So I'm thinking about the 14th club to add: Driver: 240y 2I: 205y 3I: 195y 4I: 185y 5I: 172y 6I: 160y 7I: 150y 8I: 140y 9I: 128y PW: 115y SW: 100y 60 Degree: 80y A couple of points: I still am not incredibly confident with the 60 Degree from the middle of the fairway, and have a tendency to chunk it that I don't with the SW. Sand is a major bugaboo for me, whether with the SW or the 60 degree. 85 Yards is my "fear" distance, since even a 90% swing with my SW easily goes 90, and nuking the 60 doesn't work. It is hard for me to justify a 3W or 5W - my 2I is a really great club off the tee, and I very often don't need anything 220. I've been thinking a bunch of stuff, mostly gimmicky clubs: Alien Sand Wedge for sand 73 Degree 64 Degree, no bounce Lefthanded club?! Some stats about my play: Avg Round: 91, High 102, Low 81 Putts/Round: 36, High 43, Low 28 Par 3 Avg: 4.1, High 5, Low 3.29 Par 4 Avg: 5.24, High 5.92, Low 4.64 Par 5 Avg: 5.98, High 7, Low 4.5 GIR %: 28% Fairways: 12% Sand Saves: 9% 2% Birdies, 25% Pars, 37% Bogeys, 33% Others Help!

What is your favorite or dream putter and why?

Adore my Scotty. -
Correct, the result of the 1st put is meaningless if the player knew he had no penalty for missing by a lot.
-
Hmm, golf goalie.

Are you leaving your golf clubs in your car and letting it get hot? This sounds like you're overheating the clubs and letting the epoxy melt.
-
I play the Sumo SQ2 2iH. Great great club.

The baffling thing is that the guy apologized (why?) and then kept doing it (?????????). I'm very confused.

How many golf balls do you carry in your bag when you play?
JohnTwing replied to titaniummd's topic in Golf Talk
Never less than 6, sometimes as many as 24-36. -
What is the most unique golfer you've played with or met?
JohnTwing replied to Octuple Bogey's topic in Golf Talk
I played with Rick Moranis on Super Bowl Sunday. He's pretty unique. -
I've got several in the high 290's according to SkyCaddie, never broke 300, though.
-
Played with some kid who told us he was goofing off, not using his clubs, just wanted to "try out some things" and went +3 from the tips.

15 on a Par 5, the 2nd hole I ever played in my life.
-
This is the problem with the rulebook - it generally presumes that everyone else is attempting to play by the rules. In this case, the rules can't really say much about someone playing goalie with the hole and repeatedly hitting your ball. It's a par, but I'm rather baffled as to why this guy snapped and did this.

Drove the green on two par 4's at Dunwoodie. One was 250 yards, was able to throw it off a bunker in front and leave myself 30 feet for eagle. Gave it a chance, made the comebacker for birdie. Nine was 236 yards, but uphill, I drove it into the hill and was about 10 feet short of the pin. Juuuust missed the eagle putt, tap in for 2 birdies on the front. Yay!

90 at Dunwoodie. Played some really bad golf, but birdied 2 holes on the front 9 (both short par 4's, drove the green and two-putted). Just kept nuking my irons (hit an 8 iron 158 when I usually hit it 138, and a 7 iron 170 when I usually hit it 150) and kept getting in trouble. Oh yeah, that hurricane kinda messed play up a lot.

Most by volume, par 4's, most by percentage, par 5's. But my first 3-4 birdies were on Par 3's.

Opinions on the nike one platinum
JohnTwing replied to Wisconsin Golfer's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I play everything Nike, but the Platinums are way too spinny for me. It really exaggerates slices. Very good for use on Par 3's though :) And echoing walfice's sentiment, I find I need to use my Nike Blacks for about 9 holes, otherwise they just get way too beat up. -
A few questions here: Was OB a potential issue here? Or was he just lost in rough? Why 2 provisionals? Did he also yack his 1st provisional? (For other people) Given the warning, and finding the 1st ball, was heading to your ball incorrect, playing ready golf? (For other people) How is waiving through helpful to being on the clock? Wouldn't you still have potential DQ issues? By my math, this guy could have been lying 7 if he played his 2nd provisional and lost it. No? (For other people) If OP's going to his ball was proper, what should he have done? How would he know if the ball was lost or not? Does the player then need to request help? Or what? It sounds to me that OP was in the right. He provided as much assistance as possible, and tried to speed up play. OP is in the UK - how do the rules there change this? If you could have waived up the next group, then that is the right thing to do. If the issue is that you can't let the group behind you play through, but have to speed up your own play, what can you possibly do here?

Riding for me. It helps give me as much time as possible to focus on my shot, and while looking for lost golf balls, especially if I'm playing with guys who are walking.

I've seen pins placed on slopes before, for tournament set ups. I recall 5-putting one green and being thrilled about it. Usually I find most courses have at least one brutal pin placement each day.

How many tries would it take to make aces with all 14 of your clubs from 55 yards?

I've been home 6 hours and I'm still steaming from my round today. Was stuck next to 4 of the most frustratingly bad groups in history. Backed up every hole, and they never got anything sorted out. I really let it get to me, since when it came to every shot I had people behind me breathing down my neck. Rushed nearly everything. I finally snapped on the tee on 14. 9 minutes after teeing off (this guy ALWAYS teed off with an iron, even on long par 4's like this one. Note, these irons didn't go long, maybe 120 yards on about a 400 yard par 4.) This guy is still waiting to hit, a good 100 yards behind the rest of the group, who is hitting out of turn, and running around. The kicker is, after he hits his 2nd shot, oh, 90 yards into the trees, as I get into my routine, I see an argument. Apparently this clown had picked up the tee shot of some guy on 13. I flip out. My tee shot actually goes about 4 feet in the air and lands 2 inches from my feet. I then ship my 2nd shot OB, shake the hands of my playing partners, and drive off. This was a good 4 1/2 hours after we teed off. At that pace, we were talking 7 hour round here.

Definitely north of 200. Average Greens fee is 60.
-
49 at Dyker Beach. Never had a more frustratingly slow round. Quit after 13 holes, and 4 1/2 hours on teh course.
-
88 at Dunwoodie . Put up a 7 on every Par 5, though. Yuuuck.
