  1. To start a whole new arguement, slow play doesn't mean bad scores. I am a horrible golfer, shooting low 100's and I can play my round much faster than some people that are single digit. It isn't how many strokes you take, it is how much time you take between strokes.
  2. Doh! That was even easier than I expected.
  3. Actually based on a standard club lenth of 44" for driver and 35.5" for a 9I, you will have a ~ 20% reduction in club head speed. ( I am also negating shaft flex, as the rate at which the club will be flexing or rebounding will have a great impact on the velocity of the club head.) That would mean that with a 104mph club head speed on a 6I, your Driver CHS would be 130mph. Of course I am sure that some of the more technical savvy folks on here will destroy my crude analysis.
  4. Make sure to replae your divot in the apartment.
  5. www.diamondtour.com
  6. My mother always uses her "Water Ball" on holes with carry over water. It isn't because she lacks the confidence, it is because she has used that ball for about 4 years and says that it is a lucky ball. So it boosts her confidence, which is probably why she makes it over.
  7. I use Nitro Blasters. $5/dz at Walmart. Of course, I am horrible. I once asked the pro at the golf course if the ball really mattered. He asked me what my average score was. I told him 105 or 110. He said, "The ball doesn't matter one bit." :)
  8. Just an open clubface caused by multiple variables in the swing, some of which take considerable effort to correct.
  9. I practice often, I play often, I have had multiple lessons. I cannot stop slicing. It is mostly mental, and yes it is a habit. I have lost weight, I have quit smoking. Both have been easier for me than losing the slice. the sad thing is that if I could cure the slice by gaining 30 pounds and smoking pack a day, I would be hitting a ton of fairways.
  10. I just want to point out that I never said "go ahead and buy them!! it is perfectly legal and moral to do so!" I said that they may not be fake. As for my business mind... Thank you so much for insulting me without being provoked. You are probably the same person that yells at your kid when he spills some milk. Lengthen that fuse a little bit man.
  11. We aren't influenced by marketing are we?
  12. So you have purchase a set from this store, done a complete dimensional and metalurgical (sp?) analysis to determine that they are in fact fake? couldn't be that someone stole them and is now using this website as a fence?
  13. Any chance that they aren't actually fake? I mean, things are just cheaper in China. Most clubs are made in china already so these could be straight from the factory and just exported illegally from this company. Just because it is cheaper doesn't mena it is fake, just means that it is black market.
  14. You can play golf without drinking? Wierd.
  15. I am tired of slicing all the time. I do practice. Normally 2 or 3 trips to the range a week. I have had lessons. 3 on just the slice. Sometimes, people just suck. The good news is that I am finally getting a 3 wood, so maybe i can keep that straighter and use it off the tee to stop the bleeding.
  16. i usually hit the driving range before the round. hit a bunch of perfect drives and get my confidence up. then i get on the first tee and slice one OB. Hit my driver again into the right rough. I will usually stick with the driver like a moron for the next 5 or 6 holes, until i have absolutely no chance of turning in a low score. Then I will get mad enough to say screw the driver and will hit 3iron off of the tee. usually i will play three holes like that, and score a par or two. Then i will get confident again and pull the driver back out of the pond, proceding to blow the other 9 holes while drinking large amounts of beer to stop the pain.
  17. I have had multiple lessons. Still slice. But I sure can hit it straight at the driving range. Some of us just aren't very good at this game. Your real complaint should be: "Why don't slow players let me play through?!?"
  18. 3 years ago, my first summer getting back into golf. I had just started working at a new company, gotten a promotion and thought I was going places. I was one of 5 non-sales guys asked to play in a company golf outing, (myself, another engineer, and 3 executives.) I was pretty nervous about it, so i went to the driving range the night before and hit probably 100 balls. i was hitting every club pure and felt great. The next morning my back was so stiff i could barely swing a club. i topped every ball off of the tee and I don't think my group (4 man scramble) used a single shot of mine expect for a putt. Horrible day. Never invited to play again with anyone from that event. :(.
  19. Tadd is averaging 286.5 in PGA events and 317 in Nationwide events. I think that 314 sounds resonable.
  20. I hope he continues his comeback. I want to be a fan. I really really want to.
  21. USGA Rule Book: Decision 31-7a/1 http://www.usga.org/bookdecision.aspx?id=14315#31-7a/1
  22. The rule book and the handicap manual give an expample of conceding in stroke play. You are correct that the score is not the one used for the teams score, however, it can be used for the players handicap, so a score has to be recorded.
  23. My grandfather passed away at 82 yrs old. Played golf for probably 60+ years. Never had a hole in one.
  24. Amen. I need to move my wife to the men's tees. She gts excited when her drive is further than mine, but then again she is getting the extra yargade form the Womens tees. I should make her play a round from the whites just to stop hearing about it.
