  1. It's not a stupid question, but anyway, lofts vary from manufacturer to manufacturer so it easier to signify a club for it's loft. For instance I think the g10 3 wood is 16 degrees while most are 15 or 15.5, so to clear up confusion it may just be easier to ask for the degree.
  2. I didn't mean to say that at all, I hope you didnt take my post as meaning such. When I started playing I was much worse than a 26. If I offended, sorry.
  3. Maybe if were talking about out of the rough, but grooves do pretty much nothing from the fairway. Don't have the source, maybe Iacas or someone else does, but golf digest did the wedge vs grooveless wedge and I'm pretty sure the results were pretty similar from the fairway.
  4. umm...what? That's like saying anyone can buy a house, just get a huge mortgage and live for the moment. How about being able to afford the round. Anyway. To the OP, if you can afford it, you gotta do it. It's on my list of courses to play.
  5. Offset has nothing to do with any kind of horizontal flight bias. The only thing it affects is flight height. If you hit a 3-4 degree closed face straight then you obviously need 3-4 degrees closed, as your club is quite a bit open at impact.
  6. For me, the zero friction tees hook. I don't know what it is, so I use wooden, might have to retry, I saw a zero friction but it had 6 pegs instead of 3, might try that
  7. Yes but still the ap2 and ap1 just refreshed along with 710 CB and MB.
  8. Yeah pretty much the same for me, but I took "spinning it back" to mean more than a foot.
  9. The roughness of the face though does increase spin.
  10. And in what way was that comment one of a gentlemans?
  11. I also think that if Stina is so sure of herself, she should have the ladies play the tips with the guys. It would be interesting to have them play the ladies tees one day and then the tips. I would like to see how the ladies are especially when they have to hit out of the rough because they can't reach the fairway.
  12. Your a 26, and you want to be backing up 7 irons? I'm afraid I don't know a single player that consistently backs up anything past Wedge, most of mine and check and stop or maybe a little back or front kick, nothing like "spinning it back" Also what do the clubs have to do with spinning it? Maybe its your swing..
  13. Don't feel bad at that, I guarantee if you asked Kenny Perry to do the same he would fail even more, try telling your coach that. Kennys been pretty successful eh?
  14. I think from my experience that it is easier to control shot height with blades, a least a lot easier than with a CB than it is to shape shots, I find I can hook a blade as much as a CB and I can also hit a 5 yard cut just as easy with both. Try hitting a low spinner with a SGI club though, can be tricky.
  15. Sounds like a snoozefest to me. Did you manage to stay awake?
  16. Pretty much exactly same, the only thing I ever look at is my left wrist. I make a practice swing from ankle height to back through just to simulate the club going through impact and to make sure I come back inside with the club through the ball.
  17. It might just be me, I regard him as a bomb and gouger, he hits driver a lot of times when he doesnt have to, and he really doesn't care if its in the rough or not. He plays great out of the rough.
  18. Offest has nothing to do with hitting a straight shot. It does however with hitting a high shot, so if you hit a low ball offset is good.
  19. I agree, even at 20, unless the person was the best 20 I've ever seen, I wouldn't even think of recommending blades, maybe like low teens 13,14,15 from above, your probably doing more harm then help.
  20. First off, I have never done club work so please don't take my word as set in stone, I'm just learning and starting also. To pull the shafts you'll need a shaft puller. You possibly will need new grips because you might have to cut your old ones off to get any epoxy rattling around in the shaft. Of course you will need the shafts, and an epoxy kit. I think that is pretty much all you need, but please don't buy anything till someone who has done this before chimes in.
  21. I think more Guis are being incorporated because it possibly could save people time learning the new stuff. It took me a while to learn how to set up a SAMBA server, all the commands, and then make it work.
  22. I fail to see how it would help Tiger, as he is a bomb and gouger himself.
  23. What were your doubles and higher on? Missed Greens? 4 putts? I would say short game is the easiest thing to improve of course as everyone has said, but it also helps when your sticking your wedges and irons closer to the pins. How do you do when you miss the fairway? Maybe a break down of par 3 par 4 par 5 performance.
  24. Nice what's the name of your tour? I play in the Northern Ohio junior pga events and the kenny novak tours.
  25. I like windows just fine thank you. Sure Macs might be easier for less knowledgeable people, but my co-workers(IT) and I agree that at our level of computer knowledge that the advantages are pretty even for both sides. I would support apple more if they didn't rely on the "hip factor" and charged so darn much. Their OS is based on a free one, so why do I have to pay a grand more just for the OS and a shiny white case?!
