  1. grip size depends on hand size and whether you grip in your hand or with your fingers. I like to draw the ball so I use smaller grips but larger ones on wedges so as not to get handsy.
  2. I am a redneck. I drive an HD2500 Silverado with a 6 litre engine and get 13-14 mph. I own a shortgun and a varmit rifle. I play golf just to piss off the weenies at the country club.
  3. bring back Pat S. and Dandee Don and Howard C
  4. the score in golf is kept by how many strokes it takes to put a ball into a hole> there is no scoring for how far you hit it< just how many times> you"ll hit a pro v less often that the rocks that you have to hit short and hope they roll on the green and not over it into a trap or hazard> if you want to hit is farther
  5. I use a lob wedge for most shots.
  6. I am not sure but I think that Lee Trevino's right foot was parallel to his open left foot so that both feet we pointing toward the green.
  7. most right eyed dominant golfer line up to the right of the target. That's why many start from alignment from behind the ball. have you had anyone check your alignment
  8. ProV1, just use them. you'll end up being a better golfer. I took the survey and it ended up suggesting Srixon soft/feel. they just go off or to the back. far is not good when trying to get near the hole. golf is how many not how far
  9. warbirdlover suggested a spider. got one and tried it on the practice green. I think its going to work on the crowned cups.
  10. The post about in what sport could you beat Tiger made me think. Which Professional would I like to sit with and talk with and have a Beer. Julie Inkster is my choice.
  11. I guess I really don't want to have to beat him at anything. I would like to sit on a stool and have a beer with him.
  12. 983K is a great driver head. for a beginning golfer you might find the percussion center is small. you don't get the whole face like you would with a Cobra head. It is still a great driver. I would use it at the range for practice and then pull out big headed driver and it will seem like one of those plastic toy clubs for kids and you'll just feel that you cannot miss hit it.
  13. I use left hand low for 10' and in. I cannot lag from longer distances with this but I like it for short putts
  14. got any tips for talking to a wife?
  15. Does pace of play affect your game? Personally when pace is slow, I play poorly. but there are some who play poorly if rushed. My last 71 was when I played in less than 3 hours. I am sure that when you were trying to catch up that you were not overthinking and over planning but were just moving along which might be your best scoring mode.
  16. You need a 4 wood. You can never have enough clubs.
  17. We have ping Rapture, Tour Burner, R7, Eye etc. Golf companies have to know that this forum's membership could better name a new set for marketing. What name would you want to see on a set of clubs or just the woods or just the irons. You can include the company name of choice also.
  18. yes I swing differently with different planes and different grip pressures and grips.
  19. golf would be boring with just one swing. I need the following: a draw b cut c lob d chip e pitch and run f pitch and stop g putt h trap shot i see what happens if j punch out k. driver off deck
  20. you need contacts and glasses. you cannot wear contacts 24/7. if you get an eye infection or have allergies then you have to switch to glasses. but playing golf with contacts is far superior to wearing glasses, then with contacts you can get a great pair of sunglasses which will help with reading greens. Prescription glasses of this quality are very very pricey
  21. I use a 60 out of the traps. Are you comfortable opening the 56 for more loft? If yes then take out the 60. How much difference between your 5 &6 ? the difference for me is spitting distance so I'd keep the scoring clubs and take out either the 5 or 6. getting up and down is important for us short knockers but if you can add to your 6 by drawing it or shorten your 5 by cutting it then keep the 3 wedges.
  22. Ever think about how stupid it is to talk to an inanimate object like a golf ball in flight? As if it could hear and obey? I used to yell at the bowling ball back in scratch league days. Did I really think that it's going to change?
  23. I have been told a number of times that the Ray Cook original Blue Goose was designed by Scotty Cameron before he went to Titleist. Is this true or not?
  24. Counterfeits are a real problem. If your regular partner shows up with a brand new Tour Burner Driver for you regular play. While showing off his new driver, you cannot help notice that the lettering if off on the head and head cover as well at the color being off. Would you tell your partner that he has a counterfeit?
  25. I use a shooters rangefinder by Bushnell. Works fine and I can get a read from the flag from the tee. I don't need the distance to the front or the back or the middle. Just the flag baby, just the flag. The satellite you are communicating with is 27 000 miles away and how do you know that the guys who walked the course were not in hurry. I am always within 2-3 yards of the GPS guys and I can take my Bushnell to the shooting range. I cannot take my GPS there.
