  1. One of the local courses here is the same. The range is between the 9th and 10th fairways and its heatbreaking when you see a ball in the middle of the fairway after you think you have a decent drive and when get to it theres a pretty red stripe around it. then i have to go on a easter egghunt through the range balls to find mine.
  2. I am having the same issue now and when i really concentrate and don't look down the target line before i hit the ball on the downswing I can hit some really good shots. I lose focus on keeping my head down quite often with ball striking and chipping. That's my biggest goal this year now since i cured most of my flipping.
  3. IF its anything like Kentucky then probably severe drought. We haven't had a good rain in 3 months and its looking pretty rough at my home course.
  4. That's what i do. S&T; for the full swing and Phil's DVDs for the 50 yards in. The only thing I tried and didn't like was Phils putting methods. I gave them a try for a couple months and just couldn't get the hang of it but the chipping is great and well worth the price.
  5. That's true. My preference is a push-draw so that's what I am going to try for awhile to accomplish. I hit most of mine straight with my miss hit being a hook so i am thinking a push-draw would be eaiser that a fade for me at the moment
  6. That's pretty much all I here when watching these show is how the harp on something they truly don't want to understand. I remeber when Dean Wilson was the Sunday leader in tournement earlier this year and the comments the annoucers were making that the swing was accurite but no power just cracked me up. I can't see how a so called expect can comment on anything with out trying it first. I have to admit the infomerical for S&T; made me laugh pretty hard and pass it up but since i took up the swing in June (thanks to Iacas and this forum) I have gained 2 club lengths and became way more accurite and all with out going to a PGA professinal for instructions. I truly think that's why Charlie said what he did. Its the constant trashing and people like Foley who made the comment he did that warrents the comments from Charlie. I might not have mentioned names but that's just me but I give Charlie Kudos for doing what he did and is was well over due. You make a good point about the opportunity passing him by.
  7. Yea he possibly shouldn't pulled Weir and Baddeley into it but when your passionate about something and believe its being attacked then emotions come out. I believe the stuff about Baddeley and Weir leaving is being used against Mike and Andy (by the media) and also the Foley's comments rubbed him the wrong way. Charlie is a firm believer in S&T; (like me) and when you see something you believe being shown in a negative light it gets to ya. I wish he would have saved it for Sunday and used it as more of motivation to win this weekend.
  8. We have one at our public course but you have to be a member to sign up.
  9. LOL That one's pretty good
  10. I am a S&Ter; but i knew sliding the hips before i switched by studying Hogan. I found S&T; made it easier for me to slide and that's why I switch (ooh and the whole hitting 80% of my shots fat).
  11. All I can say is wow! guess he never study Hogan and 99% of all touring Pros
  12. Me too. I try to just keep my arms agianst my chest if i get to much inside its a low hook.
  13. Same here but i would have Hogan at the top of the list and would love to have Phil one on one with the short game.
  14. I have used all 3 but I feel more comfortable with the overlap. Its all preference and what you feel most comfortable and confident with.
  15. I about fell out of my chair when i read this. My buddy use to do the same thing when he was younger. Ohh and about ball hunting yes but only when know one is behind us and if one of my group is in the tall stuff.
  16. 90% of mine is from the tee box with the drive. o.b.(sometimes twice of tee box). I just bought a new driver (higher loft R flex shaft) which i hope will help with this and will be putting it to the test tomorrow.
  17. Walked out from Erie sports with a 10.5 Titlest 909D2. Can't wait to use it!
  18. Well I went and test hit the Titlest 909D2 and walked out with it. 10.5 regular flex. It felt really good and can't wait to try it out.
  19. THat's great that its starting to kick in. i am on the fence witht the DVDs (not wanting to chuck that much money on them) but I did get the book and I am getting so much from it and really starting to see a big change in my game. THe book is well worth the read and for $17 bucks on amazon there really isn't a reason not to get it if your interested in the swing thought.
  20. Page 147 in the s&t; book say for mid irons 2 balls back from left heel for mid irons, move back for shorter irons and dead center of stance for wedges. My opionin since i am new to S&T; also is that you are possiable not having enough weight on your left (lead) foot or you are moving your weight slighly behind the ball instead of being 100% stacked over the ball. I have been there and had to really exagerate the hip movement toward the target till i got out of my old habits of hitting the bottom of my swing early.
  21. Played my second full 18 holes with stack and Tilt today and didn't have one fat shot which is a big plus and the reason i am giving S&T; a try. My iron shots are getting longer I hit a 9i on a hole i usually hit a 8i on and they sound much better coming off the club. I wound up with a 95 because of 3 lost balls on the back due to my driver and I know have to purchase a new driver because i hit the ball better and don't scoop the ball. i am having a hard time with the Callaway X 8.5 tour driver. The ball flight is much lower now and I am having a tough time keeping it straight and not slicing. I used my buddies 10 degree driver and hit a nice high draw on a few holes. I am saving up for a new set of irons but I am starting to hit them good so i am going to use the money to get a good regular shaft 10.5 degree driver to keep the O.B. out of play more. I am thinking about a Titleist 909D2 to help reduce spin. Would love some other good recommendations for others in the $299 and below category. I am going next week to try some out and might get fitted for it also
  22. Thanks! that's a pretty good drill to help me out.
  23. My main goal is to shoot in the mid to high 80s. Never have hit the 80s since playing. gotten close a few times but working harder this year more than ever.
  24. Played my first 18 today with S&T; and had a pretty good day. I only had 2 blow up holes that cost me my goal for this year but i have confidence that I will now break 90. I shot a 91 today and that is with a 9 and a quad on the score card. I lost one ball with my hybrid on the 191y par 3 when i faded it and it kicked right then hit another bad provisional and duffed one with my driver and it went into knee deep grass right off the tee box. I am pretty excited only after a week and half of S&T.; i haven't even got close to breaking 90 until now.
  25. I played 2 9 hole rounds since reading and practicing S&T; and i have to say I am sold on it. My first round I was setting on the tee box with 3 pars and 3 bogeys (pretty good for me) then i had a relapse and drove a couple out of bounds when my old swing creep-ed back up on me and i shot a 10 with the penalty strokes and on the 8th tee hit a beautiful drive but it rolled in the rough and couldn't find it and with stroke and distance shot an 8. all said and done I shot a 49 and I have shot better but I chalked it up to still learning the new swing. I went today and shot a 45 and the main cause of that was one 3 putt and a couple duff chips that cost me 3 D. bogeys and that was the worse score on my card. I hit 4 out of 7 fairways and 3 GIR and that is very rare for me to hit more that 1 than a round. no lost ball penalty shots and man i love not hitting Fat shots!
