  1. I've hit it and kinda like it I just don't know about the grooves that go all the way across the club face ( whats that all about anyway) so I'm just looking for some opinions on this club, Any MP 600 users out there.
  2. Amen to that, what I did was made sure I kept my putter on line but let the face rotate open just a little bit this helped to take some tension I did'nt even know I had in my hands out of my stroke. I realized I had that tension just putting around with my son in the house by accident, once I figured out how to get rid of it my distance control got alot better and my feel came back,so I could just get a line and go and if I missed I still only had a short put to come back on.
  3. Dimples create drag which effects spin if you hit a ball with no dimples on it it will still spin because of the loft and the grooves do grab the ball which does effect the spin also but a ball with no dimples will just fly out maybe between 100-175 yds and then just pretty much drop out of the sky. There are no exacts on which dimple design is the most efficient but it deffinitley effect's spin and spin is what makes the ball rise and carry, of course you have ball speed launch angle and all of that, that depends on distance, but yes dimples ball cover material, loft, groove volume and club face material all effect spin rate, and also the most important thing is how well you strike the ball .
  4. This sounds like a problem! Check and see if your dropping your right shoulder through the swing either that or your pulling the club down with your hands instead of starting with the hips and letting your hips shoulders and arms follow this will cause a very steep angle of attack and fat and ocassionally thin shots. one question do you pop fly your driver alot too.
  5. I think you could definately benifit from it, Iagree with the par three course or from the front tees I also think if you can at least get 2 more clubs maybe a hybrid 3 iron and a pitching wedge to give you an idea of how the different clubs will react to different shots you should be able to buy demo clubs for cheap from a local club dealer or tgw has returned and demos you can buy, this will also give you a better club selection no matter the length of the par three, google par threes in your area I'm sure you'll find at least one if not more, good luck on your game and have fun no matter what.
  6. We would all love to know that we're going to hit a geat drive every time we tee it up,but I know what you mean, I think you should get your swing checked out before you spend money on a driver get straightened out first, that way you'll know instead of buying the wrong driver again than getting lessons and finding out the driver you just bought is wrong and having to buy another one.
  7. I'ts unanimouse the GAP WEDGE, hit a couple at different lofts say 50*,51*or a 52* see which one fills the yardage gap best between your p-wedge and s-wedge.
  8. Try the Bridgestone b330rx there great and about 42.00 a dozen.
  9. Mines pretty good I have off days with the putter, that kills me, I'm not a long baller averaging between 240-250 off the tee I play with guys who consistantly hit it by me 20,30even 40 yds but I win more times than not because they can't hit a wedge to save ther life. Hows your short game stack up to guys you play with.
  10. I think it would'nt hurt to have one to swap out ifyou need to,I carry one and love it, as far as finding one that's workable Taylormade makes a TP model and Titleist makes a real good one I'm sure you won't have a problem with either of these I think there more consistant than a iron and easier to get out of the rough, all you have to do is put a good swing on one of those babies and watch it go.
  11. Honestly I don't think you would notice a difference,I'm sure there close enough in quality to pretty much be the same.
  12. Amen to that I spin the ball a lot more than all the guy's I play with and maybe they could use more groove volume but I almost hate to buy tour level balls because there not going to last more than one round if that,I could spin my 990's pretty good with v groove's now with new square groove irons and wedges I'm really putting zip on the ball.
  13. Dude, if I've ever played balata I honestly don't remember, the hot bite is not a bad ball but if you want to play a good ball try the bridgestone B330, B330RX,or the B330 S also if your looking exclusivly ay Callaway look no further than the Tour ix a great ball.
  14. An open face helps if you fight a hook which alot of better players especially tour pro's have a problem with, it's kind of the same with the draw driver's most are set up 1* or more closed to help fight the slice so the companies make clubs that help all levels of play, or more accurate to help with all kinds of problems most high handicappers fight a slice some low handicappers fight a hook, so basically the advantage is to help you hit fairways no matter which way you spray the ball.
  15. tgw.com, rockbottomgolf.com,golfgalaxy.com and of course e-bay look around and you can get some real good deals, if I find enything else I'll be back.
  16. I agree it was hard but I switched from titleist maybe for good because of the quality I got from Mizuno, no knock to Titleist but IMO I think Mizuno just makes a better iron hands down.
  17. [QUOTE=Pinseeker81;242441]I'd say if they're too young to stand on their own they're probably too young to golf. Laying on your back just promotes a far too shallow swing plane and they'll hook it all over the place.[/QUOTE so starting them while there still in the bouncy chair is out of the question then?
  18. Yeah,I'll do that as soon as the snow melts for good and I agree even though my dad has a terrible attitude about how he plays I still have more fun playing with him and my little brother than anyone else, it's like it just means more to be out there,ya know , even though I have to break them up about 9 out of 10 times we play.
  19. I play the mx 25 I love them it took a little while (almost all of last season) to get used to the bigger size (from my old 990's) but I really like them, at the time I did'nt think about miximg up 25's with 57's or I probably would have done that and probably will next set.
  20. I think a 4-wood sounds good to, and then you could do like fab says and use a couple of hybrids or if you like go with a 7-wood that would be like a 4hybrid, it really just depends on what clubs you'r already carrying, if you put that on here you'd probably get alot of feedback on the different setups you can carry.
  21. I've had the same problem especially when it's wet out or on soft fairways I've left pitch marks in fairways and sometimes there in front of my ball when I get to it, frustrating is'nt it?
  22. Assuming that your 3-wood is 15* I would drop the 16*hybrid, since one degree should not make a difference,(although with the difference between a hybrid and fairwaywood you really can't tell until you get out on the course oron a launch monitor) thats what I would do anyway.
  23. Check your shoulder alignment make sure that your shoulders are not to open ,I went to japan in july for 2 weeks and when I got back that was my problem so when I would come through the ball on my down swing I would be really steep and outside in causing these really I mean really high weak slices and fades I normally hook the ball when I make a bad swing, also my left arm was breaking down and getting away from my body on my way through the ball, so what I did was at address once I got set I would kind of roll my left shoulder up and in so that it kept my left arm stable through the swing and did'nt let me sort of chicken wing it.
  24. Thanks everybody for your input. Jeremy
  25. Wow, the old vacuum cleaner, my son has done the same thing many times it's pretty funny, and thanks I'll check the book out.
