  1. Hands down, its Camilo Villegas. I could go on and on about why I think this guy is awesome, but basically its down to his attitude towards not only golf, but physicaly fitness. He plays golf to have fun, hit rediculous shots and just happens to earn millions of dollars in the process. His body is a result of spending probably 1000's of hours in the gym, simply because he is not content with being a golfer; he wants to be an athlete. He hits shots others would not even contemplate hitting. And don't even get me started on the way he reads his putts!
  2. Havn't actually been to a golf store during the off season. Although when I next go to my pro shop I need to place an order for an all black Titleist X96 stand bag for the new season...
  3. Just proves you dont have to swing it perfect to be good. Luke Goddard (2009 GB&I; Walker Cup Player) is a member at my club, so therefore I have played and practised with him. His swing is undoubtably technically more sound that Rickie's, however shows this does not count for all that much!
  4. Ian Poulter, simply because he would probably crack an inappropriate joke on the first tee
  5. Here are a couple of techniques/games i've found benficial on the driving range: 1. If hitting wedges at the 50 or 100 yard signs, try aiming for the individual digits, as opposed to the target itself. Helps your mind focus on a more precise target. 2. Take a particular club and hit a straight shot, a draw and a fade. Then a high straight one, high draw and a high fade. Then a low straight one, low draw and a low fade. If you do not execute any of the shots to a satisfactory level (depending on your level), start from the beginning. 3. Play imaginary holes on your home course. (Try and choose holes which you find tough or generally tend to struggle with.) This is a good exercise for visualisation and can also be used prior to a competitive round. (As part of your warm up, play the first hole that you wil play on the course. ) 4. Only hit one shot with each club. I sometimes find that I get caught up in hitting too many wedges, or 6 irons or drivers at the range. By switching club every shot, it keeps your mind fresh, forces you to pick new targets and more accurately simulates an actual round
  6. My handicap is 3, and my misses tend to be with the longer clubs. At the beginning of last season these would be to the right, however toward the back end of the season and during the off season, my misses have been to the left. This is probably a result of an over compensation of the problem i was having at the beginning of the season, and therefore I have got into a bad habit which is proving difficult to eliminate. If I were to hit a poor shot with my wedges, it would be to hit them too far, as opposed to either short, left or right.
  7. I have a handicap of 3 and use a Callway x-12 2 iron. I dont necesserily have it in my bag all the time. Depends on the conditions and the type of course im playing. Very useful club in dry, firm conditions as with roll I can hit it around 240, therefore making it a club I can use on a par 4 of 400+ yards and not leave myself with too far in. But essentially it is my go to club, which I hit if a particular tee shot doesnt suit my eye, or a if it is tight hole with trouble that can be found with an errant tee shot. Its also a very useful club in the wind, and since im from the UK, and invaluable club when playing links golf. For example I'm playing at Royal St. Georges next week, therefore it will be a club I will use a lot not only off the tee, but also on par 5's and probably par 4's for my 2nd shots. Some people may find the prospect of hitting a 2-iron daunting, but with practice and confidence, it can become an integral part of your bag.

  9. 1. Get my handicap down from 3.2 to at least 1.4 2. Win my club championship. (Came 2nd past 2 years) 3. Walk on to my university team at trials in october 4. Have a stroke averge of less than 75 for the season 5. Commit to every tee shot on the 18th hole at my course
  10. I live in the UK and bought a pair of these over in the US whilst on a month long tour. I started wearing them and found they rubbed my feels and made them very red and sore by the end of the round. I think this is due to the fact they have a high heel on them, and I have previously been used to wearing dryjoys which have a considerably lower heel. Just something to bear in mind if anyone out there is considering buying these shoes.
