  1. Yes. Please do yourself a favor and get yourself re-fit. No need to buy a whole new set of clubs right now. If you like the clubs keep them! A proper fitter will be able to tell what needs to be changed. My guess is that they are way too short for you, and the lie is off. You can get extensions put in the shafts to make them the proper length and correcting the lies are easy enough too if need be. You would be surprised how much better you will hit the ball with clubs that are fit for you.
  2. That's all tacki-mac really is. They have decent grips that they try to make look like GP and other grips for much cheaper. They are ok grips. Better than what most people play with right now anyways. If your on a budget go for it, if not spend the extra couple of bucks and get a set of Golf Pride grips.
  3. Jeez how far do you expect to hit a fairway wood off the deck? 220 is pretty good given your handicap. I can't imagine you would gain much more than 5 or so yards, maybe ten by switching.
  4. Stricker uses the 755's. Only reason i know is because i too play those.
  5. damn i have a few sets of wilson forged blades from the 60's that i could still poke today. Not saying that they make clubs like they used to back then, but your clubs should last you a long time if you take care of them!
  6. Alright. L represents a Ladies Flex. Its going to be more "Flexable" than say an R-Flex. Kickpoint works this way: A shaft with a high kickpoint promotes a low penetrating flight. A low kickpoint will promote a high ball flight. Go to your local shop and try some different shafts. It may be your swing, but i would put money on that if you went to something with an r-flex or something with a high kickpoint, you will get the ball lower. hope that helps
  7. You might be doing yourself more harm than good doing that. Why wouldn't you just use the clubs you normally do? Im guessing those blades would be hard for a good player to hit, so trying to practice with those doesn't really make sense. I get you can receive more feedback, but it doesn't help when you can barely hit them to begin with
  8. An R Flex should be an R Flex with steel and Graphite. Having said that, im guessing without knowing what kind of shafts you are using, your Graphite shafts are little bit softer at the tip, which makes sense, which would result in more of a fade. If this ball flight troubles you, you can get your woods tip cut a little bit more to make them stiffer, or get them re-shafted all together. That's only if you don't like the ball flight you currently have. Those options will correct your fade, but could get costly depending on which route you go. Hope that helps a little!
  9. Try an Oversize grip. With mits like those you'd be surprised as to how much better those will feel. I wouldn't recommend playing different sized grips. Stay consistant through out the set. What ever you do, do go back to playing STD sized grips because those won't help you out in anyway!
  10. Please try before you buy. don't buy a shaft off of a recommendation from someone here. People can give quality ratings to a shaft but one shaft for one person may not even be close to being the right shaft for another. I like the idea though. What shaft you are using, why, and some swing characteristics to help people understand what you are trying to achieve with that shaft can get people off in the right direction. I'm using an Aldila NVS. Its a bit older but I do enjoy the feel of Aldila shafts. Most of the theirs are a bit tip softer than others meaning they may not be as stiff out of the box. I simple cut off the tip can help that. The kick point in my shaft is a mid. I'm thinking about getting something with a higher kick point to give me a lower ball flight though as I want a more penetrating flight. Its a 65S and i would never want to go heavier than that, lighter maybe but not much heavier because i like to get a good feel of the club head through the swing!
  11. Grafalloy makes a good shaft, but being a club making Ive never been a fan because they are so brittle! we would have to be so careful putting them in the vice in fear they might split or crack!
  12. aldila is one of the most respected shaft company. They make great products. You have a great shaft and club, enjoy!
  13. Well I guess they aren't technically the bands, but I have the dynamic black gold shafts and similar to project x they have the big band on the shaft. I know that all project x's are usually down, but i shafted my own clubs up and had the choice.
  14. All my shaft bands are logo down and my tour velvet grips are as well. You got to look good before you play good!
  15. I have golf shot. The reviews don't lie. Its a great app and works wonderfully. Very accurate and for $30 or what ever it is, how can you really pass it up? They have a ton of courses and are adding courses all the time. I love it and highly recommend it!
  16. Your kidding right? You think becuase a little polyester stands between my phone and the sky, thats going to affect the gps accuracy? I really don't believe you, one because that doesn't make sense, and two because i have been doing that for a year and have 0 problems and i know im not the only one.
  17. Mine is on my iphone, so naturally it just sits in my pocked of my pants or on the outside pocket. The phone is slim and light enough that it has never bothered me during the swing while its in my pocket
  18. Its a light, but strong tap with a metal punch and a hammer. All you want to do is make a slight dent or puch in the shaft. you don't want to put a whole in the shaft and you don't want to collaspe the shaft. We usually do this a a very hard surface such as the flat part of a vice. It takes two people to do this, one to hold the shaft and club parallel to the ground and the other to do the actual punching. If your brave, it a sure way to never have those extensions come out. Trust me you would have to torch the crap out of the extension and shaft to get them out. Do this at your own risk, but once you get the hang of it, its really easy and effective
  19. Done many extensions. We usually use scrap shafts, but im assuming you don't have any lying around. Make sure you get metal extensions and nothing else. All that plastic and graphic crap will break for sure. When you epoxy the extension into the shaft make sure that the shaft is parallel with the floor at all times. You don't want the epoxy to run down the shaft. Let the shafts dry horizontally for 24 hours before cutting them. then just cut them to length. when you put the tape on the shaft to grip them, make sure you put some masking tap on the extension so that diameter lines up with your shaft diameter if it doesn't. If you don't do that, it may feel very weird with the grip on. Its pretty simple, hope that helps. P.S. I don't know if this is something you yourself want to try, but when we do extensions, we "Punch" the extensions. What that involves is taking a hammer and a metal punch and putting the club on a flat surface and popping a dent into the shaft on both sides. Not putting a hole, but a good dent in the shaft right below where the extension goes in. I will guarantee you that extension will never come out on its own. Like i said i don't imagine this is something you want to try on your first time, but its great for securing the extension in the shaft.
  20. I think thats the same with many. The way everything just works together when it comes to things from apple is amazing. It seem like you are then locked into just using their products, you aren't, but im ok if that's the way it is. Everything like i said works so well and compliments everything else.
  21. Switched to a mac for college about 3 years ago and will never go back to a pc again. Everything with a mac is seamless and so easy to use. Got myself an Iphone last summer and the two together are a perfect match. I don't want to sound like a cheap advertisement or anything like that, but i truly love my computer and phone. I will be buying a new mac soon and will continue to buy iphones.
  22. i would like to know as well. Im looking at that and the Comp version.
  23. oh i agree that makes absolutely no sense..
  24. The only reason they keep adding length to the shaft is because the average golfer is not smart enough to get it. They think, damn i hit this club a ton. I can work on my swing to straighten it up. They don't realize that they will never be able to control a longer shafted driver.
  25. very true! Nail polish remover will just stink up where your working, but will defiantly do the trick!
