What it looks like on tv and what it looks and plays like in person are very different. I have played it this year and I can tell you first hand that it is in great shape. Speaking with the guy who buses you down to the first tee, he stated that they would be ready for the US Open next year if need be. I played in the rain and wind and had my umbrella up for 17 holes but I loved every minute of it. Play it if you get the chance.

Dustin is going to be tough to reel in. I think that it's ironic that the longest hitter out there is in the lead on a "second shot golf course". He is playing well. Let's see if he can hold off the Tiger factor.

Saturday is moving day. I think it's more of a matter that Tiger is now in a better position to win now than Phil is. Until Phil learns how to "take his medicine" when he is in trouble, he is going to have a tough time winning a US Open.

About 18 years ago I was making the turn at a muni right near downtown Seattle, Jefferson Park, and there was a very large man at ten tee. We drive up and he asks if we want to join him. Turns out it was Olden Polynice otherwise know as "Officer Polynice". He was then playing for the Sonic's. He was about 7' 1" and wearing knickers and a silly hat. Turns out Redbird had just given him a brand new set of clubs and he was trying them out. He let us try his extra long driver, I swear it was longer than I was tall. He was terrible at golf and spent the whole time telling us how he had "dominated" Hakeem Olojuwon in the summer league. Also played behind Alex Rodriguez many years ago while he was in the minors playing for Tacoma. He could kill the ball but it never went straight. He had a nice looking young lady riding along with him. He played about 5 holes and bailed.

I use the Golf Logix app with my Blackberry and I love it. Very easy to set up and use. Easily tracks a few basic stats during the round. Haven't found a course that wasn't available yet. Mine takes a pretty decent hit to my battery after using it for a round so make sure you have a car charger for the ride home.

I was up on my buddy pretty good on 18 so he went double or nothing straight up score for the money he owed me to that point. Piped a drive down the right side on a 350 yard par 4. 2nd shot about 80 yards out stuffed a half wedge to about 6 feet. Lipped out the putt for a par and we pushed for the hole.

Jack v. Tiger with similar technology? I'm taking Jack.

Shot an 84 last Friday at Mt. Si. Started off very poorly and shot a 45 on the front and then found a groove and went 39 on the back. Short game was on.
