  1. It might take some time to shoot one. I'll try next week with my Iphone. Am I wrong that, because you mention I hit down, I have to tee the ball more forward in order to hit it on the upswing?
  2. With autumn coming around, wet fairways, my golfseason is coming to an end. This season, I am driving the ball better. I tee the ball a bit higher, ans play it also a bit more forward in my stance. My avarage drive (carry) is not so stable as I would like to. A bad shot will carry around 200 yards. On a normal (what's normal ) my drive will be in the range of 220 - 230, with the best shost around 250 - 260. If I play 10 drives, I would say (distance like) I will hit around 6 shots in the 220 - 230 range, and a couple of bad ones (200 yards) and a couple of screamers (250). So I feel I am in the 220 range. I am narrowing my shot cone, I wrote my fw hits (I do nit use golf game) and I see it getting better. In short: hitting more fairways and getting more balls in the 220 range. With the Png driver, see below. I do feel that I do not have a problem with getting the ball up in the air. Sometimes I hit balls from the deck when I am at the driving range. The ball will still get up pretty high in the air. When I play a round, I think that I do not have much roll on the ball. The ball will fly, nice carry, lands, hops and stop. Most of the time my playing partners react like 'wow, a bomb' etc. but when we walk up to our balls, they are a bit surprised that my ball is pretty close to theirs. They shoot lower balls with more roll. And on a hard fw, they have more distance in the end. I am wondering why I do not have more roll on the ball. And what will help to get that part better. I have a few options: I tee the ball a bit lower; I go to my pro and hit some balls with the flight scope watching. Getting the numbers; Take a good look at my driver and decide to get a new one or put another shaft in it. I have 2 drivers. A Ping G10 (which I currently play with) with a Gaffeloy shaft. The G10 is forgiving. 12.5 degree, 460 cc. Before that I played a Mizuno with a smaller head. Mitsubishi Fubuki s shaft (built for). That shaft is fine when you smacked the driver. But as soon as the swing speed dropped, I couldn't get it around and I started pushing. The mIzuno is a more difficult driver. The Ping is easier to hit and more stable for me. I think I had a bit more roll on the Mizuno, and a bit lower ball flight. So I am thinking about a change of shaft in the Mizuno. Any suggestions?
  3. During the round: water, around 1,5 liter for 18 holes. On colder days, aroudn 1 liter. After a round, I avoid beer. It gives me headdache. Most of the time, I drink a so called Yellow Peter (I do not know why it's called that way), it is a mix of orange juice with tonic. Sometimes, a glass of whit wine. But that's it.
  4. I totally agree!
  5. I think they should banish those stupid flags on the faces. Dou you want to be taken seriously or not? It would be fun to see Mickelson with an USA flag. Tread it as a sport, damn it. Based upon names, you would think the USA would win it, but heck, when it comes to match play events, they get lost. Seems like they can not compete.
  6. I always stay up for Tiger. Patrick Reed, also high on the radar. A 3rd is difficult (because I just like to watch), but Rory comes to mind. I do not dislike players, it is like more a question of do I stay up late to see the finish or not if some of those players are in contention. Paddy Harrington is a friendly person, but on TV he looks a kind of mad/angry all the time. I am not in the Spiethmania. So overhyped. Let's get real. Same with Fowler.

I certainly hope you are wrong. Besides my humble (and you might say worthless) opinion that he could (and should) improve technically, it would very bad for Dutch golf if Joost would drop down the ladder. Somehow in the teachning system, young Dutch golfers aren't coming through in vastly flows. There are some talents out there, but to few to mention. Robert jan Derksen (a steady European Tour member) ended his career. No one near in sight. BTW, I think Joost has a few 'flaws' (if that is the correct word) in his game. He is not overly long, his putting and chipping is somewhat just below average. If his chipping and putting stay that weak, it will always be a problem to rise through the rankings. And although I understand that you want to play on US soil, I would like to think that I he stayed in Europe, he could have won another tournament this season which could have helped his Ryder Cup chances. I do not understand why there are so many young Swede and Danish players versus why that is not happening in my country. Joost could have a possitvie impact on that. A high ranking would certainly help. Golf on that high level is very competative. Top 75 is an achievement by itself. But I hope he might win on the PGA tour. We have a 200 meter women's world champion, which we could never dream off. Just my 2 cents.

IT would be a good acheivement if he could stay in the top 25. Somehow he is not good enough while other young players are progressing and he is not.
  9. I think it's a good question, which makes me stare to the flat screen every time he is on TV. I find his swing very interesting as well. It is like pre setting presurre on his right foot and from there, to blast forward. I am wondering if it would benefit me with the driver/3w, or in a broader sense, would help Joe Avarage. It is like a trigger for setting off. I tend to agree it would be some kind of mental trigger. And being a pro, he is probably trained it so much, that it is part of him. But I would be happy to say that at a certain point he started training for it.
  10. I can not believe he did that:-D
  11. If it's not a match, I let it go. If it gets to ugly, I politely remember him that I am playing happy golf. And that he is ruining the round that way. If he is playing a q card, I politely remember him that I am fine that he is not playing within the rules.
  12. Such a simple sentence, yet a whole lot of teachers refuse to even try it and/or willing to discus it. I thin you have a good teacher. Enjoy.
  13. Just looked at my swing again. I hate it. Feel ain't real. I thought I my swing was a bit better. I like the shirt.
  14. Bill, thanks for your comments. I think I have to agree with your comments. Your description of Stenson’s swing seems more accurate to me. I am sorry if I suggested he was swaying. If I see him, I always get the image of a sprinter getting ready to go. Looks so powerfull. Thanks for the other remarks. Overdoing is always wrong. And I agree with feel ain’t real. Last Sunday, I did not want to ‘fight’ against my body. Why fight your body if it wants to react in a certain way? Just letting my body go and try to get (the feeling of) me pushing of my right foot. I know the equation of a baseball hitter seems not appropriate, a different sport. But Sunday night I saw moments of a Yankee baseball match. And it struck me that a hitter, after the ball is being thrown, everything goes forward from the right foot (for a righty). So to (or for) me, it seems perfectly well within the S&T; frame of mind of letting pressure building up in the right foot, with a steady head. The clips of Rock and Waite seems very helpful.
  15. I have a question. I hope MVMAC might have some clips which I can check. I learned that a sway is a bad thing. To me (in short words), a sway for a righty, is that the whole body/swingcenter is moving to the right on the backswing without coming back on the downswing. Rocking. Also a sway, the hips moving to the right. I like to be centered, or feeling centered. The swing of Hendrik Stenson intrigues me. Before he starts his backswing, it seems his whole body move ever so slightly to the right, he starts his swing and then everything fires to the left. As a hack and stacker, I always try to prevent a sway, but last Sunday I just let it go and experienced the sensation of loading to my right side hitting of the tee with the driver and 3W. Like a sprinter. Building pressure on my right foot all the way up to the top of the backswing, and then pushing off that same right foot. It felt so good, relaxed and I was ponding those balls. I pulled one tremendously, but that’s about it. I've read the topic on Robert Rock, great clips and very helpful, I also like Mark Foster’s swing (I think also a MORAD guy). I am a bit scared that I will confuse or mix up loading to the right, still keeping (a bit) centered, with a sway. I was hoping for some tips, explanation (if there is something to explain) or clips.
  16. Scrolled through the Posts and other the threads. I have no idea what to make of some things. I found certain info and Numbers about weight versus presure very helpful. S&T; in Europe is pretty hard to find, there are a few teachers in Holland. I think a lot of instruction is still based upon wrong info, like a level hip turn etc. So we have a Mountain to climb. Yet, I have the feeling, although firmly based in the S&T; info, they evolved and use more data and or info to implement in a students swing. I think everybody should evolve. S&T; helps me very much, though I doubt i fit in the model. I do not take lessons that much. Given thelimited time I can spend on golf taking the choice of taking a lesson or play, I choose to play. Now and then I het a check up, some pointers. I use some specific drills, 5sk drills included. I like to watch clips on the tube, Joe Mayo, 5sk. I feel they help me and I would like to say that I swing more centered, not fighting the pressure on my right leg in the back swing. Just my 2 cents. I had one marvelous day with Mike and Andy. It makes me a bit sad to read that somewhere along the line there is some friction (or more than that) between 5sk and S&T.; Not sure what to make of it all, but I guess live goes on. When 2 people fight, most of the times there are 2 to blame. I find the info on this forum very open and helpfull and at the end of the day, it is benificial to me. Philip Bonifanti in the UK is also S&T; certified.
  17. I am thinking about purchasing it. But I have my doubts. I wonder what it will do for my golf game besides tracking my scores and hits. It won't lower my hcp. I do not understand why it could help lowering my hcp. I feel it is a very usefull tool for the low hcp players. Am I correct?
  18. Nonsens. Mr Spieth is a tremendous golfer. Although,in my view, not spectacular. With DJ you see a mile drive, Sergio treats us with a nice sandy, Jiminez probably a hole in 1, TW given us whatever and Phil brings his great wedges. That's why I like to watch those guys more. Nothing to do with rival. Stardom comes and gratually goes.
  19. Like, dislike, boring or not. We all have our favorites/heroes and that's fine as it is. What matters is that probably everybody here was glued to the TV, watching in exitement. How cool is that? One week you play well (Fowler, Jacquelin, also Luijten), but the next week you are gone. That's what fascinate me about this game of golf. Might be off topic, but what makes you a HOF? What are the criteria? I believe I read something about Mark o Maera, that he was a bit late of being inducted?
  20. The Brits are going nuts with Donald surging up through the leaderboard
  21. Spieth will get nr. 3
  22. Oh well, I leave it. I will admit I am a big TW fan. He is playing bad, he knows it. I just don't get it why he is getting the sarcastic treatment. Nevermind.
