  2. Cool, didn't even know we had that up here. 75 yard driving range is better than no driving range.
  3. Yea, I had a set of nike slingshots that I bought off craigslist and they worked for me learning basics, but they had regular shafts and swing speed was to high for them. Got fitted for the 825s, liked them better than anything else I tried out. And I broke 100 on the last day I played this year. Shot that elusive 99, then snow hit and now waiting for May where Ill probably go out and shoot a 120 first day
  4. How can I keep my game up during winter. I live in Alaska and won't be able to play golf till probably May. I just started playing last year and got my scores down to around 100-105 on 18. I want to keep improving but its kinda hard to when I live in an apartment and everything is covered in snow.
  5. I have a set of the JPX 825's with the s3000 shafts and I love them. Got them last summer when I was shooting around 115 consistently then improved to shooting about 99-105. I love the 825s over the nike slingshots I had. Don't know much about the 825 pros but the 825s are good in my opinion for my skill level and play style.
  6. I just play on a military course. And yea 90 percent of the balls I find are proV1s. Seeing as how all my coworkers and friends all play proV1s and all the random people I have played with use them to it's not exactly odd that pretty much every ball I find are those. And the other balls I find are still nice balls like callaways and srixons.
  7. I just started playing golf this past spring and I started of with some nike slingshot oss which are SGI and now I recently purchased some Mizuno JPX 825s and they are amazing. They are very forgiving and have great distance and some decent feel for a GI club. $499 from golfsmith and went from shooting 115-120s now around 100 consistently.
  8. Not really permafrost. The ground only starts to get hard around end of september-october and by now the golf courses are closing till May. So I dont know if permafrost would damage a club.
  9. Yea I don't care about damage to balls I play cheap tommy armours and whatever I find in the woods. And my sand wedge has enough rust on it it gives the ball lock jaw.
  10. Ok cool, i'll just take a file to it. I didn't figure it would affect it to much. Not to mention its not like I am a sniper with it to begin with.
  11. Yea its my most used club besides the putter. I was excluding that bad boy. I just have the fortunate ability of being able to smash the golf ball so since alot of my second shots on par 4s are 100-75 yardish I use my 52 a lot. And my local course's hole that is a 50 yard par 3 that one day I will hopefully figure out.
  12. Ok thanks for the help. When I hit them during my fitting the guy told me I needed a shaft that was stiff and not to light but not to heavy. My swing speed with my irons is around 90-93 so hopefully this shaft will work for me.
  13. Mine is on the sole right in the middle. Really ticked me off because I love my 52 it is the most used club in my bag.
  14. So the other day I hit a shot off into the good old wooded area and played my ball. Well I hit my 52 degree wedge and after hitting my shot I looked at my club and apparently I hit a rock that was under the dirt. Can I just beat the dent back in or is it best just to get another wedge and keep this one in my bag as my bad area beater?
  15. Man that coach who tackled the guy is jacked.
  16. How good are the stock stiff shafts on the Mizuno JPX 825s? I ordered some after demoing a set at my local shop. They are the true temper dynalite gold XP S3000
  17. my problem is The clubs I used to have only had regular flex shafts and I couldn't swing my lower lofted clubs harder because I bought my clubs used and for some reason the 4-6 irons were stiff and the 7 through pw regular. I just ordered some mizuno jpx 825s with the s300 shafts so will be updating the distance. I have also only been playing golf for about 4 months and am still trying to figure out my distances 100 percent. This was just a good estimate. I have a high swing speed and got fitted and am currently awaiting my jpx 825's to get my distances dialed in.
  18. 3 sets of 10 dumbell bench press at 80 plb db's 3 sets of 10 incline dumb B bench 70 plb's 3 sets of 10 tricep extensions with a 80 plb DB 8 sets of 30 pushups 3 sets of 10 flat bench with 225 3 sets of 10 decline bench with 235 5 sets of 30 pushups 3 sets of 20 dumbell bench with 50s 3 sets of 30 pushups 3 sets of 12 with 185 flat bench and if anybody wants to know how to increase upper body strength ask me and I can defiantly give pointers. the life of a military/powerlifter/golfer
  19. I shoot in the high 90s and low 100s with cheap tommy armour balls. That and the fact all I find in the woods around the fairways are the expensive pro v1s lets me know that golf balls dont mean a ton. I've only been playing golf 4 months and I guess i am not good enough to notice a difference in ball. My whole idea is swing and fundamentals matter more than buying an expensive ball.
  20. I have a 105-110 mph swing speed and that is me swing where I can control it. I can really crank it up and hit 120 on clubhead speed but the ball will be either a slice or hook. At 105-110 and controlled I use a project x 6.0 in my driver which is a cobra bio cell and it works pretty well. I am 200 plbs of solid muscle and have some strength. I used to struggle with the driver till I got fitted for one and the guy who fitted me put me with the 6.0 and it helped out tremendously.
  21. I am pretty new to golfing but I always take a divot on my practice swing. But that being said I always try to fill in my divot from my practice swing and my actual swing. If I dont take my practice swing the same as my real swing I always top the ball and get on top of it. Is this just a mental thing or just due to my lack of experience.
  22. On average my distances are Driver- 275 to 295 3 wood-230-245 5 wood-220-235 4 Iron 215-205 5 Iron 205-195 6 Iron 195-185 7 Iron 185-175 8 Iron 175-150 9 Iron 150-135 PW- 135-115 52 W-115-95 56 W-95-75 60 W-75-1 This is what I play each club at granted I have a high swing speed and usually hit pretty hard but accuracy is my weak point. But I am not exactly a small guy and can use my size and strength and smash the ball I think. But thanks to driving which is my strong point it helps out on scores.
  23. I hit some g30s the other day while I was getting fitted. I also hit some Mizuno 825s and the jpx ez's. I like the mizunos better but the g30s are pretty nice.
  24. Im just glad the Giants finally won one. And Eli didn't throw an interception which is a miracle.
  25. 306 dog leg par 4. 2 choices either drive 300 yards to the green over trees or hit it safe and play the dog leg. Drove over the trees 10 yards away from hole. Made first birdie ever on it.
