I'm looking for something used at maybe 50-60 dollars tops. I should be able to find a good quality used five-wood in that range.

I am in quite a spot when it comes to buying clubs. I am left handed, and our local shops don't carry left handed clubs. THusly, I am unable of trying out new clubs unless I want to jump in my car and take a two hour trip to Indianapolis. So I am turning hear for advice on buying a 5 wood. I currently only have a driver, 3-sw irons, and a putter. I want something I can hit off the deck when i'm 250 out and get closer than I can with my 3-iron. A local couse had a set of left-handed rentals and after becoming a patron he left me take the woods out of that set to try them out. I found I couldn't hit the three wood with any consistency but that I could hit the 5 wood fairly well. So anyway, long story short I am looking for a reccomendation on a 5 wood. Thank you very much.

He wants a lefty oooasfd. Those were all right handed. I am in the same boat. I can't find a reasonably priced lh putter either. Just keep searching ebay and praying ;^P.

UPDATE: I bought a set of ping eye2 3-pw in pretty good condition for 180 shipped today on ebay. The g2's were going about 300 shipped and I didn't want to drop that much just for irons. I am only 18 and getting ready for college so I can't really spend a large amount on golf right now. I also bought a Ping TiSI 8.5* driver for 40 bucks in good cond. I still need a putter and a bag and then I am good. Wedges can come later. I am left handed by the way so my options seem to be more limited as too actually finding putters.

I have started leaning more toward the g2 irons than the eye irons. A buddy of mine uses g2s and they hit very well. I am looking to pick up a set for around 220 shipped as well so I am thinking I will go with the newer clubs.

I'd be getting 2-pw and they have pretty good grooves in them as far as I can tell.

I am looking to buy a set of used Ping Eye2 irons for 220 and am wondering if thats a good deal. I am new to the game and I am looking for game -improvement irons that I can grow with. I am finding all kinds of variable prices on these irons and I can't find a medium price range in all my research. I also was wondering if anyone has played with these irons before because all i'm getting are the typical 5/5 ratings that everyone gives out. I am looking for honest feedback. Thanks for all your help in advance guys.

I haven't used craig's list personally but I have heard nothing but positive things about it...unless you're in the dating ads lol. :P

I definately thought that Tiger was faking his injury up to try and make a "hero" winning moment. Little did I know he was hurt worse than anyone percieved and he still beat the best of the best.

a 50 cent piece. I like how big and shiny it is.

That is rediculious. I get that slow play can get annoying but to take it that seriously is what makes newbies scared to golf. I know I was scared of the typical golf snobs my first time out. It jsut so happens that I met up with one and he threatened to kick my off his course. It is sad that these people ruin the game of golf for newcomers.

The masters. I love watching it.
-
That's a good idea. I might have to try that some time.
-
I haven't went by myself before but it doesn't sound as if it would be very enjoyable. Maybe it's just me but I enjoy being in a group and socializing between my shots.
-
I had a similar experience my first time out. I was just learning to play and we let 2 older people play through. They subsequently got backed up by a slow group of 6 senior citizens who took there time and wouldn't let anyone play through them. we ended up in the middle of a traffic jam on 7 because of the douches and who should get yelled at but us???? The manager comes down and threatens to kick us off the course and tells us to speed it up or else.(i remind you its these old geezers holding up play) I got heated and told this prick that if he wants to give me back my twenty bucks i'll leave and never set foot on his precious course again if i'm this big of a problem and he got real crappy then. He told me to finish my golf and he doesn't do refunds to kids because they don't know how to play.

I've never aquired a taste for the lpga. But I only watch the mens majors so maybe I just haven't taken well to golf on tv.

I get about 23 miles to the gallon in my pontiac sunfire. It's decent but I would like to get something a little better soon.

Which ball do you use? or prefer?
ZTB17 replied to Robiola the Monster's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I have used nike balls and have had decent results with them. I haven't tried many other balls though and am planning on buying different balls each time i need them and testing them out. -
I'm still at zero lol. But Soon I hope.

which iron will u recommend for beginner?
ZTB17 replied to simpleday's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I am in the smae boat that this guy is in. Only i'm left handed and it is harder than crap to find a decent set of clubs at a good price. I need to know if it is reasonable for me to be looking for a set of Ping left handed irons (g2 or otherwise) for around 250 shipped? -
Yeah I'm used to getting the wtf looks when I tell someone i'm from gas city now. Thanks for the welcomes everyone. Glad to see some Ball State Alums here as well.

I think that while this makes some sense, the author is just trying to cause I stir. I know I see smaller people in my high school all the time who bulk up for football every year and they do seem to get hurt more often then those who stick to their normal build and don't bulk up quite as much. I think that Tiger's trainer will get him going and we will have a helathy Tiger soon enough

I find this book to be a decent but not great book. As said above, it does a great job with keeping your mental game sharp. I think it is hard for a book to teach you swing mechanics, that is more of a face to face learning experience rather than a printed paper lesson.

I wear khaki shorts and a nice t-shirt when I golf. I find it more comfortable and when I am just with my friends why should a dress up in long hot pants and a stuffy polo? If i was playing at an upscale course or in a tourny or something then I would dress up but otherwise I think it is rediculious that you should dress up to go whack balls around a pepped up field with small holes in it. I just hate stuffy golf snobs with a passion.
