  1. Which range do you go to? During the weekdays, I go to the Mission Hills range in Hayward during my lunch hour. Thankfully, whenever I go the rowdy kids go to the upper stalls to hit. It sometimes becomes bothersome when someone up their decides to "light up," but not to the point where I have to move or leave. Most of the time, I think nothing of it. There are some interesting characters at this range. The guy who talks to himself after each shot, the angry range rat, or there's a guy who lets out a HUGE grunt on his back swing. If someone decides to park at the stall next to me, I don't mind as long as you're not the guy who unwarrantedly talks to you about how a drill or video has helped you hit the ball further and you just want to pass on your success. That's probably the only thing that would bother me.
  2. Good times. Alabama didn't look that good this week despite the win. FSU has a stronger offense in comparison and I think their defense is pretty remarkable too. If the title game is between Bama and FSU, I feel FSU will put up the better fight. I thoroughly enjoyed watching USC finally beat Stanford after a 4 year losing streak. The last two seasons, I was so used to USC stalling towards the end of the second half to give the win to the opposing team. There still needs a lot of things to go their way for a Rose Bowl bid, which I'm doubtful it will happen. But I'll just remain hopeful.
  3. So...if I buy this club, will I make a sonic boom or cause and earthquake? Cause that commercial sure made it seem that way.
  4. Let's petition to change the name!
  5. Titleist and Mizuno as well, though Mizuno has a larger variety of irons than Titleist or Ping.
  6. I think TM is starting to lose their identity a little bit with their line of drivers just like Callaway lost their identity with their irons. Callaway released I believe it was 3 different line of irons at the same time. There were a lot of different RAZR irons along with the Diablo and the X Hot line. I don't even know what's what anymore. I do think TM could be following down the same path. In 2013 alone, they released the R1, RBZ Stage 2, the SLDR not too long ago and now the Jetspeed. The year before, they had the R11s and even I thought that was still fresh in the market when they announced the R1. Most other companies will release that many in 2-3 years. It could be that they're trying to consolidate their line of drivers by phasing out the RBZ.
  7. Just saw these pics. I thought it would look better with the TP emblem than having it actually typed out.
  8. Yes it is. My apologies for not keeping up with this outing. I'm thinking of saving the bigger outing for early next year or even the Springtime. In the meantime, if a few guys are available, we can set up something on a weekend in the coming weeks. Hopefully it stays dry then.
  9. I really feel like TM is starting to dumb down on all the graphics they put on their clubs. These clubs have a good classic look to them.
  10. Just got a new analysis from Stephen and now I'll be fully focusing on my clubface from A2 to A6. It looks hooded shut from A2 all the way to A4. I've gotten the early hip turn to be almost a natural part of my swing now so time to move on. Basically, my two priorities now are to: 1. Get the club more "toe up" at A2 and bend my right elbow adding some pressure under my right arm pit. 2. Feel like the club is more "toe down" at A4 Stephen gave me a visual of pretending that a plastic cup is covering the clubhead. At A2, the cup should be facing up and at A4, the cup should be able to fully drop from the club head. Before I got the analysis, I actually went to the range to try to increase the incline of my backswing using one of Mike's drills from a while back. I actually started hitting it more consistently as long as I hit my checkpoints. Not sure if this is the right way to go about it, but I feel like my right arm brings the swing more behind me and my left arm brings my swing more vertically.
  11. Been doing decently with Keys 1-3. Right now, Evolvr has me focusing on Key #5 throughout the entire swing as well as getting the club a little more vertical.
  12. Thanks for clarifying, Mike! I agree that they do look a lot better. I've never been a fan of the white and when they included the graphics in the R1 and the RBZ Stage 2, it really just made it look worse. Of course, that's just my opinion. I feel they've gone a little more simplistic with the last two introductions with the Jetspeed and the SLDR.
  13. I believe Adam's came out with the "Velocity Slot" before TM acquired them. TM just renamed it the "Speed Slot."
  14. Also, a lot of their technology is recycled and refined technology from other club makers. I think their speed slot is an adaptation from Adam's Tight Lies wood and/or Nike's Compression Channel. Their sliding weight is refined from the Mizuno MP630 driver. I feel like they look at other club maker's adapted ideas and find ways to make it better. I don't think TM's R&D; department revolutionizes - they glorify.
  15. It's a small and somewhat mediocre sample size, but just looking at FSU's games against ranked teams, they scored a whopping 155-28. Everyone knows they have a damn good offense, but their defense has good numbers too if you look at their win schedule throughout the entire season. Only the Boston College game really stands out where their defense might have slacked, but other than that, it's been pretty solid. I think FSU can definitely compete (and win) against Bama despite the soft schedule. IMO, if you compare the two games - Alabama v. FSU and Alabama v. Stanford - one game will have a high scoring game and the other will have a low scoring game.
  16. It will probably be called "RocketJetBaldezTour Preferred. " If they are supposedly increasing speed, why would you pick a name that's slower than a rocket? I thought a rocket > jet? Should have called is "Lightspeed" and then people will start calling it their "Light Saber" and then Disney will find out and file a "TM" infringement lawsuit.
  17. I thought the same when they announced the "Rocketballz" line of driver. So seeing the name "Jetspeed" isn't surprising, but doesn't stop it from sounding completely stupid. That could be TM's marketing design: To saturate the golf shop space with as many TM models as they can. Considering how much they've released so far, it's probably a pressure to the R&D; by marketing to release the "newest" gimmick to the masses.
  18. I'm still having trouble believing that they'll actually release this. Not that I think it's a bad driver or anything, but the frequency at which they release new woods is ridiculous.
  19. And Taylormade does is again. Year after year, another new driver was unveiled and this time it's called the Jetspeed that may replace the RBZ Stage 2 line up. They put in a more pronounced "speed slot" compared to the SLDR for this line that say will decrease the spin compared to the RBZ.
  20. I thought ND would win that game, but I did say it would be a close game. I didn't watch it, but just looking at the recap, ND made a lot of mistakes in the 4th quarter. Despite USC's struggles, they still have a narrow shot at winning the Pac-12 South. Of course, USC has to get past Stanford this weekend. I don't see that happening, but I'll remain hopeful. ASU has to lose at least one game and it should come at the hands of UCLA in a couple of weeks. At this point in the BCS, I don't see how we don't end up with Bama vs FSU in the title game. FSU's only obstacle is Florida and considering how the Gators played against Vandy, I don't see how FSU loses that game. Auburn is a good team and think it will be a good game against Bama, but Auburn has struggled a lot against ranked teams - LSU, TA&M;, and Ole Miss. They are 2 and 3 against these teams, but it wasn't easy. If they do struggle against a barely ranked Georgia this Saturday, I would say Bama has no problems with Auburn. Considering how Stanford shut down Oregon's powerhouse offense, I would love to see Alabama vs. Stanford. I think this would be a close, low-scoring game.
  21. I played a round this past Sunday with a buddy and another single. The single actually talked to the ball for me. There were plenty of shots I hit that were coming up short and he always said, "Go, Ball! Go...go...go!" It never worked, but maybe it's because I wasn't the one talking to it.
  22. I voted for the same. I really don't think of it as a bad habit unless you think you have control issues . I think it's funny how people who tell the ball to "go" thinking it's short and when the ball hits the green or even close to the pin they say something like, "Finally, the ball listened to me."
  23. Less talk, more women! In honor of the new Thor movie, Natalie Portman.
