I guess I disagree with a lot of you. The OP didn't give the guy advice, he asked if he wanted advice. The guy responded no. It didn't sound like he was pestering him the whole round. I've had people do this same thing to me before, but I'm the kind of person who accepts tips. I've gotten some nice pointers over the course of time!

Thanks for the reply. The extender's I'm using are the universal ones from GolfWorks, you insert it, then tap this plug into the bottom and the "fingers" on the end of the extension expand to make a tight fit. Once I had done this, I couldn't pull the extension out.

I recently got new irons, but they are standard length. I need 1.5" added to them. I ordered some shaft extenders and wondered if anybody here can give me advice on installing them. I know the basic procedure, I'm looking for tips. I practiced on an old club, but I'm still not sure how secure it will be in the long run. This is what I did: 1. Removed old grip/grip tape 2. Mixed up the epoxy 3. Rolled the extension in the epoxy 4. Inserted the extension into the shaft 5. Tapped the expansion insert into the center of the extender 6. Waited 24 hrs 7. Trimmed the extension 8. Regripped the club When I grab the extension and torque it i hear a faint click or squeak as if it is moving some. Did I not use enough epoxy? Thanks.

If you are of abnormal size, it might be worth looking into custom clubs from a place like gigagolf. They have a wizard to fit you for the proper length clubs. They will be good quality clubs, plenty good for a beginner. You can get a whole set from them for well under your budget.

It could be, I guess I'm not sure how to shift weight without sliding the hips somewhat. No, the lesson wasn't at GG. This could be a problem as well, i recently got name brand irons (loving the feel). They are standard length, and I am planning on having them lengthened. I'm 6'5" with wrist to floor measurement of 40" so the charts say I should have shafts with 1.75" over length, but I think that might be a bit long for me. Should I stick with the charts, or go with +1 like I've used in the past? I've been using the impact stickers, love them!

Somebody posted the other day that they placed a penney 3" in front of their ball and aimed at that instead of the ball. I thought that was a really good idea, you should give it a try. You'll lose some money though ;)

I've been working on improving my swing lately. I had a short lesson and he said, ease up on your swing and work on shifting your weight and maintaining balance. I've improved my weight shifting dramatically; it has greatly improved my shot consistency and practically eliminated my slice. Unfortunately this has caused my point of impact to move toward the heel, and now I've started shanking which is something I've never had a problem with before. If I consciously aim behind the ball (toward me) I do much better. Unfortunately I forgot enough times that the head of my driver broke off of the shaft (hit the hosel too many times I guess). Should I continue to adjust my aim, or should I tweak my swing/setup so I don't have to consciously think about it (one less thing to worry about)? I tried backing away from the ball, but I automatically compensate for this and hit it in the same spot. Any suggestions are appreciated.

If you think it is a good idea, you could just buy a dozen of each and resell the sampler packs for a profit.

Once you get the clubs you should be able to call to see if they are in fact fakes.

I noticed this too, but you learn to trust it, when you don't you pay.

I decided to go for the fitting. I swung a few times, he said myclubhead speed is good, ball spin is good, my loft was a smidge low, and I need to work on my accuracy. My drives averaged 250, the machine said with my clubhead speed I should have been hitting 280. I thought that was funny as I had just asked that. He didn't charge me, then told me to go take lessons, haha. He said keep the shaft for now, then come back when I don't suck. He was nicer than that, but that was what I read into it.

If price is an issue...I got my Scotty on ebay for less than half of retail, it was a store demo, it was mint except for a little discoloration on the grip.

3 years ago I bought a TM R580, I hit it pretty well. Last year I got a good deal on a TM Tour Burner. I hit it like crap. The shaft is definitely different, I think it is lighter and it doesn't feel as stiff even though they are both 60s. I swing pretty fast my carry is: 5I ~180, Driver (R580) ~250 (when I hit it well) ~280 (if I really tag it) I went to shaftfit.com and it suggested a ProLaunch Platinum X for me. I have the following options (feel free to add another): 1. Just get the burner refitted with the prolaunch shaft 2. Pay GolfGalaxy $30 for a club fitting and use the shaft they recommend 3. Shelf the Burner

I think the question should be, will there ever be anybody as good as tiger?

I switched from a mallet style putter to a SC Newport Detour 2.5. I learned all about this thing called feel, it's nice! After the learning curve, my putt numbers took a nosedive :)

My CGB Max 3W has a very clean sound when I nail the sweet spot.

I'll take a picture for you tuesday when they arrive if you don't believe. Admittedly I feel a little bad, but they could have canceled all the orders if they wanted to, I wouldn't have been the least bit upset.

I recently used gigagolf.com to get new clubs. They have a great utility to fit the clubs for your physical characteristics. I'm 6' 5" and needed longer clubs with lie adjustment and midsize grips. I ended up with the GX920 irons (X-18 clones I think) after trying a few other iron sets from them out, they are true to their word of 30 day no risk trial. I bought 4-SW and a LW with upgraded shafts for $201 shipped. They are made well (17-4 stainless steel) and very nice looking. I'm still working on my game, but my old irons felt awful, these are tons better. My theory is, get equipment you are comfortable with and work on your swing until it is worth it to buy name brand equipment. Ebay is a good route for used equipment if you are of normal size, but if you need any kind of customization, I say go the gigagolf route.
