  1. I use Macgregor's since I'm on staff with 'em. I love my hybrid ...
  2. Try the whites as they should be just right for you. If you feel it's too long, go for the greens as that should ease it up a bit. Enjoy your round!
  3. Yeah that's true. No one can suggest anything for you since we don't even know what your specs are. Besides, how do you know that the AP2's are the best for your game? Have you tried them and liked how they feel? I also suggest you should get fitted... Try different irons, and see what feels best.
  4. I've been curious for a while to see this film as well, I just hope it amazes me as much as it amazed you...
  5. I figure Titleist's best irons are their Forged 660's...although alot of their forged clubs are good.
  6. MacGregor and Wilson Staff, cheap crap? Don't judge those brands based on what you know, as that apparently proves you've got barely an idea of who those club makers are, and the greats that played them...don't go off googling them to find out.
  7. Although I was pulling for Norman, it was great to see Padraig win. He deserved it...
  8. Yeah, it's a great benefit signing a contract when you're an apprentice, getting the clubs that you want for free. I should know ...
  9. I know what you mean. Although, I do hope he holds it out and wins tomorrow, it'll be great for him...
  10. Depends how far I need to hit each iron(decided to add hybrid and wood distances too); PW: 150 yds. in... 9I: 160-170 yds. 8I: 170-180 yds. 7I: 180-190 yds. 6I: 190-200 yds. 5I: 200-210 yds. 4I: 210-220 yds. 3I: 220-230 yds. 2H: 235-245 yds. 3W: 250-260 yds. Driver: 270-290 yds. Of course, I can hit these clubs closer if needed as well...
  11. When I first started playing golf, my dad was really the one who taught me all the basics. From when I knew I really liked the game and wanted to take my game to the next level, I was completely self-taught. Now, I'm in the CPGA Apprenticeship program working towards getting my Class "A" membership. After I get my membership will be the time when I'll choose to get a permanent coach and see what happens from there.
  12. It should be exciting watching him play tomorrow. I'm sure pulling for him to win The British Open with his solid performance...
  13. For those of us who aren't used to links golf, the British Open may be tougher. However, some may also consider the US Open to be tougher if they're used to links golf. It's all a matter of preference. I believe that question may be too broad, as you can ask which courses are harder to play, British Open courses or US Open courses.
  14. I switched from Lamkin's to Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cords on nearly all my clubs, since I've always enjoyed cord grips. However, as I was trying different grips, I noticed I really enjoyed the New Decade Compound grips from Golf Pride as well. In the end however, I still preferred the tour velvet cords as I thought they were dominant over the other grips. So, if you're looking for new grips, I suggest the new decade compound's for the feel combined with the responsiveness they provide. In my opinion, they are really great grips.
  15. I find his game is pretty consistent, which is great. I want him to get through to the final round, and he needs to keep playing solidly throughout the weekend to do that.
  16. A lot of great players have already been mentioned. In my view, a lot of them are the best current players without a major, although I can't pick who's the best; Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott, Anthony Kim, and a few others...
  17. It was refreshing to see him play well, I'm impressed...
  18. I won't say never, but I haven't found a club that I've enjoyed from as of yet. I'm not a fan ...
  19. I could say I'm confident with my short game , although it still should not be the main focus of one's game. For me, it's still about course management ...
  20. Regardless, the course is still not the place to teach anything, that's why there's a driving range, teach him there. That's what I'd suggest to do as well. Have your friend get lessons. Not to be rude, but it will benefit him more rather than having a 22 handicap teach him something that may not even be correct. Have him get lessons, he'll enjoy the game a lot more if he knows what he's doing more often. Don't get me wrong, I believe that the person who timed you still did the negative thing. However, I don't support how you " taught " your friend at the course .
  21. First and foremost, I would definitely play. I would feel grateful that my boss would even invite me to play. I'd enjoy it, and try to make some new friends in the process.
  22. What do you mean by manage? They can "manage" their course management on the course, not their shots. The driving range is where people are supposed to give lessons, and where people should practice, that's what it's for. The course is for playing, not for practicing or giving lessons.
  23. I used to use the B330-S ball as well, until I switched to the Pro V1x. I felt the other way around as I thought that the Pro V1x gave me better control with my spin as well as being more durable than the B330-S. Although, I do agree with you as I felt the distance and feel were equal to the Pro V1x.
