  1. This didn't happen to me, thank God, but I recently heard this story from an older family friend who I played a round with about a month ago. This family friend took up golf when he was about 50 because his company was going on a golf outing, and he really wanted to participate. The invitation said "Must have golf experience," and he had none. A couple days before the outing he hit a few buckets of balls on the range and thought that would count as enough experience. ...Anyway, he gets to the first tee and lines up his shot. Some poor soul is standing facing the golfer, directly to the right of his ball about twenty feet away. Normally that would be a safe position, considering the golfer is trying to hit the ball straight. He takes a swing and barely catches the ball, and toes it 90 degrees to the right, directly into the innocent bystanders crotch. He said the man let out a yelp like a helpless animal and fell to the ground. Apparently he had a rough couple of weeks, but ended up having children in the long run..
  2. That little gel triangle thing is pretty ugly. I have 2 chrome cg14s and I love them, but a lot of my friends have commented on the triangle. Personally, it doesn't matter to me, as its all about feel, not looks.
  3. I have been using cleveland CG 14s, and while they are a bit ugly, they are forgiving and quite nice. I definitely recommend them... most people who use the vokey spin mills swear by them tho... its all preference. I tried the vokeys and cleveland and preferred cleveland.

bad driving, but in particular bad highway driving... THE LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING!!!!!!!!
  5. Here in Denver there is a tiny Par 3 course called Harvard Gulch. At the end of last Summer, in the same day I saw the mayor, Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler from the Denver Broncos. This course costs 7 dollars to play and the longest hole is about 140 yards.
  6. I believe Alice Cooper is actually around a 2 handicap, and Tiger Woods himself said that he would not give him 2 strokes... which Alice regards as perhaps the best compliment he has ever gotten.. I read an article in some Delta magazine about 2 months ago on a flight to Florida... I think he has also written a book about it golf. That is pretty cool that your friend got paired up with him, must have been a great experience.
  7. I don't care who she is standing next to. After searching Natalie Gulbis on google images...I am a huge fan. I never thought stretching out with a golf club could be so.... awesome.
  8. Put the ball a little back in your stance and make sure you are hitting down on the ball. This will ensure you get the ball first and get proper contact and ball flight. The range always helps...try to hit the hundred yard sign with a bucket of balls
  9. I have a 4 wood and I love it off the tee as well. Also love that loud PIIING!...not to mention hitting it off the fairway is nice.
  10. I think Ogilvy should get more hype. The guy is so smooth and doesn't seem to have an apparent weakness. I'm a fan.
  11. Cinderella Story in 5th place with 761... Anyone interested in a $50 fantasy baseball league? I may have 1 or 2 open spots
  12. the hole is sexy
  13. Well have to get a sandtrap tournament. Im about to take down Tiger in the Tiger challenge, booya!
  14. Wow, shes a beauty! Thats pretty much the exact model I have been looking at. I just want to make sure I research and demo before I make the purchase. I currently have a Ping Craz-e putter. It is a heavy mallet. I left my clubs in Florida, so I have been playing with a friends extra set here in Denver. He has an old blade that I have been using, and I realized I have much better feel with the smaller putter. When I line up with the craz-e, its size and weight makes me focus on the putter, whereas, when I line up with a blade, I just think about the ball and where I want it to go. If you can make sense of that, then you can understand what I am dealing with at the moment. Thanks for all of your responses...hopefully soon I'll have my own Newport 2 midslant!
  15. its the same thing as modern warfare only in a world war setting with older guns, and you can use tanks
  16. which model would you guys recommend? I notice most people prefer the Newport 2 and I like the looks of it.
  17. great, thanks guys.
  18. I am thinking about selling my putter and getting a Scotty Cameron, maybe the Newport 2. Do you guys know where I can demo some of his putters? I was able to try 1 or 2 at the local Golfsmith, but that is it.
  19. xbox tag: FlexedGrundle Cod W at war gears 2 Rockband 2 battlefield bad company nhl09 fifa09 TIGER09 Skate 2 hit me up, i used to test video games so i can tear it up on occasion... mostly playing cod, gears2, skate2, rb2 and tiger 09.
  20. I have had the best experience trying out the balls I find on the course. Keep your eyes open and you will find tons of different balls. Try them for a couple holes or rounds and remember what you like about them. This way you have an idea of what you would like to try before you throw away 20 or 30 dollars on a dozen.
  21. A public course out here in Denver has some very good chicken fingers and fries. I've gone there with friends just to eat before...it seems everything off the menu is good.
  22. I definitely agree, that is why I made sure to point out that I'm a bit rusty. I have played a few rounds now and it keeps sneaking up on me every 5 holes or so but it seems to be slipping away. I've just had too long to think about my golf swing since it's not the season. It probably is just the rust but you never know... at least this way, if it pops up again later on, I'll know what the problem is.
  23. Wow, thank you. Slicer McGolf you gave me a lot to think about , I appreciate it. I am almost positive the answer lies within your response. Thanks again.
  24. The weather has been unbelievable lately in Colorado so I decided to play a few holes just to knock some of the rust off. For the most part, my shots were solid...but once every 3 tee shots or so (hitting with an iron,) I would take a huge divot, and the ball would go about 1/3 of the distance it normally goes. Obviously I was doing something wrong, but I am having trouble pinpointing it since it wasn't happening every shot. What do you do to adjust your swing when you are taking too much of a divot?
  25. I love playing at my local par 3 course, but I really only consider it practice and extra chances at a hole in one. Regardless, shooting under par is a great round...well done, now bring that flow to the big boy course.
