Couldn't you just have someone record you while you swing?

I run a PGA Majors pool each year and it's always a crapshoot who wins these majors. If you guys want to join, it's pretty fun. You pick four golfers prior to each major and the Players. You try to accumulate as much in earnings over the entire season to cash. The caveat is that you can only use a player once. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I can add you to the distribution.

4-5 figures is way more than I would want to fork over. If I just kept taking payments by check and PayPal, that would cut down the complexity of the design quite a bit? Please keep in mind that I'm a finance guy and a complete web design moron. Thanks for the input so far. Keep em comin'.

So howmuch would we be talking to pay someone to do what I want?

So I've been running this annual Majors pool where each participant picks four golfers per major and total earnings at the end of the year win cash. I anticipate that it will be quite large next year so I want to check into the possibilities of setting up a website to run it. Right now, I just track everything manually through Microsoft Excel. People will email their picks to me and I manually have to enter them into the spreadsheet and email the spreadsheet to everyone once all picks are in. Do any of you web designers have ideas how I could just run this by a website? I'm expecting my first child this fall and want this to be as hands off as possible. Basic functionalities desired: 1. Participants can submit their golfers through the site (pick from drop downs) 2. Site can have an Excel spreadsheet linked to track earnings and rankings 3. Participants can register and pay through website Any ideas how much this would cost to set up? I'm not looking for anything fancy. PM or post if you have any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Someone on the crackberry the whole round.

Anyone else think Notah Begay brings a big bag of nothing to the commentary table on the golf Channel? I remember he came on the scene when all of Tiger's issues were breaking. Did they purposely bring him in for Tiger insider info and now they're just stuck with him? Am I the only one?

I keep all my cards on an excel spreadsheet. For each round, for each hole, I break down my score by the clubs I used for that particular hole. I can then see how many times I hit my driver (or any other club) in a round or how many putts I had. In addition, I also mark if I hit a farway or had a GIR. I have a summary tab that summarizes my average score, driving accuracy %, GIR %, average putts per round, average three puts per round, etc. This has given me great perspective about where my work needs to be done. My average score right now is around 80 and about 47 of those shots come from my two wedges and my putter. I 'm going to put more emphasis on my short game practice. Maybe you can set up something similar.

Umm, there's other golfers you could watch that aren't that bad...... You can only use that ticket for one of the four days. Doesn't matter which day.

I'll be there Friday through Sunday. If this is your first time at Colonial, make sure you hang out at 13. Oh yeah, try to wear dark tinted shades to take in the scenery without getting caught. :)

My practice facility is top notch. Lush grass to hit from, Nike balls that look brand new, a huge bent grass green with undulation, lit up for night practive, and two chipping greens. Oh yeah, it's right next door to the Nike Oven. I need to take some pics and post for you guys.

Does anyone know where I can find the final earnings for the tournament?

What time do pairings/tee times get released?

Played in a shamble tournament on Friday and I'm stil confused how the winning team shot 42 on a par 71 courrse. Yes, 42. How is this possible? I thought shambles were more difficult to score than a regular scramble. For those not familiar with the format, a shamble starts by the team pickig the best drive but from there, each team member plays out their own ball. Can one get more than one stroke per hole if their handicap is high enough?

Mine were too upright when I got them so I had each iron bent 1-2 degrees flatter. Hitting them much more solidly now.
-
Agreed. I'm not into Loudmouth pants. I'm looking for solid colors.
-
Where do you get colored golf pants like most tour players are wearing nowadays? They kind of have a slit at the bottom of the cuff. A few names come to mind when I think about this type of pant are Brian Gay, Camilo Villegas, etc. Any ideas?
-
I've hit both and the G15 is my preference. Very forgiving when you mishit it and rewarding when you catch it solid. I love the look of it. I don't see why some would have issues with the look.

I've been putting cross-handed for 16 years. It works for me and conventional just feels weird to me after all these years.

This is a bizarre topic but I wanted to see if any other addicts have had actual nightmares about a golf scenario. Mine have a common theme of me needing to hit an impossible golf shot indoors. Example: My most recent one involved me trying to hit a drive on a par 5 from a loveseat infront of Ben Crenshaw. It took me forever to tee up the ball in the cushion of the chair and when I did, I couldn't even take a stance because of the awkard "lie". Am I the only one this occurs to?
-
My bad. I meant flatten instead of bent upright. Thanks.
-
It's funny that you posted this because I was going to post something similar. I bought a new set of MP-57's in the fall that were also +.25" longer and standard lie/loft. Most of my hits are also on the toe. This didn't happen with my old Titleist irons. When I setup in a full length mirror, I notice that the toe is off the floor and the face is not sitting flat to the ground. Do I need to have these bent more upright? I'm standard heighth (5'8"). I thougt I read somewhere that Mizuno irons are built for Japanese golfers and may not be standard for most American golfers. Any truth to this and should I go get these irons looked at? Sorry to hijack but I'm curious about this subject also.

Guess I won't make it out to the course and break the tradition since there is snow here in Texas! I think this is the first white Christmas since 1926.

Does anyone else walk on to your local course to play a few holes on Christmas Day? I've been doing it for a few year now. The wife and the dogs come out and we walk and I play a few holes. Kind of a tradition now before we go do family stuff.
