I own the middle one and purchased it for about 180 shipped. It looks like the one that you see looks to be in a little better condition as well. Nonetheless, great putter. I'd recommend it for $160. I believe retail for it was like $280...so a $120 discount seems fair.

my new driver.........fake or not?
m11 replied to peteybird19's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
based on feedback and the seller's location i wouldnt be worried. You can't tell by the pictures because the counterfeiters do too good of a job recreating the clubs and headcovers. All in all, it looks fine. go out and hit it. If you feel like something is wrong then look into their refund policy. -
The swing thought i use is to remember to hold off the release of the long as long as i reasonably can. This actually keeps your torso in the correct position and even brings your backswing to the proper tempo. If you're backswing is too rapid or you are throwing the club over the top...it is impossible to hold the release until the proper moment because momentum will throw the club forward. Eventually, it becomes second nature...and when you start releasing properly, but when i notice that i'm starting to mishit some shots...i tend to go back to that swing thought. Its helped me a lot and thats the only thought about mechanics that i have before each shot..

if you are more comfortable choking up a little...then by all means choke up. Although cutting the shafts will get you to that effective length that you have by choking up...you will likely still have the urge to choke up on the cut shafts.

What is The Best Instructional Video you've seen
m11 replied to firefighter2711's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
thats Shawn Clement. He sticks to a traditional version of the golf swing. He's not a stack and tilt guy or really into the tiny hip turn either. Nonetheless, his videos are great. -
putting the direction the green contours is pretty important. You'd like to know if you need to hit it up to the top portion of the green and let it roll back or if you want to land under the pin and let it roll up. Also its nice to know if one side of the green funnels towards the common pin location...you can then play your misses for that side and allow the contour of the green to direct the ball toward the pin.

you dont want to ruin your tempo or add tension to your swing. Instead of actively thinking to slow down your swing, try shortening your backswing and still making a full downswing through the ball. Because the distance that the clubhead travels decreases, the swing speed will be reduced and therefore the ball will carry farther. More importantly, you'll maintain the same tempo.

how many times out of 10 would you say you make pure contact? If you are under 9 or 9.5 times...then its not time to worry about distance yet. If you routinely pure your irons...then their may be solutions for you now....but until you hit your irons very solid with the proper trajectory and spin....contact is your first priority. Whether you are 6'4 250 or 5'8 165....a solid strike will go plenty far.

How would you describe your lower body movement during your backswing? On your backswing...do you prefer keeping that forward knee rigid (like Tiger) or do you roll it back towards your back knee like Nicklaus?

Long hitters, where do you practice your drives?
m11 replied to NBGC's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
not really to get into this but Sean Fister suggests that there are only 5 or 6 guys in the world that can consistently hit/carry a golfball 350 yards. Fister and Jason Zuback are two of those guys....congratulations if you are one of the other 3 or 4. -
I've made several orders from Golfsmith using standard ground shipping. The product has always arrived in 3-4 business days. As others said, i suggest you call them. Do you not have a tracking number?

Anyone using lob wedge for all greenside chipping?
m11 replied to littlefish's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
i used to stick with only the lob wedge. then i started using my short irons to chip and noticed that it takes much less effort to get the ball close. -
yea i'd definitely recommend those adidas tour shoes. I personally like the traditional FootJoy type look. But you cant beat that performance for like 110 bucks. Im also looking for some new shoes....and i'm having trouble finding a better deal than those 360's. I hear good things about Ecco and the TW shoes. however, by no means would you regret the tour shoes.

your best bet is to get a fitting done before you buy any club. Usually if you browse around a store...they'll put you on a monitor for free and give you a rough idea of what you need. If you are interested in purchasing...they'll put you through a full fitting and determine shaft, head....everything you would need. Its not very helpful to advise you on a loft without knowing your backspin, launch angle...those type of stats.

yes i agree for the most part. to me it sounded like the OP was prescribed Vicodin in addition to an nsaid. if that's the case, wouldnt the combination of the hydrocodone in the vicodin with a non-narcotic ai/analgesic such as put you at risk of developing an ulcer? And shouldnt the paracetamol already in the vicodin function enough as an anti-inflammatory to not warrant additional AI drugs?

most likely causes of your mishits are ball position and stance. You are likely to close to the ball and the ball is probably do far forward. Play it a little ahead of center and stand a little further back. I dont think it is necessary to think "swing flatter" because the shaft length should do that naturally. If it isnt, your grip is likely incorrect.
-
excuse my two cents...but vicodin with an additional anti-inflammatory puts you at high risk for a peptic ulcer. Vicodin already contains paracetamol as is, and the combination of a narcotic with an anti-inflammatory that isn't paracetamol is a bad idea. .....and did your doctor not give you a cortisone shot? The jump to vicodin is a pretty absurd measure. Your doctor may have given what he believes you need....however i'd recommend getting a second opinion from another local doctor regarding treating your elbow. Either way, if the pain is so bad that your doctor prescribed vicodin....you very likely tore a tendon or fractured your elbow. Whatever it is...you shouldnt be playing golf. Simple inflammation can be treated easily...if you push it...you'll be left with pain for a very long time.

yea i shot a 79 yesterday as well. I was really off and just felt out of balance. Missing fairways and felt like i missed almost every green. Fortunately my short game held up. Got up and down on 10 or 11 holes and made some putts outside of 15 feet. So all in all...seems like even when the shit hits the fan...you can clean everything up with your short game

this hole certainly gives you a got shot at birdie if you hit mid iron off the tee then short iron or wedge. If you are comfortable with that 5wood. it is certainly an option. I'd pick whichever club is as close of a lock as possible for you. No reason to put that 5wood into the bunker if its not necessary. Either way, seems like you have the right idea. I'd have a tendency to pull driver and just try to blast it as close to the green as i could get it...but thats certainly not the smart play.

in addition to what everyone else said...i think its important to try to hold onto your release a bit. If you release too early....your going to top the ball and the result will be pretty poor. Even though you are hitting a pretty simple shot...you still need solid contact. Keep your head down and try to consciously think to not cast the club until the shot becomes easier for you to execute.

middle for me. i tried this method but i cant get over the distance loss. I suppose i am more accurate with the ball forward...but with a 9i i'm pretty confident that i'll hit it accurately with the ball in the middle of my stance.

haha just ordered myself the black lacoste belt

enjoy. adams makes good hybrids. i am partial to my burner.

i already own the putter. they are refinishing it for free under warranty. I was just interested if it takes the same care as properly taking care of the black oxide finish. (turning the headcover inside out...wrapping the head in baby oil'd towel etc).
-
I have a Circa 62 with the black oxide finish. I wiped it down etc after each round...but it still rusted up pretty quickly. SC is willing to refinish it with the charcoal mist finish. Anyone have experience with this finish?
