The original Apex blades are nice however, in terms of usability and appearance, the '73 - '78 Apex blades are much more coveted. The "Holy Grail" of ALL Hogan forged blades are the initial "Precision" irons made in late '53 - early '54. Check the prices on eBay for confirmation.

I just picked up a set (2-PW) of the '85-'86 Staff Fluid Feel Tour Blades (missing the 7 iron) for $1.99 each at a local Goodwill. They look like they're in good to very good condition, except for all the dirt and grass that was never scrubbed off the faces. They have stiff shafts and 6 of them have nice Chamois grips. I'll post before/after cleaning pics soon.

Yes, the BH Grind is a forged muscle back iron. The only two iron heads that Hogan made in a cast MOLD were the Producer in the mid 70's and the Magnum cavity back. The EDGE was a perimeter weighed forged head and was very popular.

Dbuck is correct. That club is from '86-'87. Notice the Claret Jug on the soleplate? Just like a Muirfield wood. The value here would be strictly sentimental if you owned it brand new. A mid '80's used driver isn't a mid '50s Armour designed by Toney Penna. Play it, clean it up and enjoy it.

No, my '74's are Apex. The original Apex blade was released in 1972. Mine are the second year of the next generation of the Apex blade that ran from '73 - '78. Your avatar is an Apex II blade which I guess technically is the third generation of the Apex blade. I have a few of those sticks in my collection also, but not a full set. I also have a collection of Directors that were made from '74-'79 and they have some resemblance to a '73-'78 Apex blade.

'74 Apex and '87 Apex PC's are my faves...immediate response to a mishit...unmistakenable "click" when hit on the sweetspot!
