i collect 'poker' chips from courses i play so i have a titleist valuables bag that is full of a solid 25-30 chips. i always just grab one, however, my TPC jasna polana chip is the most lucky, ie i shoot hte lowest rounds using it...call it mental but the worst one in my bag is my traditions club (myrtle beach) chip. they sit on the green so i'm mindful of others lines when i put it down.

mine is supposed to ship February 28th (bumped up from March 5th) so i'm drooling waiting for it. it's worse than christmas bc you already know what you got! i also wanted to make a note, for those of you who want an R11s with an upgraded shaft, from what i've been told and seen, Taylormade hasnt' been making the upgraded R11s shafts with the actual R11s or R11 graphics on it but rather, you would get an R11s and it would have the upgraded shaft you've selected however, it would include RBZ graphics. i've seen with my own two eyes from two of the guys in my office who ordered theirs early. don't know how this bodes well for TM since it made them both very unhappy...

Devore86, i actually sold these quite a while ago as they weren't for me. i believe they came out in 2005 or so, but i'm not 100% on this. sorry!

Convert my putter into a belly putter?
Gioguy21 replied to gordo865's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
yes, that's the exact putter i'm talking about. however, i don't think the hosel is removable like you suggested...if so i feel like the route of completely redo'ing the entire putter may be in order...alot more work than i had anticipated...do you have links to the replacement hosel and whatnot? -P -
Convert my putter into a belly putter?
Gioguy21 replied to gordo865's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i actually have an experimental idea...wondering if anyone could provide feedback on if it's possible before i invest in the supplies to do it. i'd like to convert a center shafted, Taylormade Ghost Spider putter to a long putter (50"). i don't know if this is possible and need direction from a club-builder to determine of the flange can be bent enough upright to accomodate this modification. any ideas? -PG -
i visited my local golf galaxy to try these out in comparison to my current driver (R11, non-TP and 9* stiff) and fairway wood (callaway diablo edge tour, stiff) with the RBZ line. here are my comparisons I apologize now as i didn't get swing speed nor spin rate (realized this when i got to the counter) i hit 12 balls with each club, drivers first, 3w's after: Drivers: R11 9*, Fujikura Blur 60 stiff avg distance carry: 268.1 avg distance total: 275.8 avg ball speed: 151.2 avg launch angle: 13* (didn't show tenths) Longest Drive - 286 RBZ Tour 9*, Aldila RIP Beta 60 stiff avg distance carry: 274.0 avg distance total: 287.9 avg ball speed: 154.7 avg launch angle: 13* (didn't show tenths) Longest Drive - 294 3W: Callaway Diablo Edge Tour, stock shaft stiff avg distance carry: 261.2 avg distance total: 269.9 RBZ Tour, stock shaft stiff avg distance carry: 266.7 avg distance total: 274.5 I ended up deciding on the RBZ driver since i was really only looking to get one club and i'd much rather take longer off the tee and get the 3W later if I really wanted the extra 4-5 yards. I felt like the RBZ was lighter in the head than the R11 and could've accounted for the extra ball speed but, all things considered it was a solid distance longer than the R11 and the feeling on pured tee shots was awesome. The upgraded shaft in the one i purchased was no charge (HUGE bonus), and i was surprised to hear the other ones they offered at no charge as well. I have to say in regards to the 3W, it was solid, definitely has a hotter face than my cally, but still not enough at this point to jump on it. As for their 17 yards longer claim...guess i'm not the 'better' golfer Hope this helps anyone interested. -Paul

i'd suggest getting on a monitor and hit different types of hybrids. the reason why i say this is bc not only would a recommendation on a particular club be unwise, but different hybrids of even the same loft will yield you different yardages. i have a 3hybrid but i have it adjusted for a higher loft so much that it's by loft numbers, 1 shy of my 4iron, but goes 20-25 yards further than my 4i. hit as many as you can, make an informed decision as there are TONS of different hybrids out there with varying head and shaft options. with any club, buy what fits your game and what you need in the bag. best of luck!

The new grooves and the mp53 versus mp62
Gioguy21 replied to Miniter's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Domenic, You do realize you're in a forum, where there is a sort of, level of maturity. Please take a second and think about what you'd like to post. Then form a way to write it so those reading it, don't feel as though they want to punch you if they ever saw you in real life. this thread has been dead for 2 years and yet the only reason YOU decide to resurrect it is with a completely unnecessary and disrespectful post. Please, don't let your fingers type what you think ALL the time. Thanks. -
I saw one of these done up by the putter lounge...looked AWESOME...it was in their black oxide finish and had white letters/etc...

Hitting 200 balls a day a bad thing?
Gioguy21 replied to Travis Robinson's topic in Fitness and Exercise
i go to the range 4-5x a week. each time it's anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. i hit a jumbo bucket everytime. i spend the first 30 balls or so hitting wedges, 9i to warm up and then i hit each ball as though i were on the course, with intent and focus. that's why it takes so long. 30-40 seconds on a ball, or longer makes you think, calms your heart rate or at least keeps it at a level that i feel is my optimal zone, and allows me to make quality practice. now, have i hit more than 150? yea, i've hit upwards of 300 in a session BUT when i did that, most of them were shots inside of 130, and i was working on a particular thing, ie hitting pitches versus chips, lobs versus bump and runs, etc. nothing beats a QUALITY work out versus just, oh if i hit 400 balls a day i'll be good. -
...know the ball suction cup thing on a putter...why not think of something along those lines for putting in a tee? make a release or something so when you put it in you can release the ball/tee...this way you could essentially lean on the apparatus to drive the tee into the ground on frozen/rock hard/desert tee boxes...perhaps have a little stick or something coming off of it so when you push down, it can hit the ground and limit the tee height to your desired height?

ITH, i know 3 guys personally that i could suggest in the poconos/jersey. shoot me a PM if you're interested. the guy i go to is in Ledgewood, NJ (i work at picatinny and from what i remember you work in parsippany?) let me know.

ok i gotchu now. we're talking about what should come first right now, chicken or the egg. while i agree that clubs can make a difference for you, i believe that establishing a swing that you can replicate and have confidence in (ie coming through taking lessons) is much more important than new equipment right now. if you buy equipment now, sure you're fitted for em, but who's to say when you go through lessons you won't be more upright? more bent over? much more lag in your swing? much steeper/shallower swing plane? all of these things could have an impact on your club specs. just food for thought.

i read in a good book to close your eyes, and imagine your walking down stairs...count them in your head...at the bottom of the stairs is a door...open it...make sure you hear the sounds in your head...and when you open the door you hear the ocean...and you visualize the beach...hearing the waves crashing on the sand...feeling your toes in the sand...the warm sun coming over you...and take 10 deep breaths...counting down as you do it... guaranteed you'll feel much more calm. the whole time you're doing this, think of every single possible detail...the wood grain of the door, the brass handle, the salty breeze on your face, the faint caw'ing of seagulls...etc

you spent over $500 on clubs. you're a 24 handicap. you should've spent $250-$300 and put the rest on lessons. you could get a ferrari but if you can't drive stick you're just wasting your money. (and for those who say you could get it in auto, hold your opinion, it's a disgrace to own a ferrari or any sports car in an auto) i'm just saying, get LESSONS, not CLUBS

clearly they weren't playing in a tournament at that time since, tournaments are regulated and on a clock (otherwise stroke penalties are assessed) did you ever ask to play through? were there ppl infront of them?...jus sayin.

Adidas Tour360 ATV
Gioguy21 replied to AbsoluteZero's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
i have a pair of Tour360 4.0's...unbelievably comfortable. these look like basically the same design with a different type of sole. personally, i think the heel is a bit on the large side but, i've looked into them. If you're liking the whole 'platform' aspect of it, check out some footjoys, they just came out with a stability line of golf shoes that look similar (at least in terms of sole design). -
Why are there so many push cart haters?
Gioguy21 replied to AbsoluteZero's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
an incident happened last year in our flight a (just below championship flight) during our club championship. we had 2 guys playing for a playoff (3 holes, lowest strokes), and club championship rules state you can't ride cart if you are in the top 3 classes (Champ, A, B flights)...one guy was carrying, one was pushing. after the 2nd hole, the guy carrying said he couldn't continue since his back was 'getting to him' for carrying. keep in mind this is a 4 round tournament over a long weekend (1 round friday, 2 saturday and 1 sunday). makes me glad i push lol
