  1. I read somewhere that Kenny Perry plays the 2005 version of the ProV1 instead of the 08 or newer. ???? Not sure what thats all about either. You would think at least each year the ball would be better.
  2. Colts!!!!!!!!
  3. I was actually digging into these wedges a little bit last night online. I just googled 2009 Titleist wedges and found several sites to look at them. Of course the Titleist home page has some pictures on there as well. I seen they are offering the black satin finish this year. The bounces looked to be the same in most cases, with the exception of they added some higher bounce options. Didn't see much in the way of the grinds though. If you find anything good, I would be interested to hear about it as well.
  4. 6-9 new, and usually a few lost and found balls.
  5. 56* 12bounce. Short shots - open clubface. Little longer - more square. Make bunker play is bunk.
  6. I'd agree with the concept that the player impacts the score more than the technology. However, I gotta disagree with you that its concerning for mid and highhandicappers keeping up on the latest and greatest. I view it like the guy that has the hotrod in his garage and drives it once a month or so but tinkers around with it every night. This is enjoying for a lot of people. For me, playing golf is the best, but when I can't play; reading, chatting and examining new products gets me by until the next round. The idea of making product changes that will improve my game a lot or even a little is exciting.
  7. I usually sport Nikes. I currently wear some TW version and they seem to fit me well. Nice comfortable arches in them. However, when I buy, I give all the brands a shot. I think shoes is probably one of the items that will keep you the most comfy on the course. I did find some Etonics G-Sok shoe on sale a while back and bought them just to cut back wear and tear on my Nikes and I have been really impressed with them.
  8. Alma Mater is IU. I wear red every chance I get.
  9. You mentioned the following. " Second, I use soft ball but not a high dollar ball like the pro v1 or callaway tour balls." Make sure your not confusing the soft compression balls for soft spinning balls. There are soft compression balls with harder covers (distance). Then there are balls with softer outer layer which are the balls that will spin. A wedge change should help as well.
  10. Shorten your backswing up. It looks as if you are way past parallel and even almost pointing downward (John Daly). Also on the range tuck a towell under your left arm, and don't let it drop during your swing. This will help you groove a more compact swing. Follow through looks pretty good.
  11. No doubt Jack was the man. Tiger is the man.
  12. Not overly crazy about it either. I guess it is entainment. Celebrity + Golf skillz = magazine cover.
  13. I researched this a little when I was looking to buy a club back in the winter. I had some luck just by googling the club name and the word fake. I found some photos and everything for the particular club I was buying. I know fortunately manufacturers like Cleveland are putting halograhms on their shafts and club heads in attempt to cut back on some of the knock-offs.
  14. I have been playing the new Taylormade Burner Ball / not the TP version just the $20 dozen kind and loving them. They feel good off the irons and seem to reduce some of my sidespin. They also check up a little on green some for a cheaper ball. Also, I would suggest at finding some more tour quality but second hand balls. I would think those may be better than the warbird.
  15. I have used this towel drill myself several times and found it useful. I believe it was in one of the golf magazines a couple months ago. You're right about the concept of it attempting to promote a steeper path to impact versus sweeping at it. The one thing you may want to make sure you are doing is using a 5 iron or higher otherwise the length of your shaft will be longer and you will need to pull the towel further back. Another good drill that I use that is similar to this is placing a tee an inch in front of your gollf ball (right handed to the left of the ball toward the target) about a 1/2" out of the ground. Try hitting the ball and the tee to improve your contact.
