  1. Sorry man. I dont know how I completely missed that post. Thanks!
  2. Again... could you please tell me what the sellers name was? You can instant message me if youd like.
  3. If you dont mind, who on ebay did you get them from, and how do you know they are fakes? Is it really obvious? I got my Taylormade's off of ebay from someone with like 25,000 feedback at 100% but still sometimes wonder......
  4. Ive hit blades tons. While I do agree that there isnt anything to be afraid of, I dont really understand why someone with a 20+ handicap would want to hit them. Just because you CAN hit them, doesnt really mean you should be gaming them. People also say, "you cant work the ball with GI irons" and stuff like that. This is TOTAL BS. I sit and watch my pro hit draws/fades/hooks, whatever he wants with my irons. I dunno, I sometimes think people try to step up to blades due to ego reasons as apposed to "I really cant work the ball like I want to with cavity backs" reasons. This is just ridiculous to me. This game is hard enough as it is, why make it any harder on yourself just to look cool/better than you are when there is proper equipment out there for all skill levels. Also, to the OP, when I say "you" in this post, im not necessarily referring to you... just the figurative you.
  5. How did it only end up being 900$? On the site its like 1300$.
  6. Im 100% positive it has to do with your right shoulder. (if you are right handed) Really focus on trying to keep that shoulder back. If you start your downswing with a forward motion with that shoulder, theres only one path for the club to take after that. Over the top.
  7. This is funny to me, because im the exact opposite. When I go out by myself, I just dont seem to really have the drive or something. I dont want to say its boring by myself, but it just isnt as fun. When im out with people, I seem to try a bit harder, and get a little competitive. Not to mention, I like people to see when I make those great shots. Its funny, every time I play alone, I have this little nightmare in my head where I get a hole in one, and theres no one around to legitimize it. On all the par 3's I secretly hope it doesnt go in the hole! Crazy I know, I know... what can I say?
  8. Driver: 250-280 depending how im swinging 3w: 225 ish 5w: 200-210 4i: 190 5i: 180 6i: 170 7i: 160 8i: 150 9i: 140 PW: 125 52: 110 SW: 90-100 60: 90 and in
  9. I dont understand how you can have a 14 handicap and not know these rules!? EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it... that makes perfect sense!
  10. I dont think anyone is arguing the benefits of taking provisionals. I think that we are all pretty much thinking of that time when you hit a ball just off into the rough, where it should be very easy to find; but for some reason it isnt. I mean, do you really hit a provisional EVERY TIME you miss a fairway?? I sure as hell dont. I think im fairly liberal with provisionals, but theres always those times when you just cant find the damn ball when your tee shot was on a perfectly reasonable line. In this situation (if the course is busy) as stated above, Ill take 2 strokes and be laying 4 in the area where the ball should be.
  11. Nope not me! Thats because when you have a strong right hand and actually RELEASE, theres nothing else that can happen except a snap hook. I was as well an EPIC slicer, so I shifted my right hand drastically. While this is a quick fix, as you start to get better, that snap hook will rear its ugly head, and you'll be hard pressed to fix that grip at that point. Its best to just nip it in the bud right now, and address the issue in your swing rather than the grip. Im right in the middle of the grip change now. It sucks.
  12. You have a very strong right hand. I naturally do as well. Im actually in the middle of a series of lessons with my pro trying to neutralize my right hand a bit (getting it a little more on top of the club) Its the hardest and weirdest thing in the planet to do; but my suggestion is you should work on getting the "V" formed by your right thumb and forefinger to point a little more closer to your chin (in between your chin and right shoulder) Start now so it isnt harder later on down the road. Strong right hand will lend itself to snap hooking the ball. It would also be better to see a shot of you actually hitting a ball, because little things come out in your swing when theres all of a sudden a ball in the equation. EDIT: Maybe you dont, its hard to tell because the video is so small. It seems like it though. How do I view it bigger? If your right hand "V" is pointing in between your chin and right shoulder, disregard everything above.
  13. I do the split grip. Similar to Natalie Gulbis, just not soooo split. I stand with my feet a little more than shoulder width apart. I actually just switched to this a couple of months ago and I couldnt be happier. I feel way more comfortable over the 4-5 footers.
  14. Dude, thats nothing. I went down to San Francisco with my girlfriend for my birthday and she bought me a round at Harding Park as one of my gifts. Anyways, its supposedly a San Francisco law that they cant "allow" spectators. We had to pay and extra 99$ just so she could ride along with me on my frigging birthday while I enjoyed the round she'd gotten me. The guy gave us an empty bag and told me to "just put one club in it" Pretty ridiculous. What was more ridiculous was that there was seriously a walking path that went around the entire perimeter of the course! So sometimes you would kinda have to wait for like two old ladies to walk on by just in case you hit a bad shot over towards the trail. So no spectators; but feel free to mosey around out there right beside the 10th fairway old ladies!
  15. This reminds me of when I went to buy a car last year and was talking to the salesman about golf. He (claimed) that he played to a 7. This was when I had only been playing seriously for about 2 months. So we're talking and I tell him ive already broken 100 a couple of times and he looks at me and in the straightest face goes.. "I got the best tip for you... If you want to get really really good, and start shooting in the low 80's" (im on the edge of my seat awaiting this golden nugget of advice) "All its gonna take you is thousands and thousands of man hours and about a quarter million dollars." LOL.. I laughed my ass off at that one. I bought the car from him too!
  16. I agree 100% with the OP. Im all for respecting traditions and all, but I did find it (the telecast, not the tournament itself) a bit un-electric. Im with you all the way on this one OP.
  17. Its not even necessarily the size of his shirt so much as the length of the sleeves on them. I mean on Saturday his sleeves were seriously crammed into his armpits! If they were only 3 or 4 inches longer it would look so much better. My girlfriend and I were discussing this topic over the weekend.
  18. x2! Put that ball back in your stance, shorten your backswing, and ACCELERATE through that damn ball! LOL. Control your distance through the length of your backswing. Dont try to take anything off of your downswing. Always accelerate hard down into the back of the ball. Doing this has VASTLY improved my wedge play.
  19. I hate the "get in the hole!" guy. What I did find HILARIOUS though, was a couple of weeks ago, when Watney and Phil were going at it, Phil teed off and some guy yells... "Get in the water!!" HAHA! Now thats funny stuff.
  20. Ahhh, you are correct sir. That is what I was thinking.
  21. I was under the impression that if someone wiffed on a tee shot, it didnt count, because the ball wasnt actually "in play" yet. True or false?
  22. Agreed. Unfortunately, this is the best option I have.
  23. HAHAHAH! Sounds exactly like the course im a member at! Seriously. I live kind of in bumf**k so there arent really any options at all, and the course is seriously a 3 minute car ride from my house. You gotta take what you can get; but if there were any other options id be outta there in a second. I should take some pics of the greens and tee boxes and post em up. You guys would be absolutely appalled! Sometimes there is literally sections of the green where there IS NO GRASS! Seriously, itll just be dirt or mud depending on the weather. On some of the tee boxes it is literally hard to even find a piece of grass to tee off from. The fairways are mud in the winter and super super hard pack in the summer. *sigh*
  24. I too am about 99% self taught. I continuously get contradictory advice. Everything you read says start with your hips. The pro at my local clubs tells me to let my hands and arms move my body and not the other way around. Although, I think he may be telling me this because I sometimes let my body get waaay out in front, which is obviously bad. So I think hes telling me this because in my mind, I think im starting the downswing with my hands and arms, when in actuality im subconsciously still starting with my hips, just not getting them to far out front. Does this make any sense?
  25. The guy I got paired up with at Harding Park last week who claimed to play to a 9 and shot and even 100. I shot 96. . My girlfriend and I got a kick outta that one. (she got me the round for a birthday gift and tagged along) I shoulda put some money on the game.
