  1. So I bought new clubs 2 weeks ago. Walter Hagen XI cavity back blades. Somewhat forgiving, but not really . I have used them for about 4 rounds and realize I cant hit them at all. The 8, 9 and PW work but thats it. I shouldn't have bought them but the price was right so I took the plunge. I'm thinking about getting new club heads. Something over sized and way more forgiving. I play with a buddy every week that has TaylorMade rac OS2 irons and I hit them great. Hitting these clubs seriously shaves 9 or 10 strokes off my game. The reason why I only want new heads is because my shafts are great. Precision Rifle 6.0 shafts. Well at least I like them.... Any ideas or advise on what to do? Or where to buy just the club heads?
  2. Confused on what you mean. Could you elaborate?
  3. I play out here in So Cal and it gets 95* and above. I take my glove off every shot and use my towel to whip my grip almost every time. Everyone has there own tricks. Sounds like its a mental thing for you tho. If you sweat and worry about your swing chances are you wont feel comfortable and wont hit well. Try to get early tee times. In the summer my tee times never get past 7AM.

    Hockey Players?

Been playing since I was 7 (I'm 25 now). Ice hockey that is. Grew up in So Cal and played club, juniors, and college for Syracuse NY. I still play every Sunday in a beer league. Its pretty competative cuz there are 5 differnent divisions so it's a good skate. I love Sundays....
  5. I've noticed this in shopping for 3 woods lately. I'm confused as to what degree to get. I was leaning towards the TM Burner 15*, but now I have second thoughts.
  6. Just bought the 2007 Burner for $199.99 at Chicks. I was looking into all 3 clubs becuase I have always used TayloMade drivers. Before I purchased the Burner I was playing a R580. I liked the driver but I needed a more "forgiving" head. I really wanted the SuperQuad, but I think the extra weight would get me into trouble. I'm really happy with my Burner. I hit longer and 100x straighter then my old R580. Oh and btw, its a stiff flex with a 9.5*. It feels very comforteble and I believe its the easiest to hit out of all 3. You may not get the distance like the SuperQuad or Tour Burner, but it works for long and straight. Overall I'm happy and hopefully will have lower scores to come.
  7. I saw that! The bear was crossing the fairway and it looked like he was going after someones lunch!
  8. would fitting ur clubs make that huge of a difference? I have looked into it, but am unsure.
  9. I did this about 2 months ago. I believe the distance was about the same maybe a 5 footer. I havent seen an eagle putt since.....
  10. I think this "1-2-3" count will help me. Just sitting in my office and thinking about it, makes me think and swing smoother. I also agree that you should try to keep ur head down and as still as possible. Just this simple step helps me improve on everything else because I'm focused at whats in front of me....the ball.
  11. agreed. for the past couple of weeks I have noticed his name in the top 10 of every tournament. this kid has what it takes.

    Which Wedge??

I just bought a 54* TaylorMade wedge with 10* bounce. I like the club but I dont understand the whole "bounce" concept. Could someone explain that?
  13. I completly agree. I just bought some brand new Walter Hagen forged irons and need head covers. I played with them for the first time and noticed that the steel was soft and covers were nessary.
  14. where is the range in So Cal? Looks really familiar.....like Corona?
  15. I'm 5'11" and I use a 34" putter. I love it. I have tried 35" and belly putters and what works for me is 34". I even went to the extent of trying all these sizes with the same putter (TaylorMade Rossa Daytona). I found 34" works perfect for me. But again, I believe you have to have confidence and feel comfortable with ur equipment.
  16. VERY VERY GOOD DIRECTIONS! To be honest I never thought of even taking notes. That is a wonderful idea. I will try out these directions and am sure I will have some improvement. Thanks for the help!
  17. I just bought Walter Hagen XI clubs. Blades with cavity back. Have to get used to them but they feel good.
  18. Where do you go to school? I ask cuz I used to live in Mankato MN. As for my occupation its in real estate. Needless to say I have had plenty of time to focus on my golf game.
  19. Well reading through this thread has made me realize that getting my new Walter Hagen blades was a bad idea. Honestly the reason I switched was because of the price. They are $600 clubs (well back in 2004) and I got the for $89!! Pretty good steal if you ask me. They are a HUGE difference from what I was hitting, which were Taylor Made Bubble shafts with Oversized Burner heads. Now I'm hitting Walter Hagen Forged XI blade irons cavity back (which I believe makes the a little more forgivable) with 6.0 Rifle Shafts. BIG DIFFERENCE. Overall they are much more stiff and way heavier then may old Taylormade's. I do feel comfortable hitting them though. I think in time they should help my game. Any suggestions on how I could get used to them quicker?
  20. Agreed. I think this site is great. I'm certain I can get some good golf knowledge from everyone.
  21. Sup. I'm new here as well. I just got back into the game and continue to play about once a week. I already have explored alot this site. It rocks.
