i hit the r7 425... its just not my style... i just hate these 460 heads... its like swinging a coffee can on a stick, i wish they'd bring back the launcher 400.... im not consistent enough to get one of the titleists drivers....

ive owned 3 different models of ping hoofers and ive loved them all. i tested out a freestyle a couple weeks ago.. they are light but im not sure their exact weight... i liked the strap design but ive grown tired of the 4 way divider... honestly.. if you buy a new bag that weighs 4 pounds... is one pound realy gonna make a difference?

seriously looking into one of these...

i just picked up an older model titleist 983k. i love the look of it at address but havent gotten used to hitting it yet. anybody ever had one of these drivers??

other than the r7... who else makes drivers with a head smaller than 460cc??

i like boo's and tigers... i think bubba's swing is kinda funny looking, the hip turn just seems to bee too much, but whatever works i guess...

I Need Your Club Advice/Help, please!

if you're really that inconsistent why not try a different ball?? ive found that helps sometimes... prov1's aint exactly for inconsistent ball strikers... wouldnt hurt to have some cavity backs... but im a firm believer in buying clubs out of your skill range so you learn to hit the ball right, instead of buying stupidly offset clubs that fix your slice for you... -
new club come tax time. Thoughts?
-BAMA- replied to I KyotE I's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i grew up with a dad who refused to play anything but ping irons.... so i do lean towards pings more with my purchases... i noticed you're looking for forgiveness.. yet you picked the i-10 model irons if you want a more forgiving ping iron.. id personally go with the g10's. ive hit both.. the g10's are more forgiving, but harder to hit draws and fades... for me at least... -
Question about Golf Balls
-BAMA- replied to Willard46's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
bridgestone e6. -
how bout this... take one of your old wedges and do a skim cut on it untill it's smooth with no grooves.... then take a new wedge out with square grooves, hit the exact same shot with the exact same ball at the exact same lie.. see what happens...

i think ol' Boo is just fine the way he is. performance comes before appearance.

yes i do and so does everybody i know. we all have our own distinct waggles too...

you can hear them walking across the parking lot.. up the steps, across the deck.. towards the first hole.. and anytime they step on concrete... i definetly knew when someone was coming, back when they were still legal

financial stuff, thinking about moving out, got questions
-BAMA- replied to Voiceontapex's topic in The Grill Room
heres my 2 cents.. take em or leave em.. im just trying to help you from my own experience... i moved out when i was 18. got an internship.. made what i thought was "big bucks"... got an apartment.. bought a jeep... threw 14k worth of parts on the jeep.. broke it every weekend on the trails... threw more money at it.. lived off cereal and hamburger helper.. got married at 20. bought my first house at 23.. sold the jeep for 7k bucks even though i had over 25k in it by the time of sale (the body looked like a crushed coke can and the 1 ton axles were broken.. so i actually came out on top ).. bought a reliable truck and my wife a new car, now a baby is on the way... my advice is to sell your car and get one with a smaller payment and focus on paying it off before you move out of your parents house... then buy you a starter house rather than rent. i'm only 24 now... and looking back, wish i had never bought and built that jeep or rented that apartment.. at least you can sell the house and get your money back plus some left over... id have alot more money in my pocket now and i wouldnt had to endure all the financial hardships i went through. living paycheck to paycheck is never fun.. so why do it if you aint got to? debt sucks. i was young and had to learn the hard way... dont do what i did.. -
personally.. i hate metal spikes. i dont see why you even want a set. that said... theres a local muni close to my house that still allows metal spikes...nobody wears them on that course. ive slipped and fell several times walking down a concrete incline in the parking lot/cartpath with them.. and they dont give that much more traction than soft spikes.. or they didnt with me at least. ive played with tennis shoes before... when i refused to take the 2 stroke penalty after hitting my ball in a drainage ditch that had maybe 3 inches of water in it and i slipped and fell in it after my swing and got my golf shoes wet... i went into the parking lot and put my tennis shoes on and it didnt affect my playing ability... if metal spikes are banned at your course.. dont even think about wearing them. if you dont get caught walking to and from the pro shop with them on, theres a good probability someone playing behind you will call in after seeing your spike marks on the green... are they worth getting kicked out or banned over??

ive done something similar to this a couple years ago... make it different where they dont "look" exactly alike and dont even think about engraving scotty cameron or titleist or even scotty anywhere on the club. if you dont do the above and dont attempt to sell it as a "scotty" you will be completely fine. everybody copies everybody nowadays.... i wouldnt worry about it buddy... it would be cool to have a putter you made yourself...

why the g10 hybrid out of all the other ones offered?? i love ping as much as everybody.. but what makes this specific one stand apart from the rest? just a question....
-
i play the ping isi-k irons... and ive searched this site and many others but cant find much info on these... are these considered decent irons?? they feel like a blade on misshits and they have a very thin topline compared to some of the cavity backs out nowdays... who here has played a set of these and how did you like them?? all isi lines included...
-
only hybrid ive ever hit was a baffler.. and i hated it with all i had (it was stupidly offset and i hooked every shot).. but im looking into getting a hybrid for my home course... theres a par 3 where i have to carry the ball 190+ yards over water up to an elevated green.. and ive been told its a perfect setup for a hybrid. not sure what kind i'll get though.. i need to go hit a bunch of them. the look at address doesnt bother me that much.. but ive noticed the steel shafted ones feel a bit shorter and feel like an iron... so i'll probably go with one of those since i play my long irons better most the time than i do my fairway woods..
-
i have a 4wd RC rockcrawler that looks exactly like my old jeep and i used to play with it all the time. id stack watermelon sized rocks in the yard and just crawl all over them with it... but ever since the low-range quit working it just jumps off the rocks and smokes the tires everywhere... it isnt much fun anymore...

Best Ball for High Handicapper?
-BAMA- replied to juanrjackson's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
ive played the callaway warbird, noodle long and soft, noodle+, taylor made burner, top flite freak, nike powersoft, titleist so/lo, and bridgestone treosoft balls in the last 3 months. im a high handicapper and i slice occasionally (bout twice per 18 holes)... but thats a swing flaw.. not the ball itself.. personally.. ive had tremendous success with the bridgestone treosofts... now i know it isnt a popular ball.. but it suits me very well... ive literally bombed most of my drives off the teebox and they have performed near perfect with my wedges... i actually found a prov1 in the woods 2 weeks ago and dropped it beside my treosoft at 60 yards from the green and hit pitched both of them...the bridgestone bit the green better (for me anyways....) -
i remember when i first got my license... first thing i did was go get my buddy and take him to the walmart parking lot to burn rubber and impress the girls.... the first year i got my license was the absolute worst year as far as my driving skills go.. i got myself in all kinds of situations i should have never been in.. i tried to drag race everybody that even looked at me funny at the red lights and i did doughnuts and burnouts constantly.... then my dad sold the truck (silverado 454ss) and forced me to drive his old jeep because it only had 1/4 of the motor the truck had.... well.. i started taking the jeep off-road all the time instead, and bout killed myself twice... almost rolled off a 30 ft ledge once and caught myself sliding sideways down a steep hillclimb and somehow got lucky.... i didnt grow up untill i got pulled over by the cops for the 3rd time.... paying for that ticket out of my pocket really taught me a lesson.... then after that it was all peaches and cream... i'm 24 now and still alive. my advice for you is to get your kid a vehicle that has less than 426 horsepower.. and maybe a 2 wheel drive...
