  1. That's a beautiful swing man. Jealous of that garage set up too!!
  2. Yea the club fitter mentioned that too. He said the spin is usually lower than expected on that system for whatever reason. But the height was strange to me, the whole reason I went for the fitting was because I felt I was hitting the ball too high. I had played in Florida the week before and was hitting it really, really high, so I don't have an answer for why it was so low here. Needless to say I saved the money and kept my own shafts, just tweaked the loft and lie. First time I've ever been fitted, hoping it won't be hard to get used to the changes.
  3. Ah, well maybe that was for a different set up? there was a white box that looked like the trackman behind me, guess i assumed the measurements were coming from the floor because thats where i was hitting from.. the printed report i got with each iron shaft i tried was 100% a flightscope report though
  4. sorry for the delayed reply! yes, it was a flightscope, the sensors/lights what have you in the floor under the mat, 6 before the ball 6 after.
  5. I was fitted for the KBS Tour X Soft Stepped once (whatever that means). It was a toss up between that and the C-Taper KBS X. Didn't pull the trigger yet, was like 550 bucks to do all the shafts, would rather get a new set. So just had loft and lie tweaked for now. My driver shaft is a Kai'li 63X, but 3w and 3hy are both stiffs... current iron is Dynamic gold S300, but thats a different problem for a different thread haha.
  6. The carry numbers I have in my head for each club during a given round are: Driver: 285 3W: 260 3hy: 240 4i: 225 5i:210 6i:195 7i:180 8i:165 9i:150 pw:135 52:120 56:105 60: 80 From my club fitting about two weeks ago, just in case :)
  7. Agreed man. I had false hope that we were in the clear. Stupid me.
  8. 6-12" more in New England on Monday. Can't wait.
  9. Crazy that this one thread has like 36k views!! People really are missing AK!
  10. really? we can switch places? though the greens are probably a wobble fest here in Massachusetts too, if you can find them under a foot of old snow....
  11. I was posting that in reference to that handful of previous posters who mentioned not having a grasp of what 300 yards really is. I don't think 300 is the magic, unattainable number number that it was once held up to be, especially with new equipment and technology. Where was your snarky response to previous posts who mentioned their own game?
  12. I got fitted for some new iron shafts last week, here is the data of the 40 something 6 irons I hit that night haha. thought it was interesting/applicable to this forum. I was hitting a little bit of a push that night but it was hard to tell just hitting off the flightscope floor monitor thing and the club fitter not telling me what my ballfight was... for comparison I do get about 305-310 total and about 280-285 carry out of my driver I have another sheet too with the different iron shafts we tested if anyone cares lol
  13. that's a constructive answer. the rest of them are all great suggestions though, will have to give them a shot
  14. Anyone have any solid tips/suggestions/war stories from trying to clean white leather on their spikes? I have two pairs of white adidas spikes, both of which are less than a half season old, but seem to attract dirt/stains like a magnet. I try to keep them as clean as possible in between rounds/range but its a tough job to do quickly with the hose. So how do you guys keep em pearly white?
  15. lol.... This guy is LIT!
  16. I'm in MA, and outside of my office building there is some outdoor seating/tables for people to eat at in the summer.. the seating portion is about knee height (2 feet ? 2 and a half?)...Before yesterday the benches were almost the identical height of the snow around them, and when I came in this morning the snow had sunk a good 5 or 6 inches. Not much but its something.. Christ who am I kidding this is miserable.
  17. I knew there had to be way more to that.
  18. Haha seems a little questionable but if you say so! I just think it'd be hard to convince your playing partners, "Yea it's in the middle of the fairway, but I caught it a little thin, let me take a provisional and see if I can work it out and flush one."
  19. Yeah I mean I guess you're right, as soon as you drop another ball it's like quitting a round that you intended to keep a score I guess? Even if it was a casual solo round I guess by the book they all need to count.. interesting motivation for quitting the on course practice
  20. I guess if you're committed to practicing over the course of the round, then sure. But what I am referring to is a round where you show up to the course with every intention of generating a real, by the book score; and in my case often later in the evening with no pressure from other groups, choosing to hit another ball or two as a result of a previous bad shot. From my own experience I don't think it's a good habit to get into, especially when you initially intended to play a real round. As a side note, if you go out and catch up to group by say the 4th hole...And you pipe your tee shot while they're on the green but decide, I'm going to wait anyways, I'll hit another for practice and play the first one.. I think that negates the validity of your round, like it or not you've practiced (if only to some degree) during that round and it really shouldn't count towards your handicap? Maybe that's just my own opinion I'm not sure... But if you're one who intends to play tournament golf, learning to wait and stay focused during the wait is an integral part of the game
  21. I work over an hour away from my home course, so quite a few of my rounds after work are 9 holes by myself, pretty late in the evening. I often find myself falling into that trap where I set out to put a good number together, and after 2 or 3 bad swings over the first few holes I've given up on the score and its right back into practice mode on the course. I think practice rounds are helpful if they're used to feel out a course before a tournament, but I can say that getting to comfortable just dropping down another ball after a bad swing or two during a casual 9 isn't a good habit to have. You lose all feel for the round and the art of recovery and short game, and I also believe after a while it starts to become detrimental to your focus and your execution.. It's one thing I try to make myself commit to at the start of every year is less on course practicing, just play everything out... dropping another ball is a tempting thing to do though, especially if no one is around to push you forward.
  22. Just to clarify, I'm referring to posts in the MySwing forums only, not in all forums.
  23. freedrop offline Joined: 2/2014, Posts: 208 Location: Canada Handicap Index: 27.1 I'm relatively new here, but I have posted a myswing and I enjoy reading and watching those swings of others...in general when I see something like the above (27.1!!!) I consider it a little bit of a red flag and I tend to skip the post, generally speaking. Call it closed minded, but unless you have a physical impairment or are over the age of 85, if you can't come up with the instructional thoughts enough to crack 110 using your own golf swing, you probably shouldn't be trying to help others? I don't know, it seems like common sense...you wouldn't have someone with 3 DWI's teaching an AA class...
  24. I'm not totally sure why but Rory Sabatini makes my skin crawl.
