Well, I definitely will use it for more than jsut a golf swing. But since the swing is about the only type of video requiring such a high FPS, i should be able to use that camera for anything else. I was only wondering about the quality of video i'd be able to obtain using the Zi6 or Zi8 vs a Flip. I watched some comparison videos on youtube that showed a true-er color with a Flip, and I actually like the way it looks way more than the Zi series. But ultimately quality of video is key.

i'm also looking to buy a cam on balck friday. What do you guys think about the Flip? is that any good? EDIT: HOLY crap, Frank.... it was pretty funny watching you trying to destroy that van there. Really nice quality video you got there. How much space did that video take up?

OH no! that's very sad. I just bought a used Nickent Hybrid #3. It is so amazing. It's my favorite club.... even more than my 7 iron. I can't believe they went under. Aren't they supposed to have the #1 hybrid used in the tour?

Very interesting. Well, I'm playing at shadow lakes in brentwood this weekend, and I guess i'll be trying GolfLogix for the iphone. i hope the battery life holds up here. i've played with a few people that had gps' and lasers, but i'll be testing this iphone one on my own. we'll see how efficient and effective it is. On a side note, i really hate lasers. i dont konw anyone who has a steady enough hand to get distance from 150-200 out. how do you even use these things
-
Sorry if this sounds ignorant, but why would i want to log those distances? DOn't I move on after I take the shot, and have no need for that again? How did you do on the battery life on that thing ... How much did you have left after a 5 hour game? I'm afraid mine might not last that long if i keep the screen on the whole time for the game.

http://www.golfshot.com/?gclid=CKOfh...FSFRagodIEVqjg i saw this while browsing on the iphone. has anyone had experience with this this? it's only 30 bucks and i'm thinking about getting it. I can't afford the expensive GPS .. 200 bucks holy cow! and the uPro at 400!

I don't think it's that fast. Don't the pros swing at 120+? I am working on changing my swing as the pro instructed. Your 7 goes 170? I can only get it 150-155 at most. I dont know if it's me or if it's the hand-me-down TechEdge set that someone gave me 10 years ago. Irons don't make that much of a difference in my distance, does it? We'll see how this new swing works out. Is that what everyone does? HAve a slower iron stroke as compared to the driver?

Forward press and head cock....good or no?
YajR replied to Msokol13's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
i have a forward press trigger to my swing now. but i'm not all that good a golfer. I only do it because i lift the club back with my right hand a lot. so the forward press lets me lift the club better than conventionally dragging it backwards. this is something i'm trying to change with a anew swing though, to get rid of a golf elbow problem. My dad who's a pro in Malaysia has played with a slight forward press trigger almost all his life. Maybe that's where i got it from. -
delayed onset elbow pain. so that's what it's called. Good to be able to name it. Well, I got pissed the other day since i had to take of a week, and i decided to go see a pro whom i'd bought lessons with 6 months ago but just enver did go see. SO he put me on the camera and I could see where the pain was coming from. Man... i have an F'ed up swing. I always come from the outside in, and my grip is twisted too much to the left, so when i came in contact, my right hand comes so hard down and forces my left to straighten out. Then I start leading with follow through with the left elbow. I guess I'm crushing my own elbow with my swing. So now i'm working on an inside out swing. Feels weird not tht have club control in my fore arms anymore, but no pain on every swing does feel pretty good. Feels much more solid too, for some reason.

Not playing for a while is just unacceptable! :) Have you tried that flexbar thing yourself?

Man those are a lot of courses I haven't tried except for Tilden and Franklin. I played tilden for the first time last week. Got an internet special for 55 bucks and lunch. It kicked my ass, but i'll definitely play there again. Awesome course. I didn't like Franklin at all. The fairways were really hard like Crystal. It's the only thing that's not satisfying on that course. Mkes me feel like i'm playing on thin carpet. Hey hit me up when you're in the area. I almost never say no to golf. Elbow or no elbow :) Motley: Advil seems to be what everyone's suggesting. You know, with the chainsaw that puts me right at 14 clubs. Sweet!

Oh! good question. I'm a rightie... My left elbow is the one that hurts, right above the elbow and below the triceps. I do have a flyaway right elbow btw. I swing from the out to the inside. I've learnt to control the slicing (mostly), but it's definitely an outside in swing. And I have a trigger when i take my back-swing. If that makes sense.

I hate it when 2 groups are waiting on the same tee and they pretend to be in 2 separate realities. Geez... it's golf. You can be more friendly. You don' have to stand 20 yards away.

Thanks guys. Fat: I've played all those places, but I'd have to say I've played poplar the most. MOstly cuz it's 500 yards from work and less than a mile from my house. Plus I love how they keep it so beautiful. I like Crystal but it kicks my heiny everytime! What's your local haunt?

Yea the doctors are really unhelpful to me on this matter. I'd hate to have to take motrin everyday for the rest of my life if i want to play golf every weekend.... and not playing for 2 weeks is just plain unacceptable! I don't play any other sport except this, so I suppose you're right about it being a swing fault. This is bad. I just figured out how to keep my swing relatively consistent, and now I have to go change it again. Bah! I guess it's better than snapping the tendon and losing my ability t play, but damn.... starting from ground Zero? Deron: what's that band supposed to do for me, deron? It looks like a fore arms strengthening tool. Is that what it is? Will it help with my pains?

I looked as far as 8 pages back and didn't see a topic like this, so I"m posting here. Forgiv me if I missed one, as i have no intention of spamming the board. I have been having golf elbow for abut a year now. It's not that severe, as I dont feel it when I play. But 2 days after playing, it comes and stays for about a week. Worst case ever was 2 weeks. Is it because i'm whacking the ground too much or is it the amount of force I'm using in my swing? I swing at about 106 with my irons, and i just bought a Superquad driver with a stiff flex 65. i'm gettng this because i was using the big bertha war bird for about a year now, and hit really hard with it. i noticed the only time i didn't get any pain after golf was a week when i used my friend's R7 with a regular flex. i hit it well that day. and that day only. Could the speed of my swing have any to do with it or is the cause of my golf elbow be because of the impact my irons are getting on the ground? Before yesterday, I always assumed the pain came because of the way I was driving. See this has got me thinking if I should change my drive swing to accomodate a regular flex (it's going to be EXTREMELY difficult) or stick with a stiff and be careful with the irons. See.... I'm assuming the pain is coming from how hard I swing the driver. Am I on the right course here, or is it misguided? Btw, do those fore arm bands you get at walgreens good for helping with these pains?

HEy guys, I had a question about golf elbow that I posted on the golflink site, but it was pretty inactive so i Googled golf forums and landed here. I'm not sure how this reputation thing works despite reading the threads, so I'll keep posting till i can :) i play out of the san francisco bay area. Apparently I'm a 22.8, although i think that index was being very generous to me. I'm nowhere that close. My dad was a golf pro in the country i was from, but i never took an interest in the game. But 8 years later, and 6000 miles away .... now i decide i like it. haha i didn't know pros charged so much :) I'm looking forward to getting some tips on improving my fairly inconsistent game. But what a lovely game, though.

i think Tiger had more exposure, that's why we think he's better. There are a lot more people watching golf today than there was back in the day when nicklaus was king. It was super rare to see kids play golf those times, but ti's pretty common now.

http://www.diablocreekgc.com/ I joined the golf club based out of that course, but sadly i haven't played it yet. hmm... maybe i should
