  2. Thank you for the feedback! Are your comments based on the first videos at the beginning of the thread or the ones I just posted? Do you see a difference in them? Thanks again!
  3. I've been Playing Golf for: 12 years My current handicap index or average score is: 7.6 My typical ball flight is: High/ Slight fade or draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Pull left Finally got some new videos this weekend. Working on a few things, biggest issue as mentioned above is tendency to pull the ball left. It isn't so much a hook, but straight left. Working on getting closer to the ball at address, and picking up the tempo a bit. Happy for any feedback, thanks! Videos:
  4. I live in Maryland and, Mother Nature willing, I usually play throughout the winter barring heavy snow. As long as it is at least 40° I am fine with throwing on my thermal mock and winter hat and heading out for a good walk! It's actually pretty nice then, too, as most courses are just about empty and you can really fly through.
  5. Set a new personal best yesterday at the home course with a two over par 74. One bogey and one birdie on the front and two bogeys on the back. I really wasn't hitting my irons very well but the chipping and putting were pretty good, particularly my lags. Had several long putts that I was able to roll up close to keep it to a two-putt. No three-putts on the card along with 5 one-putts.
  6. +1 for the True Linkswear. I have had mine for this season and walked probably 15-20 rounds in them. They are SO comfortable. As another poster commented, they are like walking in your house slippers. I have not had any durability issues. I also really like that I can wear them before and after the round so no time spent changing shoes. Just jump in the car and go! The only two (minor) issues I can report are that you will feel things a little more when you step on them (like small rocks, etc) and they might not be the best in very wet conditions traction-wise. I played in a light rain a week or so ago and on one drive my right foot slipped completely out from under me. Other than those two things, which are minor IMO, I highly recommend them.
  7. Hey, thanks for the tip Mackless! It does work. I swear it even says on their website that it only works on Iphone. Oh well... glad I said something! I haven't found it to be too slow with the yardage update. Maybe it is just the different ROM/Kernel combo I am using... not sure.
  8. Wow, talk about similar... lol. I also shot 81 yesterday (39/42) and blew up on 16. I sliced my drive right into the tree line. However, it really wasn't a bad lie and I had a view of the green AND was only 90 yards out. However, I got too risky on my second shot and clipped a tree which knocked my ball down about 65 yards out. Still not too bad, and now in decent shape, I proceed to chunk my third shot into a GS bunker. On in four, two-putt double bogey. Only double on the day....ARGHH!! My short game was just not in sync all day. On the up side, I had only 29 putts.
  9. I have now used the Golfshot GPS twice and I have to say I REALLY like it. Glad I decided not to renew my Skycaddie. It seems to be within a yard or two accuracy-wise and the statistics are awesome. I like that it emails you the scorecard and stats after every round, too. Battery drain was not an issue (I am using a rooted Droid Incredible with the stock battery). I think I started with 96% battery and ended with 60-something. Not bad for just over four hours of nearly continual use. My only (minor) complaint would be that I wish they'd hurry up and get all the features working for Android. So far, some things only work on the Iphone platform (like aerial shot zoom, etc) but even without that, I would give this a strong recommendation!
  10. Decided to try out Golfshot GPS rather than renew my SkyCaddie membership. Going to try it out for the first time this afternoon at my home course. I was using SkyDroid and it's "ok" but doesn't have scoring, etc. Golfshot was $30 but, it's one time vs. every year with SC. We'll see....hoping it works as well as it has been reviewed.
  11. Shot a new personal best! 36/40 for a 76!!! Played the front at one over and the back at three over. Hit 9/14 fairways and had 11 GIR's. No three-putts! Only "blow up" hole was a par five on the back, took a double bogey after blading a shot from the green-side bunker over the green then chunking the come-backer... ended up with 11 pars, 2 birdies, 4 bogeys and 1 double. Great day!!
  12. 43/43 86... tough course par 72 6640 yards and playing it for the first time. Got on a nice run after a few holes an par'd 6 in a row. 34 putts... left a few shots out there as always but happy overall.
  13. 83 @ Fairway Hills (43/40). Not altogether bad considering the condition of the course. I have never in my life seen such a swampy, wet course. Had at least 4 or 5 drives plug in the fairway to where you couldn't see the ball until you walked right up on it. On one par 5, you have to hit a short iron 2nd shot due to a 90º left dog-leg then hit another short iron into the green. My second shot (9 iron) we couldn't find it in the fairway! Crazy...
  14. I got a Sun Mountain Speed Cart for Christmas last year and I love it. I don't feel as fatigued as I do carrying. Not that it is a HUGE difference but every little bit helps. I love it so far and have not noticed it to be any more difficult over hilly terrain.
  15. Had to chuckle as the camera followed he and his caddie after the hole. Basically it went like this: Na: "How to we even count all that?" Caddie: "I have no idea, I lost count." Na: "Me too..." LOL...
  16. You definitely did the right thing! That is one of the fundamental life lessons that golf is supposed to teach us!
  17. Like that one, thanks! I also use Wunderground regularly...
  18. Recently read Bobby Clampett's "The Impact Zone" and have been trying to "move the swing bottom forward" by focusing on an area 2-3" in front of the ball. Generally seems to be working well for me. I feel like I am making better contact from Driver down to wedge. Also, for the most part, my divots are now starting AFTER the ball. The only place this caused an issue for me was in the sand. I found that trying to focus in FRONT of the ball was making me hit terrible bunker shots which is something I was previously pretty good at. When I tried to go back to looking an inch or so behind the ball, I found it kind of awkward because I had become accustomed to looking in front of the ball for every other shot. But, after a few practice sessions, I am now comfortable making the switch from looking in front on all other shots and behind on bunker shots. It really was a helpful book. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to work on ball striking.
  19. CBS Local Offers (groupon-type thing) just had a $36 special for PB Dye. Finally going to play it this year! Going to try and make a day of it and maybe play 36 (Whiskey Creek / PB Dye).
  20. 84 today in first club outing. Was hitting the ball well, but couldn't get into rhythm putting on aerated greens. Only hit 4 FW's, but majority of misses were only off by a few yards. 4 GIR, 34 putts. Started off strong parring the first 4 holes, then just lost touch on the bumpy greens. Oh well, not too bad I guess.
  21. It didn't look like a women's club as I was laying it out past everyone in my foursome the past two rounds... But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
  22. Decided to post a couple new pics after the new additions: Added the R11 and a new Vokey 58° wedge.
  23. 87, 42/45. Hitting the new R11 like crazy... not really one bad drive all day. Short game was the killer today. Just had no touch at all. Flubbed two chips into bunkers then either hit the bunker shot fat or bladed it across the green. Ugh.
  24. Switched from the 09 Burner. Got my R11 today and went PROMPTLY to the range. Hit a few shots with the "stock" settings. Was pulling it left. Changed the sole plate to "open." That was the initial tweak. Club looked better at address and I was hitting it straight, maybe slightly faded. Felt like I was still hitting it too high, not as "piercing" as I would like. So, second adjustment was the loft to the "Lower" setting. That is where I left it. Was very happy with the 20 or so shots I hit from then on. Left the range, went back in and got a cart and played nine holes. Have to say I am VERY happy so far. I love the distinct sound it makes. And I agree with previous poster who noted additional length. I played my "home" course so I am very familiar with where I typically hit my drives. I forgot my SkyCaddie so I don't have exact numbers, but I would estimate I was 10 yards or so longer than normal. Maybe even more on one or two holes. First impression: She's a keeper!
