  1. I've had them just over two weeks. I've been to the range twice and the course once. I do like them, but I'm still working out the gapping. I'd like some warmer weather for a true test. We haven't had much nice weather here in Michigan. Looking forward to this weekend.

  3. Cobra One Length Irons Cleveland Wedges TaylorMade Spider Mini Putter
  4. What shaft flex are your irons?
  5. I transitioned to one length irons recently. The longer wedges and shorter long irons don't bother me much. I mean, it's really not that much of a difference anyway. As far as whether or not they will help my game.... the jury is still out.
  6. But... But.... He didn't concede the putt. So why should he lie? Anyway, this debate should probably be had in the tournament's forum. So I'll let it go. I'm starting to see a lot of "ill-will" directed at Kuchar. Makes me want to support him. Alas, I am a Koooooch fan now!
  7. I agree that Phil seems odd on camera. I don't know if I would say "disingenuous", but maybe that's it. I can't really figure him out. I don't really mind him, however.
  8. Sergio did another "Sergio" this weekend. I'm sure he's a good guy overall. But man, can he be a jerk! I see a lot of people are put off by Bryson. I don't mind him at all.
  9. So cool! Excellent job.
  10. Right.
  11. You make your own course maps? How big of an investment of time is that? How much detail do you go into?
  12. He's going to have to step out of his comfort zone. Unfortunately, there is really no way to avoid that. Best bet is to find a way to ease into it. If there aren't group classes, find an instructor for one-on-one training. These guys have seen it all and are going to have the best success in helping both your husband and yourself gain some confidence and a comfort level. I know all too well the anxiety of a 'beginner'. You're worried about looking stupid, being made fun of, not having the right (fanciest) equipment, etc. I can still remember the anxiety I had to deal with the first time I golfed with a foursome, three of which were (what I would consider) excellent and experienced golfers. Then there was me hacking up the place, chunking or topping everything, and slicing my drives two fairways over. It was overwhelming and I played very poorly because (1) I stunk and (2) I was in my own head. It definitely helps if you have a 'beginner' to work out some of the kinks with. Sounds to me like he has one. YOU.
  13. So, what's your plan of attack? I'm a little undecided. I have the magnets on order but haven't started carving into anything yet.
  14. Take it from somebody who is entering his third year as a golfer: A boxed set is, in my opinion, the best option for a beginner. I have many reasons that I feel this way. Most of it was covered in the thread linked below just a couple of weeks ago. Whatever you decide, best of luck!
  15. Yes, I had a "Big Teeth" cover for my last putter and I liked it a lot. Problem is that the Spider Mini is smaller than the traditional putter. I'm sure this will cover it -BUT- it won't be snug and will move around. It might not really be an issue that the cover is larger. Just something that I am considering.
  16. Gotcha. I'm looking forward to the photos.
  17. What's the significance of the round grip?
  18. I would definitely appreciate some photos. Thanks in advance. When you say "STRONG" magnets, are you talking about the earth magnets?
  19. Don't worry, you won't see me using any iron covers. No matter how much I want to. 😎
  20. Beautiful putter. Best of luck.
  21. Yes, of course that is an option. The problem I've found is that the Taylormade Spider Mini is just large enough to be too large for regular mallet covers and just small enough to be too small for covers designed for the traditional spider shape. I have not found any after-market covers made for the Spider Mini. If I can make the manufacturer's cover, which fits perfect, to work for $10-$15 ---- well, that would be ideal. Not an option for me. I spent $300 on this putter and I plan to keep it looking as pristine as possible. I would probably use iron covers too, if I wasn't well aware that I would catch too much crap for it.
  22. Has anyone ever converted their velcro putter cover into a magnetic one? I found this old "how-to" article and am considering doing this to my own putter headcover. Converting a Putter Cover from Velcro to Magnetic Closure - The Hackers Paradise An Experiment Velcro (generically known as a “hook and loopâ€ closure) is a strong, lightweight,…
