  1. Just played in the Ohio Amateur on Tuesday and qualified with a 75 on a par 70. I finished bogey bogey bogey, but kept it together. There were 12 golfer's tied at 75 and there was only 1 spot left with 3 alternate spots. I birdied the first hole and watched as everyone else made par or worse. It was a great feeling to keep it together and get that last spot. Now it's on to the championship in July.
  2. Just a quick update: Day 55 and day 34 without the patch. Feeling amazing!!!!
  3. Day 40 and 19 without the patch. Working out as well. Never felt so good in my life.
  4. I have only saved around 160 dollars, but that is quite fine with me. Day 37 and 15 without the patch. Hardly any cravings anymore!!!!!!!!!!
  5. This is day 36, 14 without the patch, and I feel so good. Only time I ever have urges is when I see people light up.
  6. My activity is P90X workout program. :)
  7. Not a day goes by when I don't think about smoking, but then I think about the 34 days that I have not smoked and realize that it is not worth it. I can only hope to play golf with my grandkids. You really don't realize how important it is to play golf with your dad until you get to be older and then you realize how much of an idiot you were when you played with him before. Wish I could go back and enjoy every round with my pops, but luckily I can still play with him and enjoy the present and future. Starting P90x today, 34 days smoke free, 12 without the patch.
  8. 31 days smoke free, 10 without the patch. I'm starting to get used to playing without the addiction. I want to congratulate everyone who is trying to quit as well. Did not start this thread to make it a help thread, but that is what it seems to be turning into and I'm glad it did. Good luck all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I noticed the championship weeks for the oh am and the pub linx are the same week as well. I am already signed up for the oh am and can't afford to go to OK. if I qualify for the us pub linx anyways. I will take a look at the us pub linx though. Thanks a lot.
  10. No I have not and to keep it that way I am starting P90x on Wednesday. :) 30 days smoke free.
  11. I bet all 10 are pured and spined and frequencied... :)

    oh it feels good

    Well done!! keep it up.
  13. You have to get a shaft that will fit your needs, this is why you should not just order a shaft because of how it looks or who has hit it. It is all about what your swing needs and that leads to better swings and better shots all around.
  14. Have rainpants and water proof shoes obviously. Like Dub said, bring extra gloves and don't be upset with how you play because it is so bad out there.
  15. No one will ever have the shafts tour pros have. They are frequencied and spined as well as built specifically for them. They have technology in those clubs you could not think of for golf. They shut down Nike's production factory when Tiger asked for new shafts, they built him 30 new shafts to test and frequency them so they were perfect, and then started the factory back up for public shafts. That is insane.
  16. I am going to be playing in 3 major amateur tournaments. They are U.S. Pub Linx, U.S. Amateur, and the Ohio Amateur. As some of you know I have quit smoking and am about to start P90x, a rigorous workout routine, that will help not only with my strength, but more importantly my flexibility and cardio. Are any of you going to be playing in these tournaments and if so have you played in them in the past and how have you done?
  17. Iacas, have you taken the club to a clubmaker to test it to see if it actually is the flex you got? Sometimes, although very rare, the machine will screw up and make the shaft incorrectly. This leads to incorrect frequency and bend points. Other than the shaft being completely wrong, I don't know what to tell you. :(
  18. You do know you have to eat healthy and exercise every single day after having this surgery correct? So, if you put 1 and 1 together, eating healthy and exercising, he is losing the weight on his own. The surgery just helps speed up the process. I continue to forget how many people on this forum are perfect and don't deal with real life situations.
  19. I started golfing when I was 4 and I became a scratch around 18. I have played 4 days a week consistently since becoming scratch and probably played a little more before I became scratch.
  20. I am now 28 days smoke free, and I am 6 days patch free. It is still very difficult, but I feel like I am able to breath much easier. Plus I am about to start p90x, life changes are hard. :)
  21. shot 2 under 70 today, not sure what the leader is at.
  22. What makes he and his fans sad? Is it the fact that they are not perfect like you apparently? I did not know we are in the presence of God, the almighty. If you are going to say crap about someone, make sure that you don't hang yourself out to dry by saying someone is sad because they have made mistakes in their life. People like you piss me off because you don't give anyone another chance. I'll be sure to bow to you everytime you post because of how awesome and perfect you are. BYE - Neudi.
  23. I think John Daly is great for the game of golf whether you like it or not. I hope he comes back and plays great. He obviously is taking this very seriously and will not waste another chance at the tour, I hope.
  24. I have the epic in x-stiff and absolutely love it. It's very stiff without being a board meaning that it allows for a lot of feedback. Plus the look is awesome. I also had mine pured though and feel like has helped quite a bit as well. I put mine in a Ping Rapture.
  25. I love a heavier putter. My putter head is 355 and I have added a lot of weight in the shaft. It's over 500g now, believe it or not. I would suggest you rip the grip off, put sand or some sort of powder weight in the shaft and cork it. It will do the same thing without the nasty look of lead tape and it is easily adjustable before you cork it.
