  1. I'm always up for the blind squirrel thing...
  2. Last year my golf buddy and I decided it would be fun to play a top ten public course in PA. So we looked around and found the closest one to us. Inniscrone in Avondale, PA. Understand, we're just a couple of weekend hacks. Brother. Blind shots, forced carries, fast greens, etc. Most of you guys would be ok with it, but we played from the whites and got murdered. Relentless beat down, and not fun at all. I'd need some face time with Eric before I tried that again! And of course, Lancaster CC. Good enough for a recent LPGA event, and another on the horizon. Grew up there. I love that course.
  3. Former US Marine, retired police officer, now I work customer service for Rolex USA. Still waiting for my watch...
  4. Back in the 90's, when I was still a police officer, I wrestled SAMBO with a club from Millersville University. I had the opportunity to compete in the 1999 World Police & Fire Games, the SAMBO comp was held in Kaunus, Lithuania. I was the lone American. Boy, what an experience! The fellow competitors were virtually all central and eastern europeans, and couldn't have been more welcoming. I wrestled guys from Lithuania, Russia, and Tajikistan, and came in 4th in my weight class, at 193lbs! My first and only international competition.
  5. I broke 100 😎 I broke 90 on a sub 5000 yard par 65 executive course, once. I can't imagine that counts.
  6. "Hey Ed, when ya gettin new clubs?" Ed- "When I learn to play the ones I got!"
  7. My main goal is to condition myself back to being able to walk 18 holes. I intend to do this by walking 9 holes at least once a week, in addition to any weekend riding rounds, on weekday afternoons when the local courses have reduced walking rates. This leads me to my second goal. Last year I played about 20 rounds. This year I'd like to at least double that. My last goal is to finally settle on a putting technique! 🙄
  8. Hello all. I found myself returning to this site time and again, either just to enjoy golf related content or searching for a specific tip. I felt it would be impolite to just lurk, so I signed up. My first sign-up for any forum, ever. I'm not the most tech-savvy guy in the room, so you'll have to bear with me. I'll sort it out. I'm 57, started caddying at Lancaster Country Club at 13, and had club caddied off and on for much of my adult life, until medical issues forced me out from under the bag about 8 yrs ago. I actually took up golf to become a better caddy. To this day, I'd rather caddy in a tournament than play in one. Not to say I don't enjoy playing, I do tremendously, but I guess looping's in my blood! Anyways, I was impressed by the depth of knowledge displayed by the mods and some of the senior members. I'm coming back after a long layoff, and looking to get things back in order. Look forward to some conversation.! Best Regards, Carl Smith
