Yes! I constantly beat myself up,use "bad language" to myself, and then realize a bogey is certainly better than work.Wait,Rob,what did you say? See, I`m doing it now!

David`s a funny man, maybe went overboard to some, but we have alot more to worry about in todays world.Leave him alone, cuz I really enjoy his articles and commentary.

None, None,None!

I`ve read thru some of the posts, and many come from fairly high handicapers.Concentrate on your game, play quick, and don`t let little things bother you.Pissing in the fairway, while embarrassing to be associated with that person, doesn`t make any noise.I don`t care what people do while I hit,I`m into the shot. I`ve realized long ago I`m not Tiger, and I have other things to do. Tee it high, let it fly,and play golf. You`ll enjoy it more!If your "buddy" upsets you enough to post,change"buddies/partners"

Tips for my wife who has never played
Rob replied to Leftygolfer's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I would try to get her in a womens league. Most would probably be novices, too, and she could meet new friends, compare outfits, have lunch, ect.I`d maybe help her on the range, but I`d go play with the guys and enjoy myself.Nothing more frustrating to wait to hit my second shot while she takes 10 whacks, excluding "whiffs",and of course has to go thru her pre-shot routine every time. Can you tell I`ve been there, done that? Good luck, though. It`s great she`s wanting to play. -
No,perfectly legal on the tee.

Are there any smaller head drivers left?
Rob replied to shades9323's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I`ve been using Titleist drivers for some time now.Used the 983K and went to the 905S,which has about a 420cc head,as opposed to the 905T and 905R,which are 460`s.My 905 got stolen, went to the 907 D2,hated it,and bought another 905 S on ebay, like new,for $80,shipped,and I`m killing it. I`ve also got a Cobra 400cc.I`m with you on the smaller heads.I just seem to generate more speed without swinging a canalope on the end of a shaft. -
When I lived in Dallas back in the late 70`s-early 80`s,I went to the Byron Nelson at Preston Trails alot.Got to see Nickalus,Palmer,Watson,Player,Floyd,Trevino, ect. Also,The Danny Thomas in Memphis.Got "comp" tickets to the PGA at Southern Hills from Fred Couples{ a frat brother at Arkansas grew up with Fred, and caddied for him that week}, and Fred finished 3rd! Those were the days! I prefer HD TV today-less hassle, cheap, and the beer is only 15 feet away!I`ll try the Masters, though,if I live long enough.

Holler back when you break 70.

I would suggest learning "course managment".Unless you want to be a "scramble player" for your drives, tone it down and learn the rest of the game.I really doubt you hit it 350-360,but if you do,great! But,I`ll take my 53 year old 240 in play, and I`ll wear you out!!!I love to play "long drivers" for $$$! Worry less about distance, and more about A to B to C.

I`ve been on the wrong end of several "pencil whippings" in charity events, although we did win one at 21 under. We got $50 gift certificates! The main thing about charity events is to remember they are fund raisers-just eat up a bunch of food, drink all the free beer you can,and have fun!Let the *******s that need to cheat cheat.I doubt any of them are entered in the next stroke play event at your club! Just have fun!

I think Phil is just a "puss" I`m sure a lot of other athletes have to go thru this, but don`t bring it up to the media. Looks like Tiger`s game`s getting back- I hope Tiger rips him a new one,and he will!

I`ve been using a Master Grip glove for at least 7-8 months, trying to wear it out! It won`t tear, ect. I`ve got 12 new gloves waiting on it. In my experience over the years,it seems the "high end" gloves seem to die the quickest. I`ve had stiching in the fingers of FJ gloves blow out after 1 round.I guess you gotta go by feel, whatever is best for you.

I think used balls are the way to go if you get a good quality ball .I`m a pretty decent golfer, and I buy from Lostgolfballs.com. Never been disapointed, the AAA`s are like new for the most part.I get bang for my buck, and use the extra I save for clubs, green fees, tournaments. But that`s just me,frugal.
-
If you`re looking for a good set of clubs, cheap, try the Ping Eye 2`s.They are very forgiving and you can still play them as your game gets better, and then "graduate" to a diffrent set later.Just my 2 cents, and you might save enough to get a nice wedge or putter! Good luck!
-
Why should it bother you if someone plays a "Pro V"? It`s probably because they`re beating your ass,or you can`t afford them. But,really, I`ve played every ball out there, and the Pro V`s perform very well for me. And,I can tell the difference in feel. The Callaway HX Tour 56 is a good ball as well. Try Lostgolfballs.com. The AAA`s are just about new,and you can really experiment with different brands without spending a fortune. For many, golf is a status thing-handicap 23 with a $2000 set of clubs,$300 in wardrobe, ect.Might as well play the best ball to.

I play a 9 hole course that has very small greens,2 island par 3`s,and most of the approach shots over water on the other holes, with OB around the greens as well.I like the smaller greens-places a premium on approach shots.I agree with another poster-big greens and I get lazy. I`d rather have a pitch to the green as apposed to an 80 foot putt that breaks 3 times.Figure I can do as well with a wedge in that situation. It`s all about the "aiming juice",though.Sometimes you get a bad batch!
-
Hell,no!

I don`t throw them any more. But,one time I got a old wedge out of the cart barn, and when I hit my approach about 10 feet left of the flag while playing our Sunday game, ,I put my club in the bag, took out the old one, told my partners" You know,I just paid $110 for this club, and if it won`t work better than that,I don`t need it"I threw it in the middle of the lake. You could hear nothing but silence, and the boy`s talked about it for weeks in the 19th hole.Never told them any diffrent!

I changed sets about 25 times 4 years ago,but have only had about 6 sets this year.Playing Mizuno MP 30`s now,and if they continue to act right, they`ll stay in the bag.
