  1. I WANT to hole every putt. I TRY to. I think that many of the posters have responded to the OP as if the question was "How long does a putt have to be before you're annoyed at missing it?" or "How long does a missed putt have to be before you can accept not making it?"
  2. Golf magazines are like womens' magazines. Full of ridiculous promises aimed at the gullible. "Bomb it like Tiger' "30 extra yards, guaranteed" "Putt like the pros" "Nail your irons" "Never miss another fairway" etc. etc.
  3. How many threads and posts are required on the topic of the "feel" of forged irons for some people to believe that clubs don't feel better/different because they are forged?
  4. That may well be so, but it is not because they are forged.
  5. Hardly a good point. The WGC events have the "smaller" field of the world's top 64 players. Pretty lame competition, eh?
  6. 3 WGC events 1 US Open Mercedes this year. And your criticism is based on the fact that he was able to finish the job and others couldn't? He didn't gag his way through the 18th in the U.S. Open and his chip in on 17 was under extreme pressure. It was a 72 hole tournament. If anything, he's underhyped. Probably the most underrated player out there. Having the habit of winning big events and remaining cool when others fall apart might be evidence of the opposite of what you are suggesting.
  7. This is great! I have the opportunity to let everyone know how generous I am without ever having to put my money where my mouth is!!!! $5 million to my church $5 million for a trust fund for local underprivileged children $5 million trust to develop worthy young golfers The rest for my old school And spend the rest of my life doing missionary work!
  8. It probably depends on how you strike the ball and how new the SM wedge is, but imagine getting a new ball and putting four little slices at an angle into the ball, each about a centimetre long. In other words, it could be a candidate for the shag bag after one hole. That's my experience. Why do you think some pros go through a dozen or more per round? - it's not just because they get 'em for free.
  9. Might even be the fact that they are very happy with her performance and have never even considered replacing her. Move to Australia if you want to hear some awful golf commentating!!
  10. So if KT called the U.S. Solheim Cup team "choking freaking dogs" that would be OK, then, if telling it like it is is what you like? Seems to me that some would accept that type of talk from Pepper but not KT.
  11. Perhaps you need to spend a little time working on your English. A knowledge of Latin may help. Julius Caesar did not say what your pretentious little quotation with the misplaced quotation marks claims. He did not speak English.
  12. He signs many autographs, but also, if he stops for 1 minute, within 2 minutes there will be 10,000 people swarming around him. Part of it is actually respect for his competitors. He doesn't want it all to be about him. Check out Phil's autograph signing policies on his website. You might get a bit of a surprise.
  13. On what do you base these bizarre opinions? How did Nicklaus have more "class"? What "notoriety" is Tiger after? How do you know that Nicklaus was not motivated by money? How do you now that Tiger is motivated by money? Everything I have seen or read suggests otherwise.
  14. I totally agree. She is an articulate, intelligent and insightful commentator. It seems that a few of the members of this forum have a dislike of her based on her gender, which is a bit of a pity, especially as I am yet to read a seriously reasoned response as to why she is so disliked. And...I was watching a golf telecast the other day (can't remember what it was) and one of the commentators talking about a player whose mother plays and when he is down on confidence he would go to the course with her and "beat her brains out". If she had said that some of you would be baying for her blood. I find McCord's OTT enthusiasm tiring and Feherty tries a bit too hard to be the funny guy, but I do like them both most of the time. KT is fine.
  15. Is Canada not part of North America?
  16. I have read The Iliad but have never heard of The Illiad.
  17. Agreed. Let's see how he goes against a strong field that includes, for example: Anthony Kim, Camilo Villegas, Paul Casey, Lee Westwood, Colin Montgomery, Greg Norman. Until then he's just a boy trying to be a man.
