I normally take lessons at Cantigny golf course (I live about 45 minutes west of Chicago) but due to the rain I didn't get to play all weekend. By my house is a ditch that has recently turned into a lake.

Have you ever found vintage or rare golf balls on the course? I recently found an Arnold Palmer "Charger 2." Does anyone know when they were made?

Could you use it for chipping?

If I'm right, they are low compression balls, so faster-swingers might lose distance while slower-swingers would gain distance.

Where did you see pics of the Big Bertha Diablos?

If you swing speed is that fast, you might want to try out need steel shafts for you irons. I am in a similar situation, I will need all new clubs next year to replace my fourty buck teen golf set. I am not as tall, nor do I have as fast of a swing speed as you, but my instructor still says I would need steel-shafter irons.

Just get a box of Top Flite XL 5000 or D2s. You can get them in soft/feel, straight, and distance versions, and they play quite nicely. Cheap, to.

I am definitely going to have to get new clubs next year anyways, even my instructor says that. I was just kind of curious.

Ever since I started golf a couple years ago, (I am 14 right now) I have been using a driver I got in a junior's set. When I started it was fine, but now, as I have gradually developed a fasyer swing, I don't think it can handle it. When I hit the ball, it seems like the club wants to twist around the inside or outside of the ball. Even when I hit the sweet spot, it still feels weird. I have been hitting farther recently, but not very accuratly. Is this because of the low MOI of the driver?

On a small par 3 hole I hit one of my best ever shots. It would of gone straight into the parking lot, but luckily the ball bounced of a tree.

Seriously, though, Wilson Staff 50's and Callaway Big Bertha balls are pretty nice.

Yea, I think I will get slightly-shorter than standard clubs. These won;t be my final set, anyways, once I start getting earning my own money (I am going to caddy next year) I will get a better set.

If you place masking tape on the driver's face will it show marks where you hit the ball?

I am growing, but I am considered short for my age. I want the clubs to last about 2-3 years minimum. My predicted max height, which is when I stop growing, is about 5ft 9, so the clubs should last till I am about 5 ft 5.

Haha, thats what I thought. Some drivers would be almost as tall as me!
