  1. I'll have a look at the Ci7 irons now.
  2. Couldn't agree more. This is the most important think about golf playing to your strengths. You hear the pros bang on about it all the time so if you are a good wedge player don't make crazy attempts at hitting that par 5 green in 2, take it easy play it close for 3 and make an easy par and give you self a shot at birdie instead of missing the green for 2 and ending up in the water and having a settle for a bogey
  3. If your struggling with distance control my pro tells me to forget and the flag and instead of of aim for that focus on where you want the ball to land. The more you pratice the better you will become and knowing where to land the ball depending on the green speed, slope and lie. Using this method i find it stops me worrying about chunking it or hitting it too hard and into the rough. Hope its help you out.
  4. does ayone know any shops that stock mizuno putter. I'd like to demo you but i can't find one anywhere
  5. I have a regulary lenght driver not sure what length that is but i find that gripping down on the shaft makes me up to 50% more accurate which is a lot of different for a very minor change.
  6. Hi all, I'm probably luckier than most of you out there in the fact that i still get Christmas presents from my parents. I am try to decide what i should ask for for Christmas this year and so i need some advice. I am suppose to have a £350 budget for this Christmas for all my presents so its all going towards golf. I'm thinking about getting a stand bag as i only have a cart bag and i want to carry my bag, a set of new irons or a new 3-5 wood or maybe a new wedge. I'm currently a 28 handicap but i am improving quickly dropped 8 shots last month With my irons i struggle for distance and hight on my shots. With my woods i have the distance but lack accuracy. I currently play with bay hill woods and irons from a package set and have been told by somebody who works in a golf shop that they are rubbish. I have a good driver and 3 hybrid though Please give your opinion on my current clubs and whether i should consider getting new ones and if so could you guide on which clubs i should get for under £350 pounds or $650 dollars. thanks in advance.
  7. looks pretty sexy i must say
  8. Its probably just because you have got so use to your old grip and so when you change it can become very uncomfortable
  9. This is excactly how i would like ot play but like you say its easy to get distracted from your game plan.
  10. I have once been told that i play a bit like john daly. Useless most of the time but ever now and again pull of an amazing shot
  11. I agree that when people say 'golfing' it really annoys me however using golf as a verb seems fine to me.
  12. Well obviously there are more English people than i thought
  13. I have a friend who brought a R7 SuperQuad off e-bay for £90/$180 which he thought to be a great deal. He used it for about 3 months before he realized it was fake. To me it felt fine although not as sweet as my Callaway FT-3 but he hit it OK with a strong draw compared to his normal slight fade(notice how i didn't say good). His R7 came with an all black head cover instead of the usual red/yellow one. This is what made me suspicious. I told him he should let the club pro take a look at it. Once the pro had a look i turned off he had a fake shaft, fake movable weights however the club head was genuine. The pro said that he could replace those parts for £70 or $140. My mate didn't want to pay that so he asked the pro to hit it to see if its was OK to pay with. After 5 shots the pro said that the shaft felt like it was made from stone because it was so heavy and stiff and that because the weights where fake it gave the club a very very nasty hook biased. This meant that the club was pretty much useless. So he threw it in the bin and brought a Nike SQ2 This is my personal experience of fake clubs, however is this fake the same as knock off clubs because if they are i would strongly advise that you stay away from fakes like they were the plague. Hope that has given you another side of the story to consider when buying knock off clubs.
  14. Is there anyone from England out there. It seem that most people are from USA so I'm a bit left out
  15. Hi there i in England so a wee bit to far for a round but along withevery body else i would say don't be afraid to play alone.
  16. hi there, luckly I'm not from the USA
  17. hi there, I'm from england
  18. Hi there, i'm from england
  19. I would love it if ProV1s go extinct becuaseit would mean that my friend who plays them would have some money left to buy drinks
  20. I putt with a mallet for th reason that its easier to aim with and i feel more confident with i but i've never tryed a good blade putter i.e. scottie etc.
  21. I am a slicer a well so i might try out what your saying when i g to the range tomorrow
  22. I know just how you feel. I'm going through the same thing right now. I've completely changed my swing to combat my worst enemy, the dreaded slice. It is helping but becuase its new its uncomfortable and i really have to stop myself going back to old habits. Although at first i was carding in the 100s recently the hard work and weekly lessons are really paying off. I shot my best ever score in a 9 hole competion: 40 front nine which is 6 over at ou course. My main advice would be to just stick with it no matter how frustrating it is and practise practise practise.
  23. Agreed! I wouldpay good money to trade my fade for your draw. Stop complaining about being good at golf. Only joking.
  24. i ground my club when hitting off the deck but i hover whenever I'm using a tee. I find that hovering with my driver hels me to have a shallow backswing and stops me hitting down on it like i would with an iron.
  25. Personally i don't have th same problem as you. Do you have a wristy swing beacuse that might be the cause of your problem. Just a thought.
