  1. I've heard golf used as a verb so many times it doesn't matter to me. There are more important things in my life to be concerned with.
  2. To each their own, but I think they look great. Bulky? Maybe it's just the way the pic is, but I think they look sorta like a regular sneaker, which is what I wanted. I guess that's why they make so many different kinds, as to please everyone.
  3. Although I've already purchased them online, (still waiting for them) I was wondering if people think they live up to the hype. All of the reviews I've read are generally very positive. I bought (last gen) Lunar Control 2's for what I thought was a good price at $66. Here's the pair I bought:
  4. Sounds like shady business practices. Won't be buying them.
  5. "I want to win a pair of Adidas Adipower Boost golf shoes"
  6. I have no reason to exaggerate or lie. You have to take into consideration that there was a lot of duffers out there losing balls, sculling shots, and just generally being slow. It wasn't a country club, it was a public course where they would let you out wearing cut up jeans and muscle shirts.
  7. Sorry to hear about the theft, it sucks. But then again, if you can remember all the specs of your clubs, you can re-create them again. We're not talking about building a rocket ship, they're golf clubs. Get the same clubs, same lie, same grips, and there you go. But yeah, the getting robbed thing is horrible. Sometimes I wish we had the same laws as other countries when you get caught stealing. Theft would be down 99% if we did. Keep an eye out on Craigslist for your clubs. Call the cops if you see them.
  8. By frustrating, I mean long delays at every hole, idiots on the course, rude people, weather, or anything else you can think of. Mine was at a course in Rochester NY. I was at a very popular public course on a nice summer day and everyone and their mother's brother's uncle was out there. We decided to go for it anyway, and it took 6 1/2 HOURS to play nine holes. At every hole there was a 6 or 7 groups waiting to tee off. I took out a plastic bag and went ball hunting for much of the time I had to wait. Needless to say, I was set for golf balls for the next 4 yrs.
  9. I wish more people would hit the range before going to the course. :( My first round under 100 was in my second season back in '88. Took me about 7yrs to break 90.
  10. For those that think being a pro golfer is all fun and games, you are severely mistaken. It's a job, and you spend countless hours practicing, traveling, stress, time away from family, etc...... I want to enjoy the game for what it's worth. Sure, I want to do the best I can, but I don't want the pressure of doing it for a living.
  11. Back in the 80's when I was a young whipper-snapper, I drove a 350 yd par 4 with a slight headwind. I still think of it from time to time, but now I'll take 250 and be happy.
  12. I used to get a little mad when I was younger back in the 80's, but I'm too old and laid back now to care. It doesn't help anything to get mad. Just suck it up and move on to your next shot. Try this: laugh at yourself next time you make a bad shot. I guarantee you'll have a better chance of recovering and making a better shot next time. It's juvenile to get upset and cause a scene over a game, and people will lose respect for you.
  13. I went to the PGA Superstore outside Atlanta and had my Taylor Made driver regripped for $1. (It's the best golf store around. About the size of Dick's Sporting Goods, but nothing but golf equipment) Then ordered a Titleist hat and shirt for $27 on ********** (China). They're knockoffs, but quality is good and they're much cheaper than buying in the states.
  14. I'm really interested in trying the Wilson Staff Duo balls. I read a ton of reviews and watched videos. They claim that the balls are the longest, softest balls available with low spin. Seems like the best of both worlds.
  15. After not golfing for the last 3 years, I find myself dying to get back out there on the links. Just bought a new set of Adams clubs and can't wait to use them. Cheers and good luck out on the course.
