Would like to fill some nicks on hybrid tops

You could also try nail polish. There are lots of colours and quite a few have some sparkle. They even have the little brush built in. I've used this before for minor scratch touchups where I didn't have an exact paint match. -
Excellent point, thanks.

As winter is here in Canada (we are supposed to be getting snow in a couple of hours), outdoor golf is over for the season. A friend convinced me to join a men's indoor golf league. I mentioned this to the pro at the local shop and he warned me NOT to use graphite clubs on mats for extended periods of time. Apparently, they do quite a bit of club repair because of this. Anybody else have any experience with this? I'd prefer to use my new set over the winter and try to get a feel for them (I got them just as the season ended) versus my old set, but I don't want to damage them. Thanks

I suppose they could always press the spirals into the ball AFTER they paint it. They might even be able to mill it in as well.

Thanks, I'll check them out.

I'm heading to Orlando, FL this week and wondered which golf shops people here recommend popping into. And before you ask, I've used Google and various yellow page sites to get a list of shops in the area, but all that REALLY does is give me addresses to put into the GPS. It doesn't give me any idea on the quality of the shops and I'm going to have limited time to go shopping so I want to try to hit the better ones based on user experiences. Also, because I'm from Canada, I don't have any exposure to some of the normal chain stores like Dicks so I've got no idea what to expect from them except they advertise like heck on the Golf Channel, but that doesn't mean that they actually have people who know anything or prices that are competitive. I don't have any specific manufacturers or must have items in mind, but wouldn't regret a chance to hit a few clubs, maybe browse a hybrid or two and perhaps check out some new shoes. Also, if any places sell demo clubs, I'm not adverse to buying good used equipment. So, any recommendations?

Has the economy affected your golf game?

Economy no. Snow, yes -
43 walking. Ran out of light to finish the last 2

I just tried a few of the local courses in Saskatchewan and the ruler works great. I just wish I had thought of this earlier in the season...

7.5 hrs on a muni course. Tournament ahead of us - best ball scramble format with some really new golfers, extreme amounts of alcohol, and no course marshals. On more than one hole I watched the "team" take 8-10 swings EACH trying to hit the ball and then laughing their heads off when all they caught was air followed by a quick sip of the current beverage and another set of swing attempts. At first we got frustrated, but after a while it became almost like watching a comedy show - it was that bad. We decided to tough it out just so that someday, when someone asked how long was your longest round, we'd have a ready answer.

When is the best time for buying clubs?
jamesgoodchild replied to Zeph's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I find any time I wait too long for that final price drop, the product I'm interested in disappears, never to be seen again. That's really annoying when you are trying to complete a set of something..... -
please..please help me find a 3-wood

Its all subjective, but I like the TM R7 CGB Max. I can pick the ball up nicely from the fairway or first cut with it. -
If you hit well, does it matter what clubs you use?
jamesgoodchild replied to Alex1's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
But isn't one of the objectives for beginning players the ability to map out their distances with clubs? I agree they are all over the map with swing, but at least if the clubs hit consistently spaced distances, then that is one less variable for them to worry about. I remember when I started, the instructor I had helped me map out distances for each club and even today, I know which club to use if I know the yardage to my objective. If I blow the shot because of physical limitations in my abilities, then club selection was a moot issue, but at least I don't blow the shot because I picked the wrong lofted club. -
What's your record of greens in a row without a 3 putt?
jamesgoodchild replied to FortAsel's topic in Golf Talk
2 rounds a year ago. Lately, one per round minimum. -
I feel your pain. All these great sales on right now and maybe only a couple of games left in the season to feel the new equipment.

Errant drives followed by really bad decisions on recovery.
