To be honest, as a beginner golfer, the last thing you want to worry about is "workability". Thats why beginners tend to play high loft drivers and low spin balls. Workability implies that you want to be able to create spin with your club. When I began, the last thing I wanted to do was to create spin. While spin can mean fades, draws and cuts, bump and runs, and pitches that bite, it can also mean big slices and hooks off the tee. I'd say. since you are a beginner, worry about getting a driver that is forgiving over one that features workability.

I have a center shafted nike OZ mallet and I want to throw it into a lake. I just bought it for $100 2 months ago and I started putting well with it, but lately I have been shittin the sheets on the greens. I know, I know - don't blame the equipment, but putting is 90% confidence, and I have no confidence with this putter. Looking for tips on putters under $100 to check out. I'm looking for a heel shafted blade. I'm 6 days short of being able to post in the marketplace, anyone want to trade?

I'd say stick with ping. Even if dicks gets them, they are still great clubs. I play ping i10's, i highly recommend them, they are sweet and feel just right. For a driver I;d say go with a Ping G10, very forgiving but still workable. I just got a titleist 906f4 and have been hitting it well, I think you should get one too. And let me tell you, my favorite club to hit is my new burner hybrid. It is so sweet and I can't hit it anywhere but 225 down the middle.

ok when you get fitted, if the guy is good, hes gonna tell you how important it is to get your wedges the same measurements. I'm a +2 degree with a stiff shaft and +1/2" length with a gold grip. Basically I'm a big boy with a fast swing who tended to pull the ball left. I wanted to get the tileist wedges so badly, but the fitter told me that the shorter the club, the more important it is that you have the right fitting. So maybe i don't get as much response as a vokey, but there are two huge advantages to getting the wedges to match my fit and set. 1. Continuity. They feel the same and since they are fit to my standards, I feel like im hitting a familiar club and don't pull the ball left. 2. Ease of ordering. Once you get fitted, Ping gives you a fitting serial # from there, all you have to do is call ping, or your pro shop, give them your serial number and for 87.50 ($40 less than a vokey) you get your wedges fitted to your specs.

i was a 13 when i purchased the i10's ive dropped 2.1 points in about 5 weeks. The ping blades are about the same size as the i10's, but without the slight cavity back you see in the i10's, they are a bunch harder to hit. You can still work the i10's a bit, and they have the appearance of a players iron with a thin topline and a small face. My approach has always buy to match your game. Blades are for for players sub 7 IMO. The i10's are slight game improvement irons that are meant to help you get to the player style irons. I'd say your a tweener and going from eye2's to a blade would be a tough transition.

I play the i10's they feel so sweet when you hit them right. They have a much smaller face then the g10's, but still help a bit on mis-hits You really can't go wrong with ping irons. They last forever and just plain work. Just look at your clubs, they are 15 years old and they are still breathing. Proof is in the pudding.

forget the fact that you pulled a 5 wood back, im more impressed at the accuracy from 200+ yards out, not to mention the eagle eyesight to see something spin back 3 feet from 660 feet out. what kind of money you looking to spend? I like the idea of the r7 draw they are going $299 3-pw and a free sw. Sounds like a steal to me. Personally, I've always played pings, so if you are looking for a great set to last you, and have cash to spend, go for the g10's at $700.

you went from a 20ish to a 15 to an 11.4 in a 3 days. damn. you must have no need for game improvement irons. i say go for the blades or stick with your current clubs. you are already dropping 5 points on your ghin every 6 hours.

I have both the titeist x86 in black and the ping freestyle in red. The titleist is more aesthetically pleasing, but the freestyle is lighter. it's all about personal preference, try to get something with full length dividers though.

So much stuff is right. I went into the golf shop on my break this afternoon and couldnt decide what to get. I tried out a Burner hybrid and cleveland black pearl 60* wedge. The Burner was nice, but I couldnt get a feel for the wedge since i was hitting of a indoor mat. I may have to head to the suburbs to try out the wedges.

Just got my Summer bonus and figured I could put about 200 towards some new golf stuff. I need a new approach wedge and a hybrid to fill the role of a 2-iron. But I would also love to hear of any other suggestions for what to spend my money on.

DUB! Just got the call from the pro shop my G10 came in this afternoon. I'll be hitting a bucket tonight. Perhaps I'll have a "doctors appointment" tomorrow morning and get in late to work. Cheers.

first off, calling bs on distance doesn't answer my question. second, im a big boy with a long swing. third, the reason im asking this question I was hoping to find some shots to give me the excuse to pay the $200 for a TM burner in my bag. And I was wondering if there is a few shots that I can't think of that would require a 3 wood rather than a 1 or a 5. i.e., I was thinking maybe if I had to play a strong fade from 250+ out, but that comes out every few rounds, and it doesn't warrant a big purchase.

Hey all, I was wondering if it was out of the ordinary to not carry a 3 wood. I play 1, 5 and 3-pw,lw,sw I can get my driver up to 315 and hit my 5 about 260 so anything 575 and under is reach in two territory. Is thereany plus to having the 3 in there? besides long par 5's and more control off the tee?

When did you get the Mizuno's? When you were a 25 Handicapper?
