I just got a set of Ping G25 irons a couple of weeks ago. I had bought a set of Mizuno JPX-825's which are great irons but I'm much more consistent with the G25's. Probably because I played Eye 2's for 25 years, I guess I'm just a Ping guy.

In that case I'll be a way uncool golfer. I play Mizuno irons.

Yeah, I need to give them a try. I did swing a MP-53 6 iron at Edwin Watts and have to admit it was pretty easy to hit and felt awesome.. I'm 54 years old now but back in my teens and to mid twenties I was playing Wilson Staff Dynapower Fluid Feel irons. A true forged blade. Still got them.

Dang those irons are beautiful. I hope I can get my swing good enough someday to get back to forged irons like that. Got a set of Mizuno JPX-825's heading my way right now. How forgiving are the MP-59's?

Thanks guys. I'm kind of leaning towards the Pros because of the forged feel. I don't think I can go wrong with either.

For those who have played both, how would you compare distance and forgiveness of these two? I'm 54 years old. 20 years ago I was probably about a 10 handicap. Good solid fundamentals but because I'm getting older just don't hit it very far anymore. 7 iron about 145 to 150. Really on the fence between these two. Thanks for any input.

Thanks Jeetz, I appreciate the input. I haven't played much in about 15 years but have always loved the game. My Dad showed me the basics in about 1975 and by 1978 I shot a 77. That's a very long time ago now. Now I'm just hoping to get a decent game of golf back. I just know the Titleist AP1 712 and the Mizuno JPX-825's kind of felt like a whole different level than my Ping G10's. And I love Pings and played Ping Eye 2's for over 20 years. Chuck

I know this has been covered before and links to older threads are welcome. I'm 54 years old and have been mostly out of the game for 10 to 15 years. Pretty good ball striker with average distance. 7 iron about 150 to 155. Averaged in the low 80's when I was playing some. Really trying to get back into the game. Right now I have Ping G10's with AWS regular shafts. Solid irons but I just swung a Titleist AP1 712 and Mizuno JPX-825 six iron at Edwin Watts yesterday and WOW. They both felt awesome. VERY solid and great feel. For those that have experience with either or both under real turf/course conditions (not off plastic mats into a picture of a golf hole)..thoughts? Thanks so much. Chuck

I just regripped my entire set with Golf Pride New Decades. .600 rounds. I have always added about 2 layers of masking tape to slightly build up the grips before spiraling on some 3/4 inch wide two sided tape. They feel awesome. Slightly fuller feel but not as fat feeling as a "midsize".

I've regripped my own clubs for about 30 years. I can build them up with masking tape just like I want and can make SURE the grip is lined up correctly. I hate a grip that is not lined up perfect with the face.

I have a used one coming this week. Any thoughts?

Hi everybody, Here is my story in a nutshell. I'm 52 years old. Been playing since I was 16. At times years ago I've played fairly well. High 70's to low 80's. I haven't played much at all in the last 10 years. I'm looking to get back into the game but I need some quality PGA instruction to guide me. I played Ping Eye 2's for over 20 years. Now I have Ping G10's and they are great. I've just recently bought Ping Tour-W wedges. 60-08, 56-10 and 52-12. I'll let you know about them when I get a chance to hit 'em. They feel really good to me.
