Week 3 Day 4 - the offseason journey continues S&C morning, 48 minutes. Utilized SKLZ Tempo Grip Trainer, SKLZ Gold Flex, Izzo arm band, alignment stick. Kept left handed swinging in as well and plan on building on that. Did lateral lunges and forward lunges, getting better at these as well core work. Lot's of stretching and my usual neck PT work. Plan on adding a session after work hitting off of the my wife's new golf matt. If I get that done I will add it in

FYI @boogielicious titanium dioxide is not metallic. Also green pigment sucks because it does not have any hide power so it takes a lot of it to get hide, just opposite of what you might think. Paint gets it's ability to hide from white and black pigments, those greens and blues just suck in hide.

Week 3 Day 3 Spent 45 minutes working on chipping from 10' to 20'. Wow do I suck but started showing improvement as the session went on. Finished up the session hitting my Driver, 5W, 2 Utility Iron and 3 Utility Iron.

Oh my gosh 🙂 thanks for pointing that out, it got me laughing pretty good. And yes it would not surprise me one bit if she stated that about our golf mat.

Bosch hands down is my favorite show. Looking forward to Season 7 and sadly the final season. The Umbrella Academy is just a fun show that I really enjoy and can escape into Mandalorian is another show I just enjoy escaping into. I really like how Season 2 is progressing. --------- A couple others I have enjoyed but either are limited series or may not get another season Bodyguard was very intriguing and enjoyed it, kept sub captions on. Their English accent was tough at times to follow 🙂 Mind Hunter Season 1 is up there but Season 2 fell short for me, the wife liked it. Will watch Season 3 if it comes out. Just finished Queens Gambit and really enjoyed it. Unorthodox has been a lot better then expected, it is worth checking out.

Thought I would add a quick update. Hit about 45ish shots on Friday and felt no pain or issues. Hit about 45ish shots yesterday and no pain or issues. So today is my 2nd day in a row off of the mat and so far no pain or issues. I am sore from my overall work but that is to be expected. Not sore from using this mat but will see how I fell tomorrow and Thursday. This golf mat is now considered my wife and my golf mat! I am happy about that. She has really enjoyed hitting golf balls off of it. She is thinking WE should get a launch monitor as that would add to the fun. Oh how I love my wife 🙂 adding a launch monitor.

Oh Yah!!!! That is some of the best golf advice ever. No sarcasm! Moved the net over by our loading dock, thought about off centering the mat but didn't. Hit some metal pallet racking and WOW did it get exciting for a moment. All said and done, the ball missed me but I have no idea where it is in our warehouse. Staff will find it someday. And that mat is now off center.

Day 8 - missed yesterday as I went home sick, thankfully it was allergies. 1 hour work out, it was great. Rotated between using my SKLZ clubs and hitting golf balls. Finally I have an indoor hitting area. 20 swings with SKLZ Grip Trainer - 5 per set then In would 5 iron shots 20 swings with SKLZ Gold Flex - 5 per set and then I would hit 5 shot with Driver or 5 shots with my 5 wood. All total I hit my Driver, 5 Wood, 2 Utility Iron, 5 Iron, 6 Iron and 7 Iron 30 minutes of putting is on the outside edge for me. At about 20 minutes of putting my back is really letting me know it has had enough. Thanks for you update, I got a nice chuckle

Well my first day indoors hitting golf balls. I ended up putting card board down completely in front of the mat and before my net. I also moved my mat back to about 10' 6" from the net. This was done out of self preservation. I also started using just yellow shag balls so I would have a better chance at ducking them. The mat is great. No issues hitting a 7 iron off of it, no shock at all. Well one golf ball with the 7 iron came back so fast I did contemplate putting on hockey goalie gear. As I use this from time to time I will post updates in case anyone wants to know about how the mat is working.

I ordered a SwingTurf Golf Mat from Rain or Shine Golf and it just arrived. It is 4' x 5'. Looks like inwill have to get shorter tees but it holds a tee really nice. I plan on using it after work and will report back how it is. Finally starting to get an indoor set up started. Next up will be a launch monitor

I finally got a chance to look at your thread. Visuals tell the entire story. I see how your set up would not slide all over and stay in place. @boogielicious have you ever tried a platform under your feet that raise your feet above the ball or tilt them back/forward and such? Looks like it wouldn't be that hard to do and allow for some practice with uneven lies. Whatt do you think? Bad idea or not? I may try it as soon as get my set up done

I agree with you @mcanadiens the fact that we are on golf forum speaks volumes about how we care about the game. It isn't about the desire to play more, it's more about the time we have to play more. Taking a lesson is great, I am all for it. Posting your swing in your swing thread here is great. But finding the time to work on the lesson so it sticks is challenging. Work, family and work and then kids. So for someone to say us weekend duffers don't care for the rules or even follow the rules is absurd. Yes I have the friend that just wants to golf and not worry about a score card but I have a lot more friends that do care. Weekend duffer average I would say is 95 and that is playing by the rules. What most of us weekend golfers suffer from are the blow up holes and limiting the damage. Those come from not getting enough consistent time hitting the ball. I will say focusing on the 5 Minute Daily challenge this summer really helped in knocking a couple strokes off of my score card as well as keeping that average score lower. Also I would say us weekend duffers support the golf industry more then dire hard daily players. Why? Because we lose a lot more golf balls and we probably are more willing to buy a new golf club to fix a problem. I am basing this on my own personal observations of me. When I was able to play a lot of golf and practice a lot my golf balls got beat up and thus cycled out of the bag. Now I personally account for the massive growth in Snell Golf Balls. Plus when I am playing a lot I hated switching clubs as it disrupted my game to much in trying to get used to them. Sorry for rambling

Thanks for the information. Did you put anything under the plywood to help keep it from sliding around during swinging? Or is the the weight of it and standing on it keep it in place?

Hello Everyone Looking for advice regarding a golf mat for use indoors, with all clubs. I have a surgically repaired neck so I need something that will not be hard on joints. TrueStike is outside of my price range. I am looking at SwingTurf from Rain or Shine Golf or Fiberbuilt but am open to ideas. I advance - thank you

Week 2 - off season work out Day 5 OK!! I can touch the floor when stretching again without having stomach muscle seize up or massive Charlie horses. It has taken years to get this far after colon surgery. I am really happy. Started out with stretching hamstrings and neck physical therapy. Also making dramatic improvements with my neck. The pain level is to the point that I do not have to take any type of pain killers! Another wonderful milestone. Then I went into Lateral lunges and forward lunges. Next core work Stretching set 15 swings with SKLZ Swing Tempo Trainer stretching set 15 swings with SKLZ Gold Flex Core set 15 swings with SKLZ Swing Tempo Trainer 15 Swings with SKLZ Gold Flex Core Set Lateral and forward lunge set Final stretching 36 minute work out and built up a nice sweat
