Wasn't there an English guy on here documenting his path to playing at a tour level?

Thanks Zippo! Exactly the type of recommendation I'm looking for. Makes it great value compared to what we have to fork out North of the border.

Quick question for Washington State golfers: Heading down to see the pre-season game versus the Broncos from Vancouver, BC. My buddy and I are thinking of catching 18 holes somewhere on the way down... we are both weekend warriors / hacks... any suggestions for relatively easy playing public or muni courses worth stopping in to play? Thanks in advance!

@David in FL you are only 272 posts behind him. If you stick to your average of 2.3096 posts per week since you signed up, you'll break that in approx 117 weeks. Good luck. ;-) And well done @Ernest Jones -

I love to see these ads appear on eBay. I used to spend hours looking for skis (in search of old all metal race bindings), you can always tell the guys looking to "profit" from these circumstances, the adverts are often poetic: "lightly used, include boot clamps etc" when asking $300 for 40 year old skis with ZERO value. -
I thought you might have a latex allergy... I had a somewhat similar day on the course. Wednesday's driving range session was great, not a single slice with the driver - the driver did not behave as well on the course - but I still had a great round. I believe I actually play "stupid monkey" golf so I just need to keep training so that my stupid swing is the same as my rehearsed swing.

"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge (August 2015)
parlor replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
OT, but @ nthehunt526 can you tell me more about Alina's game, PM if you like! Sounds amazing. 8/7/2015: Played 18 holes on a local course. 3 weeks ago I shot 108, today I shot 93. The smart practice is paying off. Driving wasn't great. Everything else was pretty solid - for a high handicapper - one blow up hole, par 5, put my 3rd shot into a greenside bunker... On Sunday night I plan to review the week and put together a proper plan for the following week. (Almost finished LSW). -

How to Grip a Golf Club, Commonalities of a Functional Golf Grip
parlor replied to mvmac's topic in Swing Thoughts
@mvmac On your advice, I'm working on getting the club into the fingers on my lead hand. I see this is your trail hand in the photo above BUT I felt like my fingers (on my lead hand) were getting pinched in the same place as the calluses on your trail hand, is that something I should be feeling? Thanks in advance... :) -
"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge (August 2015)

8/3/15: Working on my grip after @ mvmac commented in my "My Swing Thread" Swung my 7i in the my yard - a confined space. Kept working on the grip and sing plane. Felt good just wish I could be hitting balls... Was due to hit the Pitch & Putt tomorrow but my buddy canned it. I hope to get to the range. -
Thanks for that Mike, I'll add it to my list...

I've been Playing Golf for: 30 years.** See Below My current handicap index or average score is: ~20 My typical ball flight is: Random? Getting straighter again. Too much slice. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Massive slice off the tee. SO I played lots of golf as a kid, pretty decent like lots of high school heroes. Averagely athletic and adequately intelligent enough to play golf in the 75 - 80 range of my local course (pretty decent private club). Massive break due to (initially) an injury and then the age old money / time and time / money scenario. Picked up the bug this spring, working on getting my swing shape back. When I started back up again I had a massive wrist flap going on so I've mainly been working on flat wrist, hip movement / weight transfer. This is the first video I have seen of my swing in 20+ years. On the little screen it looked OK. When I moved the camera to the caddy position it was hard to see my address, so I moved the mat and then first swing with the driver hit a structural member on the bay. It was a Eureka moment. The following caddy view videos were shot after, and whilst my swing plane wasn't perfect it was way better than my DTL swings. I was using a GSA too, I'll try to find a way to post up the data. Here's my first ever video... I just got a copy of LSW and looking at some really productive practice sessions to try and salvage some of my previous form. Videos:

"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge (August 2015)
parlor replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
8/2/15: ~75 balls at the range today. ~25 x 50-75 yard pitching wedge ~30 x 7 iron ~20 x Driver Took my video for the first time thinking I would post a swing video. It was very eye opening. I'm an ex-golfer who's found the bug again; I'll post more details for anyone bored enough to read it with a my swing video soon. After shooting some DTL footage I ended up moving the mat back in the booth for a better side / caddy angle. First time I swung my driver I whacked a support structure of the bay I was in. Eureka moment as I knew that meant my swing was as flat as a pancake. I have actually been working with a coach telling me the same thing but I was not seeing / feeling his explanation. All previous drives were slices. After I hit the side and then straightened up my plane - boom - a perfect draw. A great day on the range... -

I remember an awesome bumper sticker back in the day, Windows 98 = Mac '88 Sorry, didn't mean to turn this into a Windows Vs Apple debate. After all, OS X is already 10.10 But to be 100% honest this is the first time that Windows has launched anything that has made me think they are trying to get ahead of the curve instead of constantly chasing (near) perfection. And they have finally gotten rid of Internet Explorer!

Looking for advice on a "progress plan"
parlor replied to jkelley9's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I'm in a really similar boat to you too. My copy of LSW should arrive any day now. I've just got back from 90 balls at the range. I was testing my new 3 Bays Golf Swing Analyzer. I was probably too distracted by the new gadget to have had a very good "practice session," I think it was worth it though. I kept reading "feel ain't real" on these boards and my GSA is really showing that right now. I just finished reading Ben Hogan's 5 Fundamentals of Golf. I have a new notebook (nothing in it yet LOL) but my plan is to put together a proper plan. I'm hoping LSW will start to put that side of my golf progress on track...
