  1. No better Cameron than another, just diffferent styles.
  2. I carry three wedges (plus a PW) because I hit my driver a long way and find that I end up hitting a lot of shots inside 140 yards. For the last couple years it's been Vokey spin milled 52 (54 bent to 52), 56, and 60. My yardages are PW-135, 52-120, 56-105, 60-90. The beautiful thing about carrying so many wedges (IMO) is the ability to get creative with short iron shots and around the green.
  3. I've never used a glove to play; only tried it a couple times at the range. I feel like it restricts movement too much and takes away a ton of the feel. For what it's worth, I also played baseball for most of my life and never used a batting glove when hitting either.
  4. I got a decent deal on a new set of Mp32's online, so I pulled the trigger. I'm hoping I like them. After hearing how great the 32's are for years, I finally just jumped on a set. I'm playing a set of X-Tours right now that I've been playing for a couple years now. However, I noticed a bent shaft on my 3i the other day and figured i'd put the cash toward a new set instead of just replacing the 3. I imagine I'll finally settle on a combo set with blades in the 7 or 8-P and something like the MP57 or 58 in the rest. For now though, I'd like to work on my ball striking and figured a set of blades will make me improve. I'm currently around a 10 or 11 handicap up from a 5 or 6 since law school started (law school is trying to ruin my game.) I'll have to post a report in a few weeks after a few rounds and some range time.
  5. 39+41=80 at LV National. I struck my irons really well today, but felt my swing kind of fall apart at the end of the round. We teed off at 3:00 in around 105* heat. By the end of the round I was beat! On a side note, I played with my Dad and had a great time. For the record, he shot a 78 and beat me. He's almost 60 and still plays really well.
  6. Good recommendation on Wolf Creek. Beautiful, albeit very very challenging golf course. Definitely worth the hour drive! I really like Bear's Best a lot. It's a lot of fun and offers some great views of the valley. Bali Hai is also nice. I just drove by a hour ago and it looks to be in great shape. TPC Canyons is also a fun course. You really can't go wrong with any of the above.
  7. I've broken a couple. I was on the side of a steep hill and had a 6 iron back toward the top of the hill. I took a hrd swing and snapped the shaf in half after strin\king the ball. I also broke my driver once, though not while swinging it. I hit a new spin milled wedge into the green and scuffed the hell out of a pretty new pro-v. I putted out, picked up my ball, and went to throw it over my cart into the desert. Well, I happened to hit my driver directly on the hosel around 40 yards away, without the head cover on it (I ALWAYS put the headcover on, not sure why I didn't this time), and heard a small *ting* as the head of my R7 TP hit the cart path. Thankfully Taylor Made fixed it for free and I got to continue using my $800 driver!
  8. My Dad is 58 and has been playing for around 40 years. When he was playing a lot about 10 years ago he was down to around a 2 handicap. Now he has less time to play and carries a 6 handicap. He did shoot a 73 last Saturday though. I enjoy playing with him a lot regardless of how well either of us play. In fact, I'm meeting him at the golf course in a couple of hours for 18!
  9. I got my degree in accounting last December, and will start law school in August.
  10. If your short game is better than your long game, bogey golf would be good. I'm usually around even on par 3 courses, but am a 10 handicap on a full course. If it's the other way around, like the guy above me said, anything better than 45 is better than your handicap.
  11. I've shot a 75 twice. One time was with one of my brothers and 6 of my cousins, to this day, they think I'm the greatest golfer ever. The other time was at Canyon Gate here in Vegas. I went out around 6:00 to hit some range balls and an aquaintance who was trying to get on the nationwide tour was going to go play by himself and invited me to play with him, so I did. I played great and shot a 75 and he played poorly and shot a 76. It was a great confidence booster for me!
  12. I definitely give up the most shots off the tee. The problem for me is that when I hit a bad tee ball, I often don't have a good look at the green which screws up my second shot, which causes me to miss the green, etc... I guess what I'm saying is that if I hit a bad tee shot, there are consequences for the rest of the hole, not just one shot.
  13. I really don't care what people wear. Their clothing has absolutely no effect on me. Maybe if I paid $20,000 a year to be a member somewhere I'd care a little more. I play well enough, but don't feel like I need to dress like I'm on the tour because, well...I'm not.
  14. The J36 blades are really sweet. The Titleist zm's are also very very nice. I'd say that not at least checking these two out would be doing yourself a disservice.
  15. I've got a bunch. It seems like when I win events that give out gift cards I buy a couple dozen balls and a pair of shoes. Not really sure why, but that's my routine. I've got Ecco, Nike (2), Foot Joy (2), Adidas, and Callaway. I may be forgetting a pair or two, but I've got a bunch.
