  1. mid eighties if I remember correctly
  2. I would say group lessons first, private lessons when you have gained some experience. Some community colleges/driving ranges have a series of lessons, these are great to meet others in your situation and allows some time from week to week to practice what was taught. Our golf bubble does some lessons for 100 yds and in...a great beginner focus. Enjoy and if you only learn 1 thing it should be...PLAY FAST
  3. I am no pro....I like your set up..good spine angle. Cant help but think " is that club too short?' Face looks open to me.....place your thumbnail on the top of your head at set up.....notice how much you dip down at the bottom. I feel your head cant be held still ...it has to move some..but yours seems alittle extreme. If you move that much up and down ...would seem that some will chunk...some will top. Swing....dont go after it..smooth speed...you cant muscle it. You are tall enough, athletic enough and strong enough that you should be able to generate more speed with less effort. The ending is classic high school kid behavior ! (you are not as good as you think you are...and if you ARE that good...you dont behave like that..the shot you got was the shot you made, you got what you deserved...get over it)
  4. to me.. ..I think it is too much, the only thing of value is the irons which isnt a complete set (missing the PW) the woods are not really up to modern specs....you can get a set of Big Bertha 1994 or 1996 for about $100...find an SMT driver for about $50, a fairway or hybrid and a putter and you are in business. Will be interesting to hear other comments
  5. Clearly you are athletic, it will come to you .....I see from your head on shots...that your front leg seems to be loading about 99% of your weight. What I think then happens is that there no more weight to bring to the downswing. I am no golf pro..but in my swing I feel like there is more weight "loading" onto the back leg at the top and that weight transfers down and thru the ball much like a baseball player transfers his weight forward when making a throw from the field. With the weight ending towards my target..into my front leg.
  6. If you were concerned, you could have just put a new already lined ball into play
  7. Are there other options than those 3 ?? I guess a caddy could carry
  8. lightest bag possible.....carry very little, you can restock at the turn. Have a few snacks and water on hand. Light light light.....make sure you hit right down the middle
  9. If your gap is a 49 the question is what is your PW???? Is it a 46 or 49 so in essence you may be carrying 2 clubs the same loft or at least very close. Find out your PW loft and work out from there 5 degrees for covering the various yardages.
  10. I rarely go to the range, I do carry a shag bag and wedges in my car and often stop at a baseball field/park/football field to hit shots.
  11. They might look better if they were tailored....look alittle bit frumpy
  12. better than sitting inside, great if you are planning a golf trip......equipment wise...kinda sucks
  13. to me..your hands start outside the line and then drop in.......and that is a pretty big bucket of balls Some good moves in there

    PGM Schools

No one is going to know which of those programs is the best. The answer is what is best FOR YOU. Which program seems like the best fit, the greatest challenge, the program that is inline with your interest. Here is the big test ( which works for football/baseball/basketball to) If you couldnt complete the PGM program....would you be happy at that institution. So take golf out of it.....is it still a fit. PS it is hear...not here..... and their ....not there spelling does matter "I am yet to here back from New..." "and into there PGM program"
  15. I dont know why he refers to himself as a golf professional, he has never held a job, he was a trust fund baby..he is a golf bum. Which is like being a bum,,but you have golf. It is not even a real story
  16. I am sure there are a number of ways...I use a straight line on the ground, a tile, or a board on a wood floor for reference. I try to line the first groove parallel to that line /crack /reference. I then sight down the shaft any source of light, a bulb, overhead light and try to align the tab to that..( since the shaft is round the light picks up right in the middle, one of those things that is harder to explain than to show) and work backwards. For me, when I use bramptons, it seems the bottom sets up first, the butt seems to stay loose longer. Of course the best way would be to have a set up that includes a laser, I dont have that luxury . Also pick grips based on your skills...Star grips are great because there are little graphics, harder to see any flaws. Maybe a local shop has an air gun and can easily make adjustments to the grips
  17. SO I am concerned already...you say the shafts are at your lengths already...not all hosel depths are the same, so what is pulled from a club at 36 may work out to be 34.5 or 36.5 in your clubs...then again maybe not. Club building is fun, not that hard but why spend all that money on a pristine set of Nikes only to fudge it up. What about swingweight, shaft alignment etc...keep doing your research and I am sure it will be fine.
  18. Lots of people can put clubs together....some just make a better finished product.
  19. Check out YouTube....it is easy...bit there is a learning curve for best results.
  20. Get a business degree, Accounting or management, find some work in the industry to add to your resume, being a PGA professional in my opinion....can be accomplished down the road if you need to....Most club managers I have met were not giving golf lessons on the practice tee. In todays golf business environment, it is about the bottom line, who would know that better than an accountant.
  21. I guess I am not understanding, you want to be a pro/director of golf..or a food and beverage guy?? Or someone who is s a business manager for a tour player??
  22. it is ok....sounds like a good plan
