  1. rotf, here we go again, has we cannot please our over-sensitive society. The racist Cleveland Guardians baseball team must be renamed - The Spectator World Major League Baseball has failed another major test. The new name for the professional... The new name for the professional baseball franchise in Cleveland — Guardians — must go. As several states work to remove imperialistic statues of cis white men, the city of Cleveland has reached into its racist past to honor them. This is not the progress that Nikole Hannah-Jones has been dreaming of. And while we are at it, the logo for the Minnesota Vikings must go! Here is the definition of a Viking, in which the Scandinavian the people must be fuming about: Who were the Vikings? The Vikings were raiders, pirates, traders, explorers, and colonizers during the 9th to 11th century. They often traveled by sea from Scandinavia and took control of areas of Europe and beyond.
  2. Ah, so let's resort to name-calling. I won't lower myself to that. This is how I feel, that we as a country have become too soft and oversensitive. I mean the name Indians is offensive? lol. Like I said, if they wish to name and after my ethnicity that would be just fine, I would feel honored.
  3. I'm on the side of keeping it has the Indians, I never thought negatively about somebody of Indian Heritage because of that name. People are just so oversensitive now, and for all I care they could call it the Cleveland Whiteskins. I think intention has everything to do with it, and I don't think anybody intended it to be demeaning. To me, the Guardians sounds sort of silly, especially in an area where they can't contain their crime rate, I just wonder what they are guarding.
  4. I shot an 83 today, but couldn't make a putt. I had about 7 putts for birdie and missed every one of them. I just missed an eagle chip in that rolled past 3 ft and missed the putt coming back. A sand shot out of a bunker on a par 5 hit the stick in an eagle attempt and I missed the putt coming back. I'm ready to buy a new putter.
  5. Then it was valuable, if it prompted you to give such a valuable response! I'm not sure what the sun rising in the East has to do with it but whatever.
  6. It may be a bit off-topic, but that is how a lot of decisions are made these days. People have such a biased opinion that they closed their mind to any other ideas.
  7. A friend and I played in a four-ball tournament and the best we could do is 85. The course is a very difficult lbut none the less we just couldn't get it together.
  8. It's hard to fix stupid
  9. I'll even agree with this! Fast paced golfers are not fast because they are in a cart or are walking, it is basically their golfing ethics. I play Ready golf because I think that is the most appropriate, not just for me, but for everybody else on the course.
  10. Actually I've been playing very poorly lately, so the wind might help me.
  11. If I were to voice my opinion in front of those who chose not to get the vaccine I would probably say 'very foolish'. For these type of people it probably takes someone dying in their family that is real close to change their mind. I rather doubt harsh language will do the trick.
  12. I think that's exactly what I said, because I feel like an open the 7-iron up a bit then pitch it on the green, and still have a 150 to 160 shot when I need it.
  13. Well my first response would be neither, but that wouldn't fit this thread. Probably rather the wind, but 30 mph is pretty severe.
  14. Today, my workout will consist of loading, lifting, aiming, shooting my 38sp firearm at the range. Yesterday, I got an injection in my knee for arthritis so a day of resting it is probably not a bad idea.
  15. Maybe, want I specifically meant was this is valuable info. A vaccinated individual severely sick from the Delta V. Also, I listened to her when Tampa had their home games. I enjoyed her rendition of our great National Anthem.
  16. Interesting article : U.S. Air Force veteran Sonya Bryson-Kirksey, who sings the national anthem for the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, became a familiar face to TV viewers during the team's recent run to the Stanley Cup championship. | Fox News https://www.foxnews.com/sports/tampa-bay-lightning-national-anthem-singer-air-force-veteran-coronavirus-vaccine
  17. Birdie on #2 today. Filled a vacancy
  18. Yes, for certain conditions it would be good. I was avid to get it as soon as I could. Pfizer Jan 20 and Feb 11.
  19. I never asked the doctor, just went ahead with them. I would think that is the same for most. Can a doctor know how people will deal with the shot?
  20. Four putts inside 10 ft, I slow down my backswing immensely, which gives me better control.
  21. Any events that are five clubs or so, I would always include a putter. Although with only two clubs available, I would probably go 4 hybrid, and a 7-iron.
  22. I don't know why it wouldn't be 'more' enjoyable? Would it cause more separation in your mind between you and scratch golfers, or even professional golfers? Would you rather shoot 100 from the back tees or 85 from the white tees? A refusal to move up to the proper tee box is a reason for frustration, and slow pace of play. I am 66 now and feel that I have earned the privilege to play from the white tees. When I golf with my friends I really enjoy playing from the whites and don't care what anybody else thinks.
  23. I'm not sure what the percentage of Americans are vaccinated right now it's got to be around 60% or so, which equates to Millions upon millions of people. With the history the vaccine has so far, with all its positives, and no considerable ill effects, it amazes me people will remain stubborn and not get it.
  24. The Delta variant is now the dominant strain: coronavirus-varianthttps://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/07/06/1013582342/delta-is-now-the-dominant-coronavirus-variant-in-the-u-s
  25. Yep, he did. Surprisingly, I'm usually not wrong.
