I just made it myself, was looking at MX300, DF, AP2 etc.......... Ended up buying a set of Raptures, and I'm not even concerned about the top line or the sole.....I think my putter and scorecard will appreciate it.

I always disliked Ping Irons because I never really paid any attention after seeing the Zings and that weird twisty hosel..... I always thought they were WAY overpriced as well....of course I was pretty poor back then. I have since looked over ALOT of irons from different companies, including Pings, Mizzys,Callys,Titties, and decided that although I PREFER the look of the thin topline/sole like the S57/i10, I finally convinced myself to get real and realize that I am a High Capper and a prime candidate for GI/SGI clubs (although I did have Tour Burners- those were GI) and there was nothing to be ashamed about considering I play once, or if extremely lucky- twice a week(VERY rare)....... Never picked up a Ping club before this week, but got fitted hitting the i15/G15 the other day, and just ordered a set of Raptures (V1) because of hitting them, the G5, G10, and G15..... I was able to track down the Raptures(3-PW) used in Mint condition stiff W/AWT for

I'm up for an outing with nearby folks from the forum, we have plenty of time but I suggest we try and get the discussion started so that we have plenty of time to discuss where and when..... Everyone that wants a cart raise their hand!!!!!!!!! muzz raises his hand, not in shame mind you, but he was just scratching under his arm...........

What is REALLY the point of not counting strokes? I'm not getting it.

Little too steep for me, considering it would cost me 3200+ Too far too.

The fact is the group behind them was not only a hell of alot faster, but ignorant to the hazards of hitting into someone. From what is being said here, there is no doubt in my mind that even if they had caught the group in front of them, that the jerkoffs behind them STILL would have EASILY caught them and started their BS again, maybe just 2 holes later. Facts are facts, the starter set it up that way and they played it that way, to the EXACT same amount of time. What is so hard for YOU to understand?
-
You make ZERO sense man, sorry that your a pro 5.8 Let me rush to catch the group in front of me so I can wait in EVERY single FW, never mind that the group in front of me played in 4:15 and I played in 4:15, which means that I was just as close as the minute the STARTER(you know him, he sets the spacing)allowed me to tee off. Lord knows I should have rushed to catch them so that I was waiting in the FW, and then when I'm on the green the fools behind me that are in a hurry can land their ball on the green while I'm putting, I won't mind as long as it doesn't stop or put a ball mark in my line..... "You should always expect a little waiting during a round, especially if it's a course full of golfers. Having open fairways and greens EVERY hole is a sign that you're probably moving too slowly." Where do you want them to go? Rush so that there are THREE foursomes on the tee at the same time? Sorry there Tiger, I guess we'll have to agree that we disagree on this one......glad to know that your playing in the Masters though!

How do you figure that your gonna "catch" the group in front of you, and what are you supposed to do when you "Catch" them, wait out in the FW on every hole? What's the point of "catching" them in the 1st place? The group in front of them (that they were told to WAIT on) had a 4:15 Round as well, the SAME amount of time, if they had "CAUGHT" them they would have had to WAIT on them. It's obvious(to anyone that is paying attention) that they were NOT falling way behind, as the 2 total Rd times were the SAME. I would DEFINITELY write a letter to upper Management, with a cool head explaining the situation, as far as I'm concerned they owe you a RD of Golf for that garbage..... Unreal, "Hey hold up until they are off the green.....OK go ahead now, but I expect you to catch them to the point that you are waiting in the fairway on every hole". Bah I'm definitely not getting this at all, 4:15 is NOT a long round on a BUSY Muni course, especially a 4some with 2 short hitting women.

Jamo- It didn't benefit his argument, so now it's Justin Rose is right and Tiger Woods is wrong....... OK Skip, I'll see ya.............

NP at all Dave, the way I worded the OP was for reasons I have alluded to since, I'm looking for the Teachers that KNOW HOW to teach, not interested in guys that have a "great rep" and charge an arm and a leg. I'm certain that there are MANY teachers that understand the swing, but how many actually know how to teach the fundamentals correctly instead of sticking a band-aid on a bullet wound, and once there are a few of those in the list, then it's just finding out which ones don't charge you like ya name was Bernie Madoff or Bill Gates.

Congrats on breaking the 100 barrier, forget about feeling bad for the 9 and 8, don't forget that you were 44 after 9,and parred 10, so you were well on your way to < 90, if you didn't make a couple of bad shots you would have shot an awesome round, so instead of getting mad, step back and look at it as a stepping stone, you had a good rd going so now you should realize that you CAN score if you can minimize the REAL bad shots/decisions. Enjoy it, next time you'll be aiming for 90.

Ouch....... I have no intention of feeding a guy that wants to get paid like a Brain Surgeon, golf is expensive enough. I also have zero patience for pompous people that try and force stuff on ya just so they can add a new addition onto their 3rd house. " In todays news.......Man is under arrest for taking 3 iron to crazed teachers dome " " He was foamin' at the mouth and telling me that I had some nerve asking for just 1 lesson, I told him that's all I needed, so he tried to talk me into short game lessons which I didn't need.....then he started foamin at the mouth talking all crazy about my mother, so I just cracked him...you should've seen that dude crumple to the floor.....at least I got him to shutup.....some folks were thanking me" No Thanks

I try to hide behind a tree if near one, the cart if near it, bag if not in a cart....on the green I tend to duck my head between my forearms.

A refurbished ball has been altered, a used ball hasn't. The used balls from lostballs should never be an issue, as they are simply washed.

I hit balls at the range today, the 1st time I have hit since late October. Awful just awful.....I've never been in such a rush to finish the bucket, it was the worst session I've ever had.

Thanks for the input guys it is MUCH APPRECIATED, but those 2 guys are pretty expensive, most of what I see is like 50-$60 for 45 min- 1 hr, You guys suggested guys that charge 120 and 175 per hour, and from where I sit, that is ALOT of coin... Something tells me that I won't be meeting Brandon, Skip, or Mr Cavicchi, not even if they are better than Hank Haney Harmon ; ) Thanks for the suggestions anyways guys, it didn't hurt to put them out there, except to make me look at Lessons as something only for Rich People, which is one of the reasons I have never taken 1....very discouraging. Thanks Again, any input is greatly appreciated!!

Lucky Dog!! I wish I was in FLA and getting ready to play my 1st Rd of the year! Enjoy yourself, and don't look around when you hear someone yell FORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE!!

I disagree with this 100% X-Outs are REJECT balls for some reason, Used balls(NOT reconditioned) are not, the AAAA or AAAAA are like One Hit Wonders, they look and play new, kinda like letting someone else drive the car from the lot, then buying it the next day when they return it because they didn't like it. The balls aren't all scraped up, you can reach into a bag full of 4-5A balls, and other than a logo here or there, never know that it was a used ball. Reconditioned is different, I'm not a fan of "painting" and stamping, who knows what that thing looked like. To each his own, but the 4 and 5 A balls look and play as new for < 1/2 price.

I've been considering taking my 1st lesson, but I am very wary of teachers, and know of none that are reasonable and proven. I live in Easton, and for obvious reasons would prefer someone that is at least somewhat close, and of course they can't cost an arm and a leg. Anyone have experience with Teachers in this area of the state? Thanks

Hey Bo, I live 5 minutes from Pine Oaks and I used to play there alot years ago, don't play it that much anymore because of it only being 9 holes, I was considering joining a league there last year.....was looking for a good deal on a membership somewhere this year, but it looks like that isn't gonna happen..... I go into J+L's a few times a year at least, including last weekend...was looking for a good deal on some shoes, walked out empty handed this time! I almost called Easton Today to try and get out as a single! I play....... Mostly: Easton DW Olde Scotland links Poquoy Ridder Pine Oaks Juniper Hill(work) Less often: Atlantic River Bend Acushnet River (just found it last year- great deal- this will move up) Pine Hills(once last year- planning this year) White Cliffs (1st time last yr) Stowe(work) Indian meadows(work) Brook Meadow(work) I used to play Willowdale years ago with the GF before she stopped playing, I'd be up for a quick 9 there this summer after work if you still make it down this way. Thanks Da ! sup bogey, pretty soon we'll all be in FULL swing!!

Hey James- another Ma golfer! Never played the Harmon Club course, played Rockland once, IIRC it had some tough par 3's. A guy from WRX plays at the Harmon course as well.

I was in Edwin Watts last week, so I asked about getting a Mizuno Fitting done using that new optimizer. The guy said it was $50 for the fitting, but if I buy from there the fitting is waived. Must be nice, get $50 for putting a couple of pieces of tape on a club, attaching the optimizer, and letting a guy take a few swings on your Lie Board..sweet, where do I sign up........
