Nickent 3DX Square Driver- Feedback Please
jmoc replied to Island Par's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Just got mine in the mail Friday, haven't hit it yet. Read the reviews over at GolfWRX, after I ordered it, but everyone seems to rave about it. One thing mentioned was the sound at impact. Does you friends have an odd sound at impact? I had a original Nike Square Sumo and it had a more aluminum bat sound, the new ones don't sound that bad. I'll hit mine today and get back with you... jmoc -
Hate to break this to you, but, He golfs like a girl, not an LPGA girl, not a woman, a girl. He is there socially, not for the game. You need to pick another "something" to do as a friend with him, not golf. If you get him to speed up, as you said, he plays bad and blames you. I had a friend that did just the same and I cut him out of my golf. If he called or asked to play I would tell him I'm trying a new swing or working on my game and I'm playing by myself for a while or I'm going out with my son more this year, just dad and son stuff, then suggest another event to do with him, go to a game, play cards, whatever. Most likely, he will not change. What did it for me was when he started a story and would not stop talking, I paced off my yardage, took pratice swings, lined up my shot, got into my stance and then hit and he just kept looking at me and talking. After a few times trying to play with me and not getting to, he moved on. I've played with guys that are not that good and are really there for the buds, more social than the sport, but they keep up the pace. Your Friend cannot see the forrest and probably never will. Don't mean to be harsh, but that's what I've seen... jmoc

I've been playing for 8 years and have owned the following Sets: Knight Diablo (1st set, gone quick) Ping i3 Ping i3+ Ping G2 Callaway x-16 Nike CPR Nike CPR2 Cleveland TA5 gunmetal Ping i5 Nike CCi Nike Slingshot Nike Ignite Nike Sumo Ping i10 Wilson Staff Di7 Adams Tech OS (I may have missed a set or two) I currently have 5 sets: Ping i3+ Ping i10 Nike CCi Wilson Staff Di7 Adams Tech OS I will play one round or two and then switch sets. Sometimes I'll play one set for two or three months straight. Just depends on how I'm feeling and how well I'm swinging and what course I'm playing. It's a very complex formula and I'm not really certain I understand it.... jmoc

Just the sound of racking a 12 gauge has probably stopped more crime than any gun law.... jmoc

ganjagolfer, if you lived in Ca you could only make it a 49* wedge as anything ove 50* is illegal. Dude, you kill me, great wit. Laxplayer201092, just sent my SR9 in for upgrade, haven't even fired it yet. Heard on the news that gun purchases are up 10% because of Obama/Biden. I'm not sure what will happen, I sold a bunch of my stuff when Clinton came in thinking he would pass new laws, but he had a Republican Congress to off set him. If BHO goes too crazy I think the off year elections will see the Repubs win enough seats to split Congress again and help reign him in, at least I hope so. I've heard may stories on the 556's lack of power and I hope we go to something like the 6.8 SPC. When I bought my Berreta, I got it in .40 for basically the same reason, even though 9mm HPs will do the trick. Hang in there.... jmoc

Not in the least, but saying 3k is an insentive to "create" a job is a canard and an insult. Companies create jobs when it creates more profit than the expense it imposes, not to feel good about themselves.... jmoc

As long as your comfortable with the guy that is "forcing" the equallity, then things are fine. But when that guy decides you have it too good, then your opinion will change. I have never seen a society that could artifically enforce/create equality, reds, blues, republics, democracies, socalists, or communists, none have ever done it, or come close..... jmoc

Let's see, 3k in tax credit to create a 35k job, wow I just saved 32k, or is that I just lost 32k! Please do not insult our intelligence.... jmoc

I do think the better players will be more challenged than the average 10 to 20 Hcpr will be. I use harder balls as distance is more friendly to me than spin around the greens. Although, I've noticed recently that the "hard" balls are lots softer than they used to be. I've had my TF Freak and even the D2 check on the green and even hit and pop back a foot or two on approaches. The bogey golfers tend to roll everything up more than the par guys and so will probably not see a huge difference. Who is making "V" wedges currently, I'd like to try one and see if it causes me to play different.... jmoc

I'm hitting the Tech OS now and really like them. But you know the OSS is super game improvement and the A4s are more of a players club. The will still be more forgiving than a blade, but you will notice a difference. From the Adam's site "we developed the Idea Tech a4 Hybrids and Forged Irons to meet the needs of better players". They still look more like a cavity back, but I don't believe they will be as forgiving as the OSS Nikes. Just a thought.... jmoc

Anyone else noticing how the Obama "Rich" has gone from $250,000, to last night's infomercial of $200,000 to Joe Biden's $150,000. I'm getting richer by the moment, and Obama's not even been elected yet... jmoc

There is a diffenence in taxing to pay for things like the Military and Schools, and taxing to make things "fair". Money "taken" for legitimate government services that provide equally to all, i.e. military defends all americans, not just reds or blues, is not redistrobution is the sense that it stays in the government. Money taken because you, individually, make too much and given to another individual citizen just to be "fair" is redistribution. That "poor" person does not provide a service to all americans for the extra wealth he is handed by the government (other than making us "feel" better about ourselves)..... jmoc

I have a set of Cast CCi with graphite shafts and have not seen a loss in distance from the G2. I've had sets of i3, i3+, G2, i5 and currently i10. I kept the G2 set in the trunk because they were very forgiving and travelled well, course to course. I sold them to a friend and got the nike's on a whim because I liked the way they looked (I had just gotten a set of Wilson Di7 irons, love them, very forgiving, and now I'm experimenting with the Adams Tech OS irons). You will notice a difference in forgivness, the CCi's are not a super game improvement iron, and mis hits do lose a good bit of distance, maybe even a club. They are not as forgiving as the G2's, but they are still forgiving, more like a set of i3's, maybe just slightly less forgiving. You will notice a difference on the mishits, loss in distance, but center hit to center hit, they should be the same. Also, they are smaller and have less offset than the G2's. I like them, but unless you strike the ball fairly well, you may be disappointed, but I can't really say. I have heard and read alot of people say they lost distance, but it was not the case for me. Hope that helps.... jmoc

Who buys golf equipment ONLINE 'vs' Retail Stores
jmoc replied to monsterputt's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
You can get such great deals online, like ebay, it's hard not to buy. Just check the dealer's rating and you should be ok. I'm sure it's more expensive to ship to Australia, but I got a set of new Wilson Di7 irons, 4-gw plus sw for $300.00 and a new set of Nike CCI's with graphite shafts for $325.00. I was weary of the TM Superquad I got (for $149.00 new) but checked with TM and gave them the Serial Number and they confirmed that is was legit. I got my Bridgestone Gravity Chamber Hybrids for about $35 each, new, all off Ebay, but mostly from the larger dealers... jmoc -
I'll admit I'm an odd duck, but I have 2 swings. My Iron swing is very flat, straight back approaching from the outside, almost a pull, but it produces a very straight ball. The Driver swing is more rounded, but still outside, then drop it into the inside on the downswing producing a nice draw. I will say that they get mixed sometimes and my game goes askew. I should probably go to one swing, but I cannot get the iron swing to work with the driver, the tee ball fades or even slices. Maybe time to apply myself... jmoc

I caught her placing her hand over her belly a couple of times and leaving it there while talking and thought that was odd. Then I remembered that she was PG and that made sense along with the "enhancements". I do feel for Rachel, Otis was a weight around her neck the whole show and then crippled her with the "Father" comment. Of course it did not help that Sally said the putt was really slow as she walked off on the playoff hole, almost guaranteeing Rachel would hit it too hard... jmoc

I'll quote OWK again "what I told you was true... from a certain point of view.... you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view." That's all I'm really saying, News from Fox is not automatically false and biased just as info from CBS, MSNBC, et al is not automatically false and biased. We can site times from both sides that show bias, but to dismiss Fox out of hand is not right. Last night AC360 lead with a story on how much Palin spends on dresses and make-up. Really, with a Great Depression on the horizon, Jo Biden's 5-6 terrotist attacks pending, the Stock Market and Retirement Funds bouncing all over the place and gas prices falling to their lowest in years, the most important thing on AC's mind is Sarah Palin's underwear, I mean dresses, give me a break. Those are the things that get Conservatives pointing to the CNNs and MSNBCs and screaming bias. Did he run a story on Michelle's Iranian Caviar and Lobster meals, if not, where's the balance. Neither story belongs on the News, they are fodder for Inside Edition and ET, but not for a program that is supposed to be giving us real News. The guy that interviewed Palin last night on AC360 admitted that if she had said what Biden said, the Media would have been all over her. At any rate, I enjoy a rational discussion of our opinions that are mostly irrational to everyone but ourselves, thanks for seeing the humor in my last post... jmoc

Just wondered if they believe Al-Jazeera is biased, since we use f.a.i.r. as our indicator of "fairness" in the media. As you said on another thread "Dude the fact that it is an Al-Jazeera report doesn't change a thing those people are saying." So if f.a.i.r. says Al-Jazeera is in fact biased and some use them as their media back up, then Fox would be a valid back up for response. Maybe I'm off target, but I'm just asking... jmoc

What does f.a.i.r. say about Al-Jazeera... jmoc

With my son, I play match, but I double my strokes until I'm on the green, then putts count as 1 each. Example: par4, I Drive, approach (and miss), chip on, that's 3 so it's really 6, then 2 put for an 8. He's on in 5 (actual strokes) and 3 putts for an 8, we half the hole. We have a great time, I really have to focus since my strokes are doubled until I'm on, so it's easy to get into trouble quick. You could make it so that for him to lose the hole, 2 of the 3 would have to beat him or something like that, just a thought... jmoc

cool BAG COVERAGE & SET MAKEUP article
jmoc replied to Stacey_E's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The 64* is a tough call, you can really get yourself in trouble with that wedge. I use 4 just for that reason, so I can hit full wedge from 50 yards out. Now that I have played more, I rarely get into that 40 to 75 yard zone anymore, better course management I guess. I only use the 60* for chipping around fast greens to give me more roll out space. I think the basic premise of the article is sound... jmoc
