  1. hey Erik, I have a question about the 909f3. and it could be a coincidence too. but every online store i went to has the diamana blue 65 and voodoo available for the 909f2, yet they only have the voodoo available for the 909f3 and not the diamana blue 75. is the f3 with a blue 75 not available yet or did they decide to can that shaft and just make it a voodoo with the f3?
  2. i dont know if you can reach a point or if its just certain teachers, but i feel like seeing my teacher about once every few months is more beneficial to me. i guess its because my swing is to a point where i don't need somebody constantly trying to improve it and work on mechanics. i have a friend on my golf team whose dad was a club pro for 20ish years and now is an exec. for club car golf carts. i will probably start seeing him because it won't cost me anything and im not extremely pleased with my current coach
  3. do you know if its the same with the ysQ shaft? is that a smooth tempo shaft also?
  4. ya it gets down to about low 30's on average. a nice day in december is mid 40's. i dont play on a simulator, i rough it with: a carry bag, long socks, thick slacks(sometimes with rain pants over them cuz that keeps me extra warm), 3 layers on top, and some sort of beanie. winter is usually slow and dreary, damp and dark, but when u shoot a good score on a cold and dark day, it feels better than anything
  5. getting another g5 wouldnt make too much sense. i say go for the g10 if you really like ping, or if you are looking for something new then tour burner tp it is
  6. i have no need to get another putter or wedges. mine are perfect. i am going to get a ust v2 put in my driver and 3 wood, and probably get a set of blades sooner or later
  7. i keep irons for a long time, but lately i think my average will change because this is the first year i have really taken club fitting seriously. before i just played with what i had
  8. one of my goals to reach before christmas break. just like 907 said, set your goals high and acheive great things. i aim to get to scratch by christmas break. it will be hard but its a good challenge for me cuz i have been playing well and the next time my handicap gets updated it should be around a 3 which is a 1 stroke improvement over the course of 3 or 4 weeks
  9. swinging that hard all the time would make me so tired
  10. if you are looking for new irons then go for it. otherwise i would keep what u have, but thats a great deal if u want slingshots
  11. wow 1.68 is incredible. gas in the nashville area is floating around $2.60 from what i have seen
  12. i love both of my scotty's, they feel really good. i use a prov1 usually just cuz of the line on the ball

    Loud Drivers

mg g10 is semi loud on miss hits. when i hit it flush tho it sounds great. i have known cobra drives to be extremely loud and obnoxious. i used to play a titleist driver and plan on getting a new one soon, i also love the way they sound
  14. I agree with Dub about the v2. i also played the 65g highlaunch in a 9.5 905s. i loved it until i got a bit stronger, because once you reach a certain speed with the 65g HL, anything after that seems to be really whippy and being able to place drives in certain spots on the fairway becomes a bit harder. i would reccomend the v2 highlaunch to you but in something around a 72g if your swingspeed is around 100 and you really swing at drives. the other end of the equation is what ball flight you like. if u like a mid-high, penetraing ball flight, i would get the highlaunch. if you like a little bit lower ball flight then the v2 is pretty much the same shaft but with a lower flight and less torque.
  15. 907 had a good idea about making a thread where us juniors could talk about college golf and similar things. i will start off by saying best of luck to everybody pursuing a scholarship in college at any level
  16. i was actually thinking the same about that kind of a thread cuz im 16 and im sure there are others on here with the same goal that are around that age. i will go ahead and start it since im on right now
  17. i have a few dII schools looking at me that I know of, but i am also going back and forth with hank haney about attending the ijga post grad school so i can have a chance to play for clemson because their coach is an incredible person. i have gotten to talk with him on a few occasions. another tweak to the situation is that im only a junior so i have a sufficient amount of time to play in tournaments and such. my handicap was a 4 over the past month because i was going through swing changes. i am just now starting to get back into my rhythm and turn in good scores. like today i shot 37 with 4 bogeys. i wasn't trying to sound full of myself, so i apologize for the wording. next time i will make sure to say it differently how bout that . peace bro
  18. the biggest thing for me is pressure to do well. cuz i am probably going to play college golf so there is always that possibility that you have a really bad tournament or play bad while a coach is watching you. also just playing tournaments is full of pressure in itself cuz ur competing to win and in my situation, the winning score will be around 144-145, which is even or 1 over through 2 days
  19. i have never used a jumbo grip. i have putted with a win avs grip for a few years and loved it. i recently switched to the avs midsize which is slightly larger and i like it far more than the normal avs. it seems that my stroke has become more consistent because it is harder to turn the face, which results in less offline putts. just my experience
  20. thanks but i have already looked at that and the only description it has it what type of ball flight and where the cg is
  21. found some 681s so i will probably get those if i win the auction
  22. i guess nobody knows
  23. if u hit the mizuno 9 iron 140 (which is a decent distance for a 9 iron), then i would go for mizunos and ask your buddy what shaft he has in them
  24. i regrip about once or twice every season, but i wash my grips about twice a month cuz i sweat like none other
