  1. First swings after not touching a club for 9 weeks. Recovering from a broken tibia. I walked and my stamina is definitely gone as evidenced by my front VS back scores. Everything is way off....... putting (two 3-jacks), driving (3 stroke and distance penalties off the tee), and around the greens (couldn't manage even one par save). I didn't expect much, and am really happy it was south of the century mark actually. Stats: 68.8/122 Shot 94.......43/51 4/14 FW and 3 GIR. 36 putts. 1 birdies, 2 pars, 8 bogies, 6 doubles, and 1 triples. Shot of the day was a screaming sculled wedge from 93 yards that never got off the ground more than a foot that managed to hit the pin squarely and stop 4 feet from the pin. This was my lone birdie. LOL
  2. Maybe this has something to do with it?? http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2011/08/fred-couples-tiger-woods-presidents-cup/1
  3. Congrats and GO COUGS!!!
  4. Shawn Clement has a video on putting I really like and that I have saved in my favorites.
  5. 1:29............"Block release" delofting club = hard to hit a high shot?? Slap release.....I almost choked on the shredded wheat I'm eating for breakfast!! This thread is why I don't subscribe to ANY golf magazine, and why I've pretty much quit watching You Tube videos with the exception of a few.
  6. On tiger woods--"He has the touch of a gay florist"
  7. Been popping "Aleve" and icing my knee on my days off of work (I'm an RN) for the past two weeks thinking I had sprained it on one of my 5am runs. My better half finally talked me into going to doc who referred me to ortho doc. Long story short is MRI showed fracture of tibia (didn't show up on previous x-rays, so it can't be too bad right?), strained MCL and torn meniscus. I get a more definitive treatment plan from doc in am, but it looks like I won't be swinging a club again until mid to late sept. and may be done for the season. Reason I'm posting this is just to tell everyone to listen to their body and not try to be a tough guy. I walked 18 the other day despite pain that was pretty bad. In fact that's what I'm blaming my score (87) on. In retrospect that was just plain old stupidity!! I could've easily caused the injury to worsen and increased time of recovery.
  8. I'd tell them to get a life too. I expect men care about fashion and what they themselves wear , but I personally couldn't care what or how another man dresses.
  9. Didn't read the whole thread, but if you are a man, why in the hell would you care what another man wears to a dinner or event you aren't attending? Even if you were attending, why would what JD wears reflect on you or concern you at all? I could see if you were married to the dude, but c'mon???
  10. Already being discussed...... here http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/50185/tiger-and-williams-to-part-ways here http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/52063/2011-wgc-bridgestone-invitational and here http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/52301/will-the-recent-stevie-smack-talk-motivate-tiger-differently-this-week-at-the-pga Just sayin'
  11. That's golf! Seriously though, if professional golfers have up and down days , why would you expect to be any better. Just as an example Poulter shot 69 his second round @ the Bridgestone and 80 his third round. Stewart Cink shot 66 (1st round) and 75 (4th round). It happens, so don't get to down about a few higher than normal scores.
  12. Ya think?? Wondering if that is one of the very few times a caddy has been interviewed following a win? Sorta made Steve look like an arsehole, but makes for good TV I guess.
  13. Thanks. I'm getting tired of playing the same 3-4 courses.
  14. Probably in the minority here, but I despise the range. I hit a few buckets in the early spring with a few small buckets here and there if I didn't have time or $$ for a full round. I consistently hit it worse on the range than on the course. I don't know why for certain, but I believe it's because I get bored on the range and my ADD brain wanders. I have tried playing the course on the range, hitting driver then 8i or wedge to simulate a round, but nothing works. I do spend a ton of time on the putting and chipping greens though. Hitting from a flat perfect lie on the range doesn't prepare you for the real thing IMHO. I would try the nine hole per week thing with a one time per week range session and see how that goes rather than not playing at all with 3 range sessions. There you go......2 cents from a hacker.

    Location?

Becoming thin skinned in your old age Miller? I do know what you mean though. As a native of northern Washington state it is tough living in the midwest with what my wife calls a "Fargoesque" accent. "You aint from around here are ya son!"
  16. 3rd round Par 5 16th 667 yards. Shot tracker has Bubba Watson shot 1 = 415 to left fairway 243 from hole. second shot 243 yards over water to 13 feet 6 inches. These guys are good!!

    Location?

Thank you sir. Not sure why I left that part of the profile blank, but I did. When I went to edit my location I learned I needed to update the rest of the profile as well.
  18. Welcome to TST. Dillsboro is mighty close to me. I'm in Milan. Where do you play?
  19. Seriously??? You haven't seen a divot until you've seen me hit big D about 6 inches fat. Usually happens once every 3rd or 4th round toward the end of a round I get tired and lazy. :)
  20. Stats: 6835 yards 71.9/127 Shot 87.......45/42 4/14 FW and 3 GIR. 30 putts. 2 birdies, 4 pars, 9 bogies, 1 doubles, and 2 triples. I've been working only on my wedge game and putting for the last two weeks and it is paying off. No 3 putts and I chipped in one birdie with a bump and run 8i and made a long range birdie putt. All the practice around the green is taking a toll on my iron play though. I'm staying the course though. I think once I have a handle on the short game hopefully I can keep a handle on it and then go back and work on the full swing again in mid-august or so.
  21. Looks like a Callaway advert disguised as a crappy movie.

  23. Stats: 6835 yards 71.9/127 Shot 85.......45/40 8/14 FW and 6 GIR. 29 putts. 11 pars, 3 bogies, 2 doubles, and 2 triples. My blow up holes involved 4 stroke and distance penalties such as lost ball or OB/water off the tee. I've been working only on my wedge game and putting for the last two weeks and it is paying off. No 3 putts and I one putted 7 greens. Lipped out 2 birdies putts and got up and down for par 5 times. MUCH more work to be done though obviously!!
  24. I have a friend in Texas that would gladly take the rain!!
  25. I've played when it was 36 to 106. Neither bother me to much, you just have to prepare for the conditons. The starter and cart girl called me crazy for walking 18 when it was 96 (heat index 105). I walk every round I play so that is no big deal, but having a 1.5 liter of ice water in the "cooler" pocket of my bag is a must!
