When Steve started talking after the win from Adam, I stood there with my mouth open like "Did you really just say this was the greatest week of your caddying career"? All the majors, Ryder Cups, etc.. with Tiger didn't trump a Bridgestone Win? I agree with the above posters, Adam needs to have a talk saying something along the lines of "Ok, we all get your still sour over the split, but your with me now so do me a favor and keep your public behavior with the media in check on this topic". My personal opinion is I think his comment makes Adam look bad even if that wasn't his intent. NOBODY in their right mind, including Adam Scott, can listen to that comment from Stevie and sincerely believe what he said is true. The only way I can imagine he really thinks this is the greatest week of his career is because he is in the limelight more then Tiger and more then Adam. Also, I know Tiger gets a bad rap in the media, across golf blogs, etc...because people don't like him personally, think he is cheap, bad tipper, etc.. insert whatever you want to say, but remove the fact he spits on a golf course (I don't care about that) or vents his anger more often then he should, I don't think in all his years on the tour he has ever really disrespected another player or caddie, at least publicly or in the media. Can anyone clarify that for me? He certainly has not said a single bad thing about Steve that I know of. My father got to go to the Bridgestone for Saturday and Sunday and said the roars for Tiger were huge, regardless of whether he was in the trees and 10 shots back. He made an interesting point to. Nobody came to the Bridgestone to see Stevie.

howdy folks. long time since I've been back here haha just figured I would chime in with my 2 cents. I was honestly shocked at this, more-so over the loyal behavior Steve has exhibited toward Tiger over all these years and through all the drama. He could have bailed when Tiger needed him the most, but as a friend and business acquittance he stayed. Though from Tiger's POV, this was probably more of a business decision and not much personal...though as Steve said recently, he had a gut feeling something was wrong. I've heard rumors about money possibly being an issue for Tiger right now and what he was paying out to Steve given he wasn't playing. I guess Steve was on a flat fee, not % like many caddies are. I think with the lack of endorsements, injuries, no wins, etc... Tiger might be hurting for money more then what some of us realize. I don't quite understand how the rich run into money problems...but then again I'm not rich so I can't relate lol. I think Tiger is probably done for the year but I do agree trying to start fresh might be a good thing for him. Only problem is whether the new people moving into his camp/world will be loyal to him.

I can vouch for P90x. I only got through 42 days of it last time, because life got in the way, but its a great overall program. I actually started the process of working out again last night. My short term goal leaves me 5 months till a florida vacation, but since its winter my goal is to get bigger and build some mass. I never want to be "big" big, but damn bigger then I am now LOL.. I am 5ft 11 and 170, probably 15% bf give or take. Ideally, would like to be 170-175, but closer to 10% bf.

He looks a bit in pain

Back in College I heard Phil Mickelson had a tour nickname: LOL Also. My dad uses this one often regarding a popup drive

agreed. Also look at Kobe..his choices were far more dire compared to Woods, and Kobe is back to being on top of the world, still married (not sure how good that marriage is though), and he has NEVER publically spoken about his rape accusation other then his initial public interview where his wife was at his side. If anything, Tiger has gone far above the "norm" when compared to Kobe (in regards to confessing anything to the public)...though Tiger's fall from grace was a much harder fall then Kobe's, IMO. Assuming Tiger starts winning (which he will), these details might contain an asterisk in sports columns in years ahead, but sports fanatics will only compare about his winning %, majors, etc... and not what TMZ is able to drudge up about him. Eh.....well the only people in Tiger's life that I have ever seen pushed into the public, moreso they wanted to be a part of it, were his mom and dad from the get-go. His father would actively pursue interviews and his mom was always by his side. Elin was never much for the publicity and was only around when they attended public events together, but she wasn't putting herself out there, and the only times their kids were in the public eye were for a few publicity pictures after their births, or running on the green to hug Tiger. I think there is a difference pre scandal and post. During the Post scandal, certain people chose to come forward such as ex-girlfriends, I think his brother from his dad's first marriage came forward, the neighbor who apparently had footage of the night of the fight, etc... but it wasn't Nike throwing them out there, since if anything those were negative images of Tiger. Earl and that particular Nike ad you speak of was the only time I saw someone in Tiger's "camp" get used as a part of his image process, and that was from an interview Earl gave back in 2005 or something. off topic, I read the book "Tiger"(I think that is the title) that came out this past summer, and it was an interesting read that painted Earl not in the best of light, specifically it was him who taught his son how to handle the media, since his father was a part of dealing with the media for the military. But it highlighted how Earl was an adulterer, and actively seeking out reporters who would hear him speak. There was even a story that during Tiger's "Hello World" media hoopla, he was off to the side trying to rangle up interviews to any reporter who would listen. Often his "story telling" during those times where he would basically label Tiger the "chosen one" was all a part of his methods of handling media during his military years and knowing how to get them to pay attention to a particular story. Sorry went off on a tangent there.

haha. Just looked in the trunk of my car this morning...seeing my lonely golf clubs that haven't been touched in about 1 month. I to need to remove them and place them in my frigid garage. No snow yet here in central Indiana, but its fastly approaching. We had some freak weather come through last night though..storms! ha Hopefully I will make it to an indoor range this winter and play some virtual golf courses, and maybe if I am lucky make it somewhere down south and play on an actual course. I really need to focus on working out this winter...P90x here I come!

agreed. Hell, I still play my Titleist 962's from High School :) I am missing the ferril (sp?) on my 5 iron, and there is a nice ding in my 7 -iron face. My father has promised to buy me new clubs (that promise has been around for about 5 years now..haha) and I have never jumped on it because I don't feel I play enough to warrant new clubs. There are obviously certain people in this world who happen to have more talent then others. Some of my college teammates didn't pick up a golf club until 8th grade, and went on to be very successful High School golfers, including getting college scholarships. I picked up my first club when I was 7 years old, and even by 9th grade was still struggling to break 40, but then 10th - 12 grade I did fantastic. Strange how this sport is. it is my understanding some pros (even back in the old days lol) were able to be very successful rarely practicing, hitting a few balls before a round, and simply doing well during competition. I don't know names, but I remember hearing stories about certain pros being able to do this.

this is turning into a great chuck norris'esque thread.

Damnit...there goes the last 10 years :). I have used Tiger's swing as a muse for a long time..along with probably millions of kids, HS, and college golfers. Nobody will ever be able to copy Tiger's swing, or Phils, etc... some might get close..but just like DNA, every swing is unique and will stay that way. Yea probably...though I forget the YouTuber's name..but he had some sweet Bankok 2000 Tiger Woods footage and some from teh 2008 U.S Open (all range work) that was like 10 min long each. Was fun to watch but I think he uploaded them this past year. maybe someone will put up some late footage :)
-
yea good point. Really a great swing is in the eye of the beholder. The ONLY one who has a perfect swing is Iron Byron :)

"As suspected"...lol it's like you wrote your comment in a way to setup a trap or something..hoping to catch prey lol. You wrote it knowing I (and others) might jump at the opportunity to defend it or misinterpret it. every golfer has compensations...some more some less. So let me ask the question then. Who (whether its in the past or present) has a GREAT swing AND is a GREAT player? Who ecompasses all the pieces of a swing that makes it GREAT and has the other aspects that make them a great player? Yea can't wait for 2011..hopefully we see a new Tiger. Even with all those other things in play (short game, putting, etc...) I still think to win as much as Tiger has...you have to have a great swing. but anyways..this post is about existing Tiger Woods Ryder Cup 2010 swings. If you guys come across em..post em.

there is not a single player in golf history EVER that has won a golf tournament because all they had was a GREAT golf swing. And it's a rare event if a player wins a golf tournament who has a CRAPPY swing. You have a great swing..other areas of your game can be less honed..but still need to be honed whether its the mental aspect, the short game, etc... if you have a crappy swing..you better have the heart of a God and luck on your side to not only win 1 time..but to win multiple times. There are only a couple dozen of players in our life that happen to have a good balance of great swings, great minds, great short games, etc.. and those are the players with lots of majors, lots of wins. Everyone else are good players, but certainly are not at the levels of Woods, Player, Nicklaus, Palmer, Hogan, etc... to say it's easy to fall into a trap that Tiger Woods has a great swing is laughable..because he DOES have a great swing.
-
cause he does have a great swing. crap...if a guy with 14 majors, 70+ pga tour wins, etc... doesn't have a great swing...then I don't know what to say. I guess I will take the guy with a crappy swing who wins then someone with a great swing who can't make a cut.

There was one posted a while ago...was slow motion..but was curious if there were any others you guys have come across.

Yea, it was rough to see Hunter try to explain himself...just tough.

I do agree. As much of an asswhoppin the US got on Sunday...they provided (from a match perspective) about an equal asswhoppin during singles

I thought Brandel Chamblee had a great comment about the differences among the American team and the European team. He said something to the effect of The way he said it (and I completely gutted the way he said it above :)) is that the Europeans simply out ball-strike the Americans by a large margin. On a side note..I can't believe just how accurate these players were on the 15th drivable par 4. There was a span of 6 players in a row who hit the green with their drivers. Unreal. It also makes me wonder, based on Brandal's comments, why the Europeans wouldn't do better on American courses if their already great ballstriking would allow them to take advantage of missed shots into the rough. Sorry just rambling.

good swing and very interesting. Maybe Erik can chime in on points of his swing that look different or have been modified.
-
thanks for the comments. Well, I think a little buckled might be fine..but I might be doing it too much. I think I remember hearing that Sean O'hair changed his stance a bit on his driver so on the downswing his legs were bowed or quite a part, giving him more leverage. I like what Erik said about knees over the toes, that is a good visual. I will give it a shot and see how it goes. I am thinking it might give me a bit more stability and "maybe" even help me from over swinging.
-
I hope Tiger wipes his ass with Rory's face based on what I have been hearing. I am sure its golf talk all in good fun..or the media making a mountain out of a mole hill, but can't stand people who are cocky in the media. How many of you think the captains will stick Tiger and Rory against each other in singles. Everyone is kind of begging for it..they should :)
-
I sure hope not..I know Jeff...I sincerely hope he does well.
-
I haven't hit balls trying it yet, but in my house when I try to keep my knees more in a neutral position versus letting them buckle in..I kind of feel like I am riding a horse :)

This S.O.B is 8 years old and takes better divots then I do right now. :) for someone of his size/strength...I actually imagine he HAS to sway to generate really any power at his size...but very very sweet swing.
