If golf didn't exist it really wouldn't change who I am at all. Sure, it's an addicting hobby and I love it, but basketball was and always will be my first love. If golf didn't exist, I'd probably spend a lot more time playing basketball and playing my guitar. It wouldn't really have any affect on what I did, except my hobbies.

So is it all personal preference or does it make a difference? I'm going to need +0.5 in all my irons when I eventually buy them, but I don't know what I'll do with my wedges when I get them.

Are you hitting balls into the ocean?

Poll: List of reputable sellers on Ebay?...

Anyone ever deal with the store "Tee To Green Discount Golf" with the user being jchilds326? He's got 99.6% feedback and has 7524 transactions so that's pretty good. He's got a pretty darn good deal on the MacGregor MT 460 driver for $199.99 -
Good, fairly inexpensive ball?
jrode replied to jrode's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Yeah, at this point, I just want to find a quality ball that's fairly cheap. I mean, I could go out and spend $40 but a ball for that price isn't going to improve my game and I'd kill myself if I lost some. Right now I'd rather work on my game and still be able to set some money aside for new clubs. That's why I'd like to find a cheap ball for now. Seems like the Noodles are pretty good for their price. Might have to go with them for awhile. -
I believe there's some sort of new airline rule where you have to pay (quite a bit, I think) for every bag you check after your first bag. So if you're already traveling with a lot of bags, I'd think about doing what the poster above me said and getting them shipped to your destination. It'll probably actually save you money. Or, if money isn't an option, just buy a case. I've never traveled with clubs, but I'd go with hard. I'd rather have to deal with a big clunky case than go with the soft one and risk my clubs getting bent.

Where'd you find the Noodle Long & Soft for less than $10 a dozen? -

I think I'm going to go ahead and try out the Maxfli Noodle + Long & Soft ball. It's got really good user reviews on golfballs.com and it's only $15.95 for a dozen right now. Might as well give it a shot. -
They have a pretty good deal right now at Golf Galaxy on the MacGregor MacTec NVG2 driver. It's going for $99.97 I know you said less than $60, but I just thought I'd mention this one since I saw it on there the other day. I believe it's a few years old, but I've heard good things about it and I'm sure it'd be an adequate backup. Here's the link if you're interested: http://www.golfgalaxy.com/galaxy/pro...KDEAFK0VNK1LN5

Great deal then! I've seriously been looking at the FT-5 as my new driver, but I think I would rather get an iron set first once I can scrounge up the money.

I'd love to video tape my swing and send it in on here, but I have an ancient video camera and don't even think I can upload anything to the computer from it.
-
I hope you didn't pay $70 off of the $429 (I think is what retailers had them at) that they were charging for them because they just dropped the FT Drivers like $150. The FT-5 is down to $299 most places.

I'm out of balls and need to pick up some new ones, so I'm just wondering what some good, fairly inexpensive balls are since I'm trying to save up for new clubs instead of spending $50 on balls right now. Most recently I tried out the Bridgestone e6+ balls and they were alright, but I thought I'd try something different this time. Was looking at maybe the Callaway Warbird, TaylorMade Burner and the Top Flite Freak. Anyone ever play any of those? Feel free to offer up other suggestions as well.

Before You Buy Your Putter ( Cameron or other)
jrode replied to bigoak's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
While the course obviously matters, if you're comfortable with your putter, you're comfortable with your putter. If I see the pros start to change putters every week at all the different courses they play, I'll start doing the same. -
What make of glove do you wear...
jrode replied to PutterHead's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Right now I'm wearing a TaylorMade Targa Tour Glove and let me tell you, I'm not that pleased with how it's been so far. I've probably only played 3 or 4 rounds with it and it's showing considerable wear on the palm. Almost looks like I'm already wearing through it, which is not good. I've been sort of interested in trying out the glove that Greg Norman makes. He makes really quality, comfortable, long lasting clothing, so I'm curious to see what his golf glove is like. -
I remember hearing a story on Jim Rome's radio show about Tiger and Smoltz. Apparently Smoltz bet his spring training meal money or something on a round and lost, so he had to give it to Tiger. I don't remember the exact money, but I think it was $3,000 or something. Well, a few years went by before the played again and then the next time they finally did play, Tiger opens up a compartment in his golf bag and pulls out Smoltz's money, which he hadn't touched. Probably didn't even remember it was in there.

1997 Acura 2.2 TL with 220,000 miles on it. Haven't had a single problem with the engine or transmission yet or any major problems really. My dad handed this down to me when he bought a new car about 4 years or so ago and it's been nothing but good. Get's good gas mileage too, which is a big plus these days.

I'm pretty sure that's how I'll be when I'm that age. I don't think my taste in music will ever change again. In high school I was into rap and stuff for awhile, but by my senior year I completely hated it have moved on to much better stuff that I don't think I'll ever stop listening to.

Your height and your putter length

How do you go about lie on a putter? I've never even really thought about it. -

The Putterman looks like a pretty damn good seller. Definitely need to take a look through all of his auctions. -

I definitely would like to be more upright. I feel I'm way too bent over with my current putter and I think that's part of the reason why I have issues with putting a lot of the time. -

I'm 6'3" so probably a 34" or 35"? -

I need a whole new bag of clubs, but I just sold some old video games and what not on eBay and have a little extra money, so I'm thinking of starting with a putter. I'm really in love with Odyssey, so that's most likely the brand I'll be going with. I'm thinking either the Sabertooth (which I've tried out briefly) or the White Hot #1, which I haven't had a chance to hit yet. I'm obviously going to get in and try out the #1, but has anyone else putted with it before? Did you like it? If the #1 feels as good as the Sabertooth did, I'm going to go with that just because it's cheaper. Anyhow, on to my main question. What length putter should I get? Is there a way that this should be measured or is it all about preference? -
I think I could take Tiger in basketball if I was back to playing everyday again like I did throughout high school and my first year of college. I haven't played in awhile though, so if he just stopped at my door and said lets play, he'd probably beat me.
