as I've said a couple of times, not gonna change my way of life one way or the other, different strokes for different folks, I simply view this type of situation ever so slightly differently, if the caddie is replacing your divot, to save precious time as you've already pointed out, why wouldn't the player when walking past the bag simply place it in leaving raised instead of just chucking on floor and marching off. I reiterate, in all honesty couldn't give a shiney shite, was more for conversational purposes

Yeah I knew that when typing but the argument about pace of play was weak anyway so figured I'd chuck in some "alternative facts" like El presidente. ? To make the argument that chucking a club on the floor and leaving it for someone to pick up, could be practiced to help aid time efficiencies is weak in my, unwanted, opinion. I acknowledged this years ago chief no biggie though. I sort of thought, maybe in a daft way, that's what a discussion forum was about. That someone would express an opinion or ask a question and out of that discussion would arise? Forgive me if that is misunderstanding the reason for the forum.

I'll carry on griping inside when I witness these beautiful moments of respect for colleagues. Still don't think I'd be comfortable just chucking stuff down for colleague to have to bend down and pick up when I could just hand it to them but...... as I said, perhaps I'm just soft. *edit also, seeing as the looper is trapsing around with 13 other clubs and the rest of the gear, I'm certain carrying one stick until the caddie caught up wouldn't be end of the world, even I can walk with a club in my hand and I'm an out of shape flump in North Manchester, not an athlete in Dubai or Phoenix. This would presumably increase the pace of play as caddie wouldn't have to bend down to retrieve the club for cleaning, could get straight on with that task and pop bag in the bag? 3 seconds X 72 holes, 3 and a half minutes each player. Massive savings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it is just mard arse me then :D Sometimes just smacks of master\servant to my eyes, but as I say, perhaps I'm just a soft old lad, personally, i'd hang on to the stick and hand it to my pal when he catches up after "chasing down divot".... i don't think holding a stick for an extra 15 seconds is that much of a hardship for an athlete.

Agreed 100%, however most employers don't have cameras on them being transmitted to millions of peeps. I would've thought that'd make you act a bit more responsible and respectful.

Am I the only person that gets really effed off when I see tour pros just throw their club on deck for caddies to retrieve, and walk off towards hole after a shot, especially if they've just fluffed one? As I see things, the caddies often provide really valuable input for the pros and I see that type of behaviour as belittling maybe, sort of master/servant role, anyone else feel their nerves got on by this sort of action or am I some sort of Social Justice Warrior? ????

No, not having anyone do that putt down in any fashion, was a great putt, sure there was some luck, there is with every putt unless played in an air pressure/temperature controlled space age room. A young kid mixing it up with the big boys, first go at the event and under pressure, think was joint lead at time of putt? It was a great putt!

On way home from current gig, popped into American golf and bought a chipper practice target net, some 30% balls then a couple of sample patches of imitation grass from B & Q for £2 each and spent 1/2 hour chipping from spare room onto lading, approx 10 feet, I need to learn to chip???
